I accept Hinduism is about tolerance. it will accept any critical remarks, critics views but how far. if u guys just put some holy scripture modified with ur so called Independence of thought and present it in the audience with ur vision which of course showing ur sick mentality its not fine..if ur interested in history show the truth why fucking lies to gain popularity....i like Ramayana and dont want any asshole to modified it according to his/her wish
@adirider1 Just wondering, where in this film is there a statement that the artist is retelling the story exactly as Hinduism asks it be told? Did she say any of the characters are portrayed accurately? No.
If that exists then it's reasonable to criticize this work. Otherwise you're complaining about art which has always been subjective.
Who Lied to Gain Popularity:
Hitler, Stalin, George Bush Sr. and Jr., Mao, Kim Jung Il, Ahmadinejad, Asif Ali Zardari, the creators of Spam:miracle meat
I really think that the artist who crated this is very creative and I Thank him/her for making such a beautiful animation. But towards the end there is too much disrespect for the deities, such as Ram kicking Sita, or walking over her.

This is a completely wrong story if the people who made this movie had done some research then it would have been better. watch the proper ramayana then you will know what really happend. who ever made this movie is ais a fuck face that dosent know any thing about our religion, and can go fuck his mom. that nina what ever her name is is racist because she made this, any other white peopleknow what actually happend so she is racist.
@TheDJDESI I can't comment on the veracity of the story but unless one can fully immerse oneself & try to understand another culture, one should probably steer clear of things one can't comprehend. I rather thought that this was some bastardization of the story. I still think that it would be interesting for a Hindu to put together some pop version of their vision of Christianity. I think that it would be a gas but then I don't take Christianity seriously.
I honestly can't stand these blues songs, I need to fast forward them. Its strange because I usually enjoy listening to that genre of music, but in this movie, it just seems annoying. The parts I enjoy the most are with the three Indians who discuss the story.
@ClassicRockFan1220 The songs don't annoy me, but the discussions are my favorite part as well. They're just fun and it seems like there's this great chemistry between the three.
I would understand if many Hindus disagree or hate this interpretation on the Ramayana (especially since it focuses mostly on Sita and not Rama). But many have said that the film is racist, just because Nina Paley is white, thus she must be hating on Indians.
i think u have done an amazing job over here .. i really liked the movie but u gotta to be very careful if u r planning to release it in india cause there are a lot of bits in the movie that might offense the indian audience .... otherwise great job
Ooh! "Am I Blue?" I know that song! :D Batman sang it on Justice League Unlimited...Circe made him sing so she'd turn Wonder Woman back from a pig...I'll shut up now.
There's absolutely NOTHING about free speech that excludes insults or disrespect or hate.
There is nothing insulting nor disrespectful nor hateful about this video.
But, even if it were, doesn't matter. Anyone who opposes free speech deserves to die in a nuclear war.

This is very well presented. I'd love to see the MahatBharata like this. The principals project nicely. Good acting.

...I hope you're being sarcastic
India is more developed than many countries, and even the most inhospitable countries have the internet - to some degree.
Besides, I'm sure tons of Hindus wouldn't care for their religious stories being mocked.
