nice. You can also replace this method( for example when it becomes way too easy) with a hanging bag with some amount of weight and then doing the same thing. after some time you can increase the amount of weight of your bag.
Is funny I came across this video, I actually do the same thing myself, with my bedroom door. And any heavy swinging doors I come across.
Only thing I wanna point out, is when you're punching the bag at the end, you appear to lean into it quite a lot, as opposed to relying on hip rotation.
Good stuff though, man. Keep the vids coming.
You should try with a vertical fist sometime. I find it works better for that type of thing.
That's unique, pushing the door,& punching-bag exercise. Your theory of Not exerting too much waist energy is unique to what I've read before, but well worth practicing for extra techniques.Thank you for posting the video!
the head turns when you start the video look really contrived haha :) great videos though none the less. I'm glad to see more people using their Tanden (or I guess it would be Dantien since you do Chinese styles) in their punches, a lot of people get lazy and never realize that's where the power is, or just plain aren't taught it( I wasn't taught it until the latter half of my 12 year training, ug). thanks for sharing!
hey intresting i figured this out when sparing with friends. you can add a lot of stuff on to it. but yes your very right put to much weight into it someone will use your own body weight against you
Excellent training method. This will help with your locking and explosive power. Well done. Your intuition to find this serves you well. I do something similar with a board on water or a hanging cotton bag. Good job with the door!
lol good stuff man what to do study? or is this just the way you train? anyway good stuff ive done somethings simaler to this and others you have done,,, cool stuff
I study in Tang Soo Do and Yang Style Tai chi. However, alot of what I do and learn is taken from experimenting myself from things my freinds do or things I have read in books, or just things I have thought up myself. Things like this arn't a heavy part of my training. Like everyone else I do my bagwork and set forms, but I do also like to try differant types of training because if you keep to one kind you will get good at the type training and not improve so much yourself.
