  • I made these tonight, they were really good, but I think I'll have to play around with the batter a little more. I use whole wheat flour and it didn't work as well as white flour would. I also used unsweetened almond milk, which made them low calorie and extra tastey (think almondy crepe... mm!)

  • @itseffinsexxitime Letting it rest for such a relatively short time is extremely unlikely to produce bacteria levels which are a health concern.

    It is more likely to get food poisoning from using plastic cutting boards for example.

    also, only ~ 1 in 60,000 eggs has a chance to be infected with salmonella, and of those not every one will make the average person sick.

    The milk you buy at the store is most likely pasteurized, too, so it won’t contain any harmful bacteria.

  • Question! I was wondering, can you substitute regular flour if you do not have cake flour? Thank you, Francis ^_^

  • @xpinay4lifex in general; no. cake flour is more finely milled and rises/responds to heat differently than all-purpose flour. you can substitute a 1:7 mix of cornstarch to cake flour, though. so for the 100g cake flour required for this recipe, substitute a mixture of 12.5 g cornstarch + 87.5 g all-purpose flour. that should work.
