  • damn this is beatiful, it sounds almost like a swedish nyckelharpa with that haunting sound, except that the nyckelharpa is played with a bow, you are really talented! :D whats the name of the second jig? =)

  • This is so sad that this music is forgotten by the masses

  • Absolute magic, to my ear its a humbling type of music, ,so simple, childlike, yet i'm

sure quite technical, well done you are a good musician, sounds like you feel your

music, all the best Russ in the UK. ps Blackbird good to.

  • Oh hey! I heard that song before. Floggin Moley used it for the tune for the song Salty Dog.

    btw: Your amazing at that!

  • You sucks

  • really great...

  • please, could you say me how does this instrument cost and where can I bought it?

    thank you very much

  • i rather enjoy this now.

  • Thanks for playing & showing this instrument, very unique. I'll bet it has film sound-track possibilities for sure.

  • I've never heard a hammered dulcimer in person, are you using a reverb or is it actually that ambient? Great playing by the way!

  • @MikeGlassVideos No effects whatsoever, actually. Thank you. It really does have a magical sound.

  • nice one bro ha givin ya some guitar accompaniment you tube style

  • @rossbj138 Oh, you should record that and upload it. I'd totally feature it on my channel. :)

  • so is this a percussion instrument or string? it's not important, I'm just curious... love the music, excellent playing.

  • Keep up the good work you are a natural. This is my favorite instrament

  • i've also enjoyed all of your music.

  • @27Soulsblade Thank you for saying that. I really do appreciate this kind of generous feedback. Playing this instrument is fun by itself...having someone say they enjoy it is double the fun. :)

  • This is genious!

    Awesome!

  • wasnt this song on titanic at the party?

  • Indeed it was.

  • well, this is a mix between the Kesh Jig and Calliope House. The songs that were on Titanic were The Blarney Pilgrim and John Ryan's polka

  • oh cool!

  • @peppyvalina but also the kesh jig is in titanic.it plays just before drowsy maggie in the party in 3rd class

  • Yep, it is ^^

  • why is it sooo small lol

  • hmm,any1 know were i can find notes for this version?

  • epic

  • Sounds great!

  • woooow!!! fantasticooo!!!

    como se llama ese instrumento??????

  • se llama "hammered dulcimer" en español es un tipo de "salterio"

  • awsome!!!!thats all i want to say!!!

  • That is a great job! thanks for sharing! terry

  • I'd love to take up hammer dulcimer. I think it would be a good instrument for me to play, because I have breathing problems, which I means I can't play wind instruments, and arthritis, which means complicated finger placements are hard. Oh, If only I didn't need corset bones and a new inkle loom, I'd get one right away.

  • I have low lung capacity which makes playing anything that you play by breathing into it hard, that's why I'd like to learn a string or percussion instrument..

  • You're cats are adorable by the way.

I'd like to learn piano, but I've tried and failed miserably. Hammered Dulcimer seems a good compromise.

  • "...a good compromise" To me, that's kind of like saying "I'd like to learn to walk, but I've tried and failed, so running the 200m hurdles seems like a good compromise"

  • What was the name of the second melody? I recognize it but i can't seem to recall the name of that song

  • I love the sound of a dulcimer! Great sound!

  • Hmmm....a very different sound for me. Never the less, very whimsical and beautiful.

    Two big thumbs up!! ^__^

  • What a beautiful sound! Great job!

  • Words can't describe how brilliant this is, keep it coming :D

  • wow! it is fantastic! i never heard a sound like this.. *-* i'm fall in love with this strument!!!!

  • I LOVE THE HAMMERED DULCIMER!!!!

I got to try it at a camp I went to, and I might be getting one very soon for myself and i really hope so.

    WOOT GOOD JOB!!!!!

  • WOW GOOD JOB Dont stop playing cause your really good.

  • love it!! wonderful sound! and to think i had no clue its called a dulcimer

  • ah, so that's a dulcimer. i've always seen that setting on my keyboard and often wondered what it was. now i know.

and play beautifully by the way.

  • Thank you. :)

  • that's awesome..me and my husband are musicians...well he plays guitar and piano by ear..makes me sick.. haha..but I sing so we have lots of fun together..that's a unique talent to have..don't think I've seen anyone actually play one

  • Aw, thank you...playing the HD is so much fun and it has such a grand sound. That's what caught me when I first discovered it. :)

  • Ohhh this one may be my fave. I love the last of the mohicans soundtrack and I love Clannad and others of that nature...so this fits in with all that. Are you Irish?

  • Yup...German/Irish mix. Which means I have a BIG temper. *laugh*

  • ohhh there is NOTHING like a good row. it just mixes things up gloriously and clears the air. I am a sucker for germans. Not sure what it is but there ya go.

  • Well, since I am my father's son, you can imagine the rows we have on occassion! *laugh* He's a good boy, though. Hard working. Yes, I brag...but he's never gotten below an A on a report card. *chest swells*

  • This the most dificult instrument for playing, isn't it?

  • Actually, I found that it's very easy to learn. I love it. :)

  • Unfortunately, I use copyrighted music behind some of my talking ones...but I should move away from that, as well. By the way, Twish is wonderful, isn't she?

  • Oh gee!! If I subscribe, do you promise to post alot more of these? I LOVE the medi-evil sound it produces. :P

  • I promise! Actually, I've gotten behind since coming out of my shell to do actual speaking vids, haha. Thank you!

  • LOL I deleted all my 'behind the shell videos' mainly because of the numerous copyrighted tracks I used and the fact that they were all very weird.

  • Nice job! So this is the updated version of the video? Lots of fun to play isn't it!

  • Thanks, yes this is the new one. I'm right now uploading an original composition...it's incomplete and am asking for input from other players on helping to add to it. I've had this much done for a year...and can't think of anything else. :)
