I have an MD friend who is a professor and researcher at a major medical school, who says that 51% of medical costs are administration and other costs NOT providing medicine and rehabilitation.

Is that not the crux of the problem? and a major reason that we pay too much here in the USA? In Europe costs average 60% less.

Medicare's paperwork costs: 3%. Private insurance: 15%!

Hard to ignore that every other developed country in the world has single payer of some type, and their medical costs average around 60% of what we pay here. Remember, these are democracies, and the people can dump it if they want.

Here the insurance "industry" and paperwork costs skim about 45% off the top. This is what needs to be addressed. Cut out the middleman.

Maybe they will get it after Scott Brown won Massachusetts tonight. If they have any sense now they will get it. Also today two Republican Governors were sworn in....one in Virginia and one in New Jersey.

The democrat party plan B is how they are going to beat Sarah Palin in 2012. If an anti-abortion conservative republican like Brown can win in MA then Palin can win anywhere since she and Brown are about 100% agreement on the issues. Dems are already conceding that 2010 will be a disaster maybe losing both houses.

Why should they mention a DailyKoS poll which is clearly from an organization who is in the tank for Democrats? Its the ONLY poll out of many which doesn't show Brown ahead. What? Are you afraid to mention that its a KOS poll? Why would you not want to mention the name of the poll since you think they are credible?

@KyleRoku It doesn't really matter, even or ahead, it says a lot for what the Democrats are in store for come November. This Massachusetts race should have been a shoe in for any Democrat running for the seat, but it isn't.

Most of the polls are either robocalls (some unaccountable) or sponsored by one side or the other. Caputo didn't identify the name of one of the two polls he mentioned either. How about PJM/CrossTarget? Nobody ever heard of that one until a few days ago. Who are they calling? The real poll is tomorrow. We will both see what happens.

United we stand, divided we fall. If compromise is no longer possible, America will, indeed, fail. It won't be just President Obama that will fail, as some wish.

single payer is a fucking horrible idea. then again so is an obama administration... and we're dealing with that... as much as we can. personally i think healthcare needs to stay private... the gov't needs not to intervene... they don't solve anything... and it's too expensive for the tax payer... i don't want to pay for your illness. call me selfish... but i don't.
