Wow, simply amazing. I'm honestly very impressed and as far as natural melody you win in my book. The others may be a bit more technical but you make the guitar sing without any unnecessary notes. Beautiful!
Oh and Would you mind sharing your Satchurator settings?
Well...I'm late...as always...but I've compared your entry with the top 3 ones and I think that they are "machanical melodic",your entry has feel and tone that is more close to the one Joe Satriani in person can play...and a REAL melody, without unnecessary notes....great talend...for me you are the winner....and excellent tone also...
@KleptoManicKat I like the Fred better with the Evo 2. Like I said in my demo vid, it's got a bit more power and it matches well with the Evo... If I put the Mo' Joe or Fred in the bridge, then I'd probably use the PAF Joe, in that case.
@qwertyofasdf Oh man... I can't remember how I used to set it. I know now my Satchurator has tone set at about 9 o'clock, volume and gain maxed. Amp's bass and treble is about 9 o'clock and mids at noon.
@samdubusc Thats pretty much how I setup my amp as well. I've been considering purchasing a Satchurator, cant decide if I want to or not though. You make that Marshall MG100HDFX sound awesome! Does that thing have stock speakers?
@qwertyofasdf I really really like my Satchurator. You won't be disappointed if you get one. Yes, it's got stock speakers, but I'm not using them. I'm using the emulated line-out. And thanks! ;)
Wow, this was just so amazing. I cant stop listening to it and i subbed to you. I honestly can't wrap my mind around the fact that 4 people rated this a thumbs down. What's even more amazing though is that you remind me of the guy from Superbad. Lol jk about it being more amazing than you're playing. Seriously, you're a great guitarist. And i see you love the wah lol. Oh yeah, i see your laundry basket lol. Just thought id mention that
Yeah, the JS came with a Fred. The Fred is an awesome pickup... I can only really describe it as... "sweet". It has a lot of different overtones, depending on how you pick, among other factors. It also has a lot of headroom. The Evo 2, like I mentioned before, has a distinct midrange-y voice. Basically, a softer Vai sound, I guess. Also has more power. Anyway, I really love it, that's why I kept it.
Im thinking of buying a evo2 pickup for my own made les paul. I like to play really from instrumental metal songs to rock n roll, but what Im really looking for is a kind of unique sound that has this bassy feeling and soft sound. Would you recommend this pickup for me?
I had the Evo 2 in my PRS which was mahogany (which is what I'm guessing your LP is) and I loved it. However, it's not bassy or particularly soft. It has a very unique, midrangey tone. Although I'd recommend the Evo 2 in a second, it's probably not what you're looking for. I would try going to DiMarzio's website and use the Pickup Picker function. Good luck!
well I went to the website and looked at this super distortion pickup, It was told that it has lots of bass and not so much treble and it had got good reviews :). I think Ive found it.
hey bro...what chord (or finger positioning) do you use at :42? it sounds sweet and i'm trying to replicate it...but i can't get it right...thanks dude...rock on!
It's just a blues thing. It's the 8th fret on the B string and 7th fret on the G string. You play that and bend the G string two semitones, letting the two strings ring while you do it. Hope that helps you!
have you ever had problems with audacity? Sometimes when I try to record through audacity it does fine. But a lot of times it will start out recording fine and then it will start cutting out. You know, like a cell phone in dead zone. Ever had that problem?
Eh, sometimes... If I have a huge project and my computer will start running out of RAM and it may freeze up. I used to have problems like that in Linux. You'll record and then listen to it to find chunks of it missing. As far as I know, this has been fixed... So to answer you question: Yes, I have, but not for a while.
awesome. nice guitar...nice distortion...good use of the wah.....you stood up to play...not too shreddy ....good technique....good notes...I liked it!
Nice job man, best solo Ive heard for this competition so far, your just about the only person Ive seen who wasn't just shredding for the sake of showing off
Oh, sorry! I have an "emulated line out" on my amp's head. I line out from that to my laptop's line in. I use Audacity to record the audio. And that's it! :D
I love the JS1200. The only problem I have is with the Edge Pro; the teflon washers on the trem arm get worn quickly, so the arm doesn't stay stiff. Other then that, the JS1200 is probably the best guitar ever made. Definitely get it!
can i ask u which part u played the paf joe and which part u played on the evo 2.
EspNik 4 months ago
@EspNik Yeah, from 0:00-0:41 I used the PAF Joe and from 0:42-1:29 I used the Evo 2. From there I just used the PAF Joe again.

@samdubusc So is this pure satchurator? Are you going through the clean channel of your amp? If so that is a really good pedal
qwertyofasdf 1 year ago
@qwertyofasdf Oh yeah, Satchurator through the clean channel. I've got some delay and maybe some reverb, but that's it.
