This game looks like it was built for screen shots. Beautiful enviorments, but flashy, but boring particle spells with translucent polygonal waves, choppy animation and lack of orginality. fight scenes make me want to kill myself, so typical 1990's RPG looking. Play this animation, display hit points, repeat. No direct interaction between the animations and the enviorment. It's 2009 people, get procedural already. Cheap ass developers don't want to pay for decient programmers.

this is just a re-packaged version of guild wars. NCSOFT has there fingers into both of these days, and the engine is the exact same.
Its like.. PS3 games such as Infamous/Assassins Creed etc. All built from the same source code. Sold off to diff. companies for a ton of money, then just modded, and sold to us again.

Visually, wow is a shit game. Even Northrend, the newest continent looks pretty bad compared to other games out recently. As far as mechanics go, wow is good, but needs a lot of improvements, especially when it comes to class balance. They keep making excuses that the game needs to be balanced around group combat, but if they just balanced it around 1v1, it would be balanced for group play. This game won't kill wow, too many casuals that will pay the monthly, but this game will be good.

it kind of looks like wow, only the combat looks faster and smoother and the flying is a whole new element to it. The visuals come from the fact that it uses the CryEngine (the engine tha powered the original far cry) and in its time it was the best looking game around so for an mmo to use this engine is pretty special. I think this game will be better than wow, but will it kill it? no chance

This is NOT version 1.0. It is old 2006 footage of the game. Take a look at the user post date. There are a few years difference between 2006 and 2009 (1.0)....And 1.5 isn't "westernize model". It is simply the latest version of aion NCsoft has released. Chances are aion is going to be the same no matter what region. Perhaps one will get patches a little later then other due to localization (Translations, adding in voices for that region, etc). Beyond that I doubt anything is different.
well i suppose because it's really the first next gen mmo, all the rest work on the 'WoW standard' so any pc can play it, and it's proven very popular in the east. I've played the demo and was pleasantly surprised to find that all this hype wasn't misplaced at all, the servers are fantastically powerful and lag was nonexistant even at fulll graphics with a crappy internet connection like mine :D
Personally graphics don't mean shit to me, for a game to be good in my eyes it has to have good gameplay and a good story, graphics are just a bonus but they don't need to be the best out there for the game to be good. I still play Morrowind and I love it, the graphics on that are horrible but the game is still one of the best RPGs out there in my opinion.
very true graphics are merely a fancy extra, like fancy ketchup, the game I'm really looking forward to is actually Guildwars 2 seeing as guildwars' gameplay was a masterpiece what with your combat ability not relying on levels but your skill and choice of abilities. (until they nerfed all the cool elite skills D:)

Actually in its graphics and anime styling it reminds me alot of FFXI. But I can see where the guildwars similarities are. I definitely see more similarities between it and FFXI. If it has good enough content and its not repetitive, Ill definitely play it.

The beta patch is actually 1.5 right now. Open Beta begins on 9/6/09 and runs through the 13th.

Boot camp, VMWare Fusion, Crossover Mac. I'd suggest looking into all three. I dont know much about any of them sadly, but google should give you all the info you need. Good luck and I hope you find what your looking for.

This is NOT version 1.0. It is old 2006 footage of the game. Take a look at the user post date. There are a few years difference between 2006 and 2009 (1.0)....And 1.5 isn't "westernize model". It is simply the latest version of aion NCsoft has released. Chances are aion is going to be the same no matter what region. Perhaps one will get patches a little later then other due to localization (Translations, adding in voices for that region, etc). Beyond that I doubt anything is different.

well i suppose because it's really the first next gen mmo, all the rest work on the 'WoW standard' so any pc can play it, and it's proven very popular in the east. I've played the demo and was pleasantly surprised to find that all this hype wasn't misplaced at all, the servers are fantastically powerful and lag was nonexistant even at fulll graphics with a crappy internet connection like mine :D

Personally graphics don't mean shit to me, for a game to be good in my eyes it has to have good gameplay and a good story, graphics are just a bonus but they don't need to be the best out there for the game to be good. I still play Morrowind and I love it, the graphics on that are horrible but the game is still one of the best RPGs out there in my opinion.

very true graphics are merely a fancy extra, like fancy ketchup, the game I'm really looking forward to is actually Guildwars 2 seeing as guildwars' gameplay was a masterpiece what with your combat ability not relying on levels but your skill and choice of abilities. (until they nerfed all the cool elite skills D:)

Actually in its graphics and anime styling it reminds me alot of FFXI. But I can see where the guildwars similarities are. I definitely see more similarities between it and FFXI. If it has good enough content and its not repetitive, Ill definitely play it.

Same producer doesnt mean its the same developer. Aions dev team recycled a lot of GW armor concepts. Its an incredible g ame though
