  • same here man, i heard it on Adventureland, great ending.

  • Man what INXS would've done, RIP..

  • ... agree with the sentiment mate, but more importantly, what they DID do... I haven't heard this song in a decade and just searched it and said, 'wow, still as good as the first time'... cheers, from Boston, USA

  • heard this on Adventureland! nice song to a cool ending

  • me 2

  • R.I.P GOOD MUSIC!

  • damn i still said that the 80's were the best, im from the 90's but how i would like to witness the great 80's the music and groups were totally bad ass, not like the ones of the present

sad loss of the inxs vocalist he had an amazing voice

  • Amazing stuff, reminds me of Sonic Youth a bit.

  • Are you ignorant or a troll?

  • what kind of question is that? I remember waiting in line for INXS tickets with other fans for this tour. but comon, thats what the dude did. get over it.

  • I stand corrected. But it is a troll tactic to say something that will outrage fanboys in order to get a reaction.

  • amazing amazing song

  • sad loss to the music industry raw talent inxs were the best. a massive influence on a lot of the bands of the late 80s

  • when he say "don't change for you" doesn't it kinda sound like his saying "don't change the eath"?

  • i thought he was saying earth too .. hmm

  • Love these guys, and this video....they were so young! Mullets R Us. But that is how it was back then. What a terrible waste that Michael is gone, so sad for this world to lose him.

  • so many memories..

  • Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 22 November 1997)

  • this was when I FIRST watched Mtv

  • this is a inxs classic everytime I hear it tears come up in my eyes because it is true Inxs and a great song.

  • Me too...This was the start of it all for me..., and oh, how I loved them, and still do to this very day...I miss Michael sooo much...:(

  • Well done INXS

    Miss you guys!

  • One of the best Inxs songs ever...you could tell from an early age what a brilliant band they were to become.

  • I bet this video costs $50 to make. No, scratch that. Maybe $100 if they bought lunch for everyone. It looks like my dads garage.

  • scratch that $100, look at all that hair spray. Add $5

  • great tune,,jm

  • They do look so young there.the song sounds even better live but great neverthe less.

  • INXS were great and then Michael died and then they tried to revive it with new singers and it sounds shit

  • the best sound from inxs up with 80s

  • The drummer is just tooo hot!

  • LOVE this song. It's so cool to see how young they were when they made this. They all look like kids!

  • Back when videos were basic and that was good.....excellant tune R.I. P Michael

  • I agree, this is one of the best songs ever, and one of the best videos too cuz you can see them actually PLAY it. They prolly spent like $100 on this video and it could not get any better. Yeah, I know they're lip synching but who cares - this is great. Videos shouldn't try to entertain you, they should show the band playing the damn song. When there's a guitar solo, show the damn guitar solo don't cut away. It's not rocket science.

  • Agree 10000000% and why are all the videos about getting loaded and half naked girls now??

  • WOW..Totally my favorite song by INXS,, that and Johnsons Aeroplane. I saw them in concert in San Diego in 1989 4 rows back from the stage..They rocked!

Michals voice was so deep and clear just beautiful.

  • wow the lead singer is so young

  • this song is in constant rotation in my ipod

  • this song has got some kick to it

  • amazing song

  • They were the essence of the 80s, excellent band.

  • aah pure genius - they used to play out on this one live and it was always immense!

  • When this first came out on MTV I liked it but now i realize this song freaking rocks!!!

  • Sorry so very Mic Jager Love it !!!!!

  • brilliant. thats all.

  • the by afi, is the BEST eva

  • their drummer is/was amazing. met him once, super cool person and totally hillarious guy too.

  • drummer? yep he is. even though it was simple, i really liked his drumming in the Just Keep Walking vid.

  • yep, he lets the song dictate the playing. so do a lot of drummers, but he's different. he's very crisp and good. i remember watching a video of how they chose him. he won some national drumming contest. he was into punk music.

  • Im 40 and had lost someone I loved dearly decades ago. Finally sitting in a friends car (who I thought was not gay) turns to me and kisses me Deeply. I told him he made me happy for the first time in decades, 2 minuts later the cops came and even though we were only parked really harrased us. They accused us of doing drugs, which they found none. In my head I could hear this song "no evil in all directions" "a love I had lost". Only 2 minutes of happieness for me after decades of suffering : (

  • little penis, i mean LittleCarbon,

    grow a dick, loser.

  • slut hewa

  • cunt stinka

  • i thought that was a cool story

    screw everyone else

  • Awesome song. It's hard to stop playing it through your head. The background keyboard really makes it.

  • I never hear this song on the radio anymore. Just the other INXS songs. 80s rule until 2080

  • great song.i always thought 80s suck.but this song chnged my percerption..

  • this song is soooo underrated...I feel it's their best, what makes a song timeless...California dreamin. Born to run. Clocks. this song still resinates.

  • This band will always be one of my favorite bands I loved them in the eighties and now. R.I.P Micheal

  • love the opening; they just jump down

    awesome song!

  • I saw INXS 40 times during a 52 week residency at the Baywiew Hotel in Gladesville 1980/81 and to me this is the way I will always remember the band. Fun, cool and an excellent live band and you know what - those Farriss brothers can really play music!!

  • Beautiful song.

  • Great song.

  • One of the few good 80's band. Mmm hmm.

  • If you're serious, you have no taste.

  • few good 80's?? the bad music in the 80's is better than the good music now

  • This song is at the end of the movie Adventureland. Great movie and great song.

  • lol love that film - literally jumped out my seat when this song came on :) they got sooo many gd 80's songs in that film :D xoxo

  • SURFING

  • Oh Tim!!! I just HAD to see this again!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • From Shaboo shabaa I think..(dog on the cover)

  • Just rented a movie a couple weeks ago that had this in closing credits...awesome

  • Yeah, Adventureland! Great movie.

  • Good Job mong, Adventureland! Song really nailed the movie and time...

  • Sure did. Did you like the movie?

  • Hells Yeah...never worked as a carney but grew up in the mid-west in the late 80's workin at resturants and party stores and gettin high...liked how the movie kept it simple and not over the top

  • Lol. I heard this song on that movie. Had to hear it again after first seeing it on Live aid 85. Great song!

  • INXS brings me back to my high school days in the mid eighties.

  • INXS definitely one of the best bands of the 80's next to Def Leppard, U2, and Duran Duran. I don't think we will ever have good music like the 80's again.

  • the goo goo dolls really did a great job on this song. actually thee goo´s is better. more real

  • No they didn't and no it isn't.

  • Fantastic song!!

  • One of the best songs ever.... Top 100.

The best INXS song by far.

  • Seems like yesterday... poor, sweet Michael...

  • it takes me back wow life was good mike you will be in are hearts always you made a lot of happy times for every one

  • As someone who used to do the same - it is an addiction like anything else (BTW-turning off his gas is so freakin' derogatory)!!!

  • What a tragedy! Why did Michael have to turn his own gas off? Saddest death since Jim Morrison.

  • This is a proper love song for me. Not soppy or pretentious. Just genuine. When you're in love, you don't want your love to change, do you?

  • after you meat her , you change whatever you like it or not!.......you can't be you!it's impossibile !!

  • no one can sing or sway like Michael....he had the swagger!

  • oh how i love him in this video... inxs were the best band ever...

  • wow ! havent hurd this song in a lifetime, really transports my mind

    back to a simple time......

  • i want be in that simple time!......but icant!

  • the early 90s where pretty cool before (or i should say) at the beginning of the

computer era, before the cell phone

boom, hell this is a great time also !

enjoy it and soak it up.....

  • hey postpunkoholic one other thing i doo

is just pop in that CD find a spot out in

the midle of nowhere to be alone after

dark and enjoy the moon and starz,,

sounds strange but its a good release..

  • Absolutely one of my favorite songs from back in the day! Take me back now!!!!!!

  • Take me with ya!

  • Timmy's buns look so awesome in this video!!!!

  • afis cover of this...is was different

  • ah adventureland brought this and many other great songs to me :)

  • Me too!

  • No one can replace Micheal in INXS. I sure do miss him.

  • Well JD didn't do too badly.

  • Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!nice days!!

  • hey georgie689, did u like the movie adventureland? it reminded me of the days back in the 80s!! i liked it, and would watch it again. cool song, by the way!! forgot about this song!!

  • Dear Youtube:

FUCK YOU and your forced advertising. You want to put an ad at the bottom that I have to click-off so you can support your servers? Fine. But if you FORCE me have to watch advertising, I'm simply going to watch a different video instead. Stop being such greedy mother you know whats.

  • Ahhhhh......the old Shabooh Shoobah... Damn that was a great album. Cool times....

  • this song holds special meaning to me

  • fuck advertisemts

  • They play this song at the end of Adventureland!! Love it!

  • That is where I cam back to remember the song

  • I remember this video, I was only a teenager, great!!! Miss you Michael

  • this was an amazing high energy video that blew us away when it came out...it is still great and it is a shame it has not been viewed more...

  • I just watched a movie with this song in it, brought back memories, good shit!

  • INXS, The Police, U2, and Billy Idol. They still stand up for me after all these years.

  • When these guys first came out, I lumped them in with New Wave and the Preppies. Looking back, they were a great harder rock band.

  • Michael lives and is on an island with Elvis and now MJ

  • Unless you were there and lived it, you can't believe the freedom we had......the music, the carefree life was great. Hindsight is 20/20.

  • The best Australian band of all time. RIP Michael

  • Sorry, I have to put AC/DC and Angel City over INXS.

  • who is Angel City?

  • Angel City is what the Angels renamed themselves as when they tried to crack the US market.

  • this is an awsome song. it brings back some major memories both good and not so good but i wouldnt trade them for anything

  • That main riff is so cool.

  • It probably doesn't get better than that -- at least it hasn't yet (2009)

  • 1 Don't change

    2 Mistify

    3 Never Tear us Apart

    4 Need You Tonight

    5 Devilinside

  • why was everyone so 'twitchy' in the 80s??

  • Are there any loud fucking song then this shit

  • LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bring back the 80's please.....

  • I came here because of the Everclear cover, maybe this band is better than I thought

  • One of my top five best songs INXS yeahhh

  • Wow, my age has totally hit me. I'm sorry that everyone has to search for who this song is sung by...

  • See no evil.... in all directions !!!!

  • Wow. This song is pretty damn good and vastly different than the hit INXS songs. I heard this song in Adventureland...had no clue it was INXS. All I knew from INXS was the hit songs, that are, in my opinion, lame.

  • Totally concur...just watched Adventureland and was wondering "who is singing this song" its very cool

  • Weird, I just watched Adventureland as well, I *never* knew who sang this, even though I know the words.

  • Wow I just watched that movie tonight as well! I love this song, perfect song for the ending! Small World!

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think "Never Tear Us Apart" is lame? listen to that hit song please.

  • Takes me back to high school. God, am I old! My favorite INXS song.

  • Can't be duplicated, never sounded like other bands. They paved their own road.

  • im agreeing with cocoabonohead todays music is just all about the image and whats the "now" even though i wasnt born when this came out , i can still get the message their trying to put out and like with all of their songs. bands like inxs and u2 cared more about why you listened to their music than more about their image

  • One of my fave bands ever!!! Hands down my fave song & video of theirs...RIP Michael H.

  • yea, freakin' love this song

  • brilliant band, music was more creative in the 80's. The music today is a cesspool of mushy whiny pop hip hop rap shit written by human garbage. It helps perpetuate underachievement.

  • I LOVE this band and this song. However, people in the eighties said precisely what you are saying here about eighties music. There is always great music ...you just have to be willing to look for it.

  • I agree...To find musicians who are actually trying to make good meaningful music you have to dig...But there are some out there today...Some who are making some excellent music...Futureheads, Bright Eyes, Joe Pug, Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, Arcade Fire, Robert Francis, (Earlier) Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros, Wilco, and M. Ward just to name a few....Seek these guys out if you want to find actually good current music...

  • You sound like you're a Paste magazine fan... I just signed up for their VIP digital pass for like 3 bucks a month and got 20 something free albums- like Joe Pug, Andy Schauf, Modern Skirts, Damion Suomi, Floating Action, Great Lake Swimmers, William Elliot Whitmore. I'll check out the bands you've mentioned here... Thanks. Check out Griffin House.

  • I've actually never heard of Paste magazine...But I can vouch for Joe Pug...Saw the guy live supporting Josh Ritter and own his first EP....Man can write a song...And even better, he can deliver a line like a pro....

  • I'm 16 and i'm pissed that I didn't grow up in the 80's The 80's seemed like the best. The music, the movies, the culture etc.. Everything is all shit emo and rap music that sucks. Why can't it go back to times like this?

  • The culture sucked. We were stuck with Ronald Reagan and big hair. Dont glorify it too much.

  • Reaganomics sucked and so did hairspray, but the popular music from this time, conveyed much more of a fuckin' message than the shit that's produced for mass radio today, and that's a fact.

  • true dat

  • true dat

  • i hear you on that one man

  • This might be my favorite video ever. It is so damn pure.

  • They are fuckin' pure. Unbelieveable timeless songwriting.

  • Megadeth Slayer.... I feel bad for teenagers today. The music scene is WEAK! The 2000's so far has got to be the worst decade for music since the 1940's. Shitty emo rock that all sounds the same, some generic pop hits by pre-pube child bands and lifeless rap songs with stolen samples & beats. As much as I hated the 80's when I was a teen I will admit to loving the New Wave & Metal music it produced. There are a couple newer bands copying the California New Wave sound from the early 80's.

  • guess what bitches? I heard it BEFORE adventureland came out haha. nah i'm only 16 but this is the kind of stuff i WISH i grew up with! such an awesome song followed by a kickass band!

  • lol thats what i heard it on too..adventureland...the songs perfect for that spot in the movie, i love this song!!

  • same here:)

  • i just heard this song in the credits of the movie Adventureland, ok best sweetest ending ever and this song is amazing i could listen to it all day longXD

  • I always thought there was a solemn tone to this song, but that's what I like about it. Talk about a blast from the past.

  • Forgot about this one, great song.

  • Yeah Shabooh Shaabah was their turning point. With "The One thing" and the iconic "Don't Change", and the underrated "To Look At You".

Grinspoon tried a cover, and while good did not beat the original.

    Iconic Aussie song.

  • I forgot about this. Them riding in on the truck. I love that. Micheal used to dance so crazy

  • dope band.

  • This song is amazing! the lyrics are so powerful. This is also in the credits of Adventureland

  • Underrated. Let's not forget this amazing band. How can this video have only 77,000 views?????!!!!!!!

  • Remember playing this tape over and over, great album as a whole.

  • This is by far my favorite song by them! It's going to make a comeback if my book becomes a movie. Wish me luck!!

  • Sounds just like "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon. Hmmm...

  • and that surprises you that a modern band steals an idea from an early 80's song?
