  • its what the queen of our hearts wouldve wanted

  • @TreacleMary

I don´t like MM either but even he is funnier than this fat faced fuck.

Funniest of all though is you, you witless, repulsive cunt.

  • Even the subtlety of the "9th of November" bit... He is a genius. Need to book tickets

  • A mate of mine went to see all the flowers, and cards n stuff in Aug 1997. And he saw a little black Dinky toy Mercedes, that someone had smashed with a hammer, and broken the windscreen!!!!

  • Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart Stuart/Stewart and so on...

  • clvere sutff......

  • lol I better go down the shops and buy a lifesize inflatable E.T. before they run out

  • And Diana was just one person dying. In a car crash.

Versus, several buildings being destroyed and thousands of people murdered in such a terrifying way in what was declared by their enemy to just be the first blow in a religious war they did not expect nor want.

  • @Treblaine

Personally, I find it hard to compare the two. Diana was an accidental death caused by excessive hounding by the paparazzi in a desperate bid to make a quick buck. 9/11 was symbolic murder caused by politics.

  • @Terramax I think Lee only got away with this comparison by the backhand reference to it as "9th of November" so quickly many might miss it as a joke on difference in US and UK date format.

FYI, Both US AND UK have it wrong. UK has it day-month-year. US has it month-day-year, when the International Format is Year-Month-Day, the only sensible format in decreasing magnitude in pattern with clocks' hour-minute-second. So both are half right, half wrong.

  • @69ulrika Don't worry, there's plenty of Michael McIntyre on YouTube for you to watch instead.

  • I like his style of comedy, but I can't imagine how he got his start, I don't think his style would work well at open mics and that.

  • @heatbucspies55 Most of his early work was as a double act with Richard Herring and not as abstract as what he does now.

  • @spackstic

    Ah, that makes sense.

A lot fo guys who do very strange or off beat stuff got their start doing more normal comedy, I think.

They waited till they got a little fame, than they did riskier, less common type stuff.

  • I just don't like how long it takes to hit the joke, the joke's fantastic however. I still prefer the likes of Frankie Boyle and Michael Mcintyre.

  • @nobz9 You think you know know where the scissors are, but you don't! you THINK you know but you don't know where the scissors are! The scissors are hiding! Yeah I can see why you like mcintyre, biting observational humour there.

  • This is absolutely worth the wait.

  • @WadeBarrat Where is he? I'll get him.

  • @WadeBarrat I keep going till they shut up, as they rarely have any intelligence to bring to the argument!

  • an inflatable ET? We should go out and get one, there'll be a rush on . . . Brilliant stuff

  • nooo! not the queen of hearts! the rose of england!

  • People I would like to ask you for help that is a little related to this video. I've got this on mp3 and when the Diana part finishes, some reggae song starts with lady singing...does anybody know who is it by? Before I go insane...

  • @peterjanovcik Use Shazaam, if you have android/Iphone, download the app, you can get free trial version.

  • im sorry but i just found this so tedious, i gave up halfway through

  • @Xanthe120 i got bored of ur comment halfway through it

  • @Xanthe120 you fucking Taiwanese idiot

  • @fleamarket3000 im not taiwanese im english you racist moron

  • Stewart Lee. Twat.

yes, i took the time out of my day to come and write this. he's that much of a cunt.

  • @VaughanDavies1 Good for you, champ!

  • @VaughanDavies1 yes, you took the time out of your day to come and write that. you're that much of a cunt.

  • comedy genius

  • 42 people idiots.

  • Can't. Stop. Laughing.

  • scotland and wales and bits of ireland hahaha

  • ☑ yea

  • @1thegreatwhiteshark

But my mother's not dead! You must have the wrong person. Bye!

  • Best UK stand-up comedian. Thanks for uploading.

  • Oh god I miss this comedy club so much.

  • The fact that Lee has loads of 'PC gone MAAAAAAAAAAAAAD' trolls on his video means he must be doing something right. You might not agree with his opinions or find him funny but surely you can see how well constructed his sets are? And yes, anything that's a bit different or a bit clever will attract pretentious pricks but that doesn't make it any less different or clever.

  • Comedy aside, he comes across as a very thoughtful person.

  • Here's a hilarious video, put on this site to make people laugh.

I think I'll go to the comments section and have a pointless argument about crap.

  • @TheGreatwhiteshark84 You aren't funny or smart either son. Who do you suggest we watch instead? Give us your idea of what you regard as funny? I've never watched or commented on something that i dont like. Its pointless, negative, immature, and ignorant of others opinions. Fuck off and watch Russell Kane or something.

  • @TheGreatwhiteshark84

    Is that you, Ben Elton?

  • Funniest stand up out there.. looks a bit like a middle aged rockabilly... which is no bad thing.

  • Funniest stand up out there..looks a bit like a middle aged rockabilly.. which is no bad thing.

  • @TheGreatwhiteshark84 seems pretty funny to me, never heard of him before but this guy is definitely funny. i like this, im probably gonna check out more of his stuff, not to see how unfunny it is either.

  • Why watch and then comment on something you don't like? I'm smart, I know it, but there are smarter people than me. I don't think I'm smart because I watch Stuart Lee, i already knew it before i saw him. Stuart Lee is funny, like it or not, he's earns a living performing comedy. So what the sad people that take the time to watch something they don't like and try to spoil others enjoyment think, is irrelevant! Bellends.

  • @mgeorge733 People are allowed to watch things they think might be interesting to watch and then criticise it or praise it if they want to. There is nothing

  • @AutumnCherry I dont know anyone who does this though! There are a milion other more positive ways to spend your time. get a hold of yourselve. People like these are the reason the world is full of so many irritating worthless ignorant cunts.

  • @AutumnCherry I dont know anyone who does this! do you? There are a milion other more positive ways to spend your time. Time to get a hold of yourself. People like these are the reason the world is full of so many irritating worthless ignorant cunts.

  • @mgeorge733 Yes, I do it and so do my friends. If I watch a film or youtube video and I think its rubbish then I will comment on it and say why I think its rubbish. I don't see what's wrong with having an opinion.

  • @AutumnCherry Why don't you get a little group together, maybe have a little meeting at each others houses every week, and watch them together? Get some pringles and salsa dip, some snacks..Then you can analyse what you dont like about the videos that you waste your time watching, and talk about it together. by the way, let me know when you die, so i can put an inflatable E.T on your grave.

  • @mgeorge733 Er, I do actually like Stewart Lee... I don't see why you're so offended by the thought of others not liking things you do though...

  • Comment removed

  • @faustbanana Stuart/Stewart, both correct spellings of the same name. u no wat i ment tho innit.

  • @mgeorge733 can't spell his name though can you?

  • Comment removed

  • @mgeorge733 Your not smarter enough to check the correct spelling of Stewart Lee. Which is in big bold letters at the top of the screen

  • @chaoscave You're not smart enough to read the rest of the comments after the initial post.

  • @chaoscave You're also not 'smarter enough' to write 'smart enough' correctly. Ironic isn't it!?

  • Is that all you've got!!!!!! "I won't hit reply so he might miss the comeback!" Ah.... boring

  • What a sad case.

  • and the reason I say DM & DE is because they way you speak falls into the exact profile of a typical reader!

  • @chalkus Looks like I got under your skin. You are self-identified leftist. Therefore can't think outside of crass stereotypes and grubby little generalizations. It doesn't matter how many times you keep asserting falsities it won't make it true little man. But not like you care. I read the all papers the mail, times, guardian, telegraph. The times when I buy offline. No you sad little prick, I don't criticize for any other reason then how deluded, conceited, and obnoxious you people sound.

  • @Underground906 So now hypocrisy, a very childish response. to summarise it, "you're a liar."

You kid, are the one that is deluded and clutching at straws... I suggest you go and read a book or two to learn something.

  • @chalkus What an unedifying experience. A typical pseudo-intellectual with no grasp of logic or coherent reasoning. I tell honestly I read a wide variety of views and papers, am not a political ideologue, or one wing exclusively, and it's not me telling the truth and there for your stunted generalizations being false, but me being the liar. Go read a book on critical thinking and how to think logically, without all these logical fallacies. Please. If anyone needs to read up on things it's you.

  • @Underground906 Hypocritical clap trap. You are evidently of one wing exclusively and it is very easy to identify which. Your rhetoric is typical and cliched. Get back to school and work out where you have gone wrong and lost the plot on this occasion. I.e. Your reactionary posts, you evident dislike for anything truly critical, your deliberate misrepresentation on the definition of 'fact' and so on.

Your language is a facade... its a real shame you let your emotions get the better of you

  • @chalkus Like I said. Learn some critical thinking and logic. It's not that hard. Don't be one of these idiots who can't separate their beliefs from what's actually true. I often give forceful replies over the net to rattle people out of their comfort zone. If you think that is the mark of the average hard-right conservative, you're complete mad.

  • @Underground906 Ah, so thats why you come across in such a contradictory, hypocritical, stereotypical, cliched and false way.

Problem being here, your one consitency has been your right-wing rhetoric... it isn't 'forceful replies' it was utter tosh and transparent, as is your attempted escape from stupidity. Try harder or don't bother kid...

  • Comment removed

  • @chalkus Just fuck off mate. You're trolling now. You're completely fucking ridiculous. What right-wing rhetoric you arse? Don't waste my time any further. So i criticized feminists and Leftists here on this thread because there are a load of them and they're just as big an moron as you. So what? Doesn't make me a right-wing DM or DE reader you sad cunt. You've been desperately trying to fit into some ridiculous stereotype of a right-winger you have. Just stop, you annoying, pointless prick.

  • @Underground906 Again, subjective. We are actually both trolling if you want to define it accurately - but then, you don't deal in facts do you?! Then you descend into pathetic aggression, drawing the only conclusion possible - you are intellectually bereft and despite you repeated attempts to convince yourself otherwise, it has not changed anything. If its wasting your time, you should stop, I'm quite enjoying this.

    Next stupid comment please...........

  • Comment removed

  • About as funny as a dose of clap.......40 or 50 minutes to think 'HOW DID THAT GET THERE'!!!!

  • @DRSTRANGELOVE105 Hey, don't you dare point out how transparently contrived and unimaginative it is to these people and burst their little bubble. How else are these thick people going to think they have superior intelligence over others if not through watching a carefully honed act from Stewert Lee making a 'gag' last for some considerable length even though the punch line was immediately obvious and the bit at the end simply unfunny and unpleasant vitriol with no comedic value? That's cruel.

  • He looks like a cross between Roland Gift and Darren Clarke. And he's very funny.

  • Ha he says ninth of November- 9/11 to us- at the start, and no one picks up on it.

  • @mankytoes No-one picks up on it apart from about a dozen people in the comments

  • stewart lee..comedian for the thinking man .. or woman (political correctness validated)

  • I've never watched comedy in slow motion before. . .

  • Neckbeard @ 6:27.

  • 41 people are shrieking grieving twats.

  • @MrScruffleton you are a pillock!

  • Comment removed

  • He said 9th November not 11th September. Mong.

  • @MrScruffleton That was a joke... don't worry if you didn't get it the audience didn't either. (sorry if you were being sarcastic)

  • @MrScruffleton Uh, yes, its deliberate. Because in the UK, our dates are written differently. Whereas you put the month first, then the day, we do it the other way around. So here, 9/11 WOULD be the 9th of november, NOT the 11th of september. Its a deliberate joke he puts in to take the piss out of the american date system. Good god....

  • @Oreztar I don't think he's taking the piss... is he? it sounds like a genuine mistake.

  • @markyboy27able stewart lee is a very intelligent man. i'm fairly sure he knows the correct date of the largest terrorist attack in the 20th century.

  • @MrsPopeJohnPaul I wonder why he would do that. As you can see from the clip, there is no response from the audience so it doesn't seem to be a joke. I think you can make a mistake and still be intelligent.

  • @markyboy27able or maybe the audience missed the joke. it happens a lot with stew.

  • @MrsPopeJohnPaul yea maybe.

  • @MrsPopeJohnPaul you can hear one person laugh a little bit in the background.

  • @markyboy27able Nope, trust me, its a joke. Hes just very deadpan so it sounds genuine. I think I remember him talking about it once, its really just a piss take out of the American system of dating things.

  • @Oreztar ah well, if he talked about the dating system before, then this makes more sense. Just watching this clip is a little too deadpan.

  • @Oreztar

Americans do not understand dry humour :)

  • @MrScruffleton LOL you are a fucking retard.

  • if you dont like it dont watch it ffs

  • this guy is about as funny as a fire in an orphanage !

  • @MrAndysoul wow, you have a weird sense of humor.

  • dislike this guy intensely. you know when you hate someone so much you have to watch that video just to cringe for a bit? yeah. just done that.

  • For me, funny isn't the issue. It's soooooooo Booooooring.

How can the audience endure this. So slow it's like watching custard set.

  • @MrNoqlu I turned it off and watched the fire go out !

  • I don't even see why he get's called 'politically correct'? it's just irony, satire and brilliantly timed deadpan.

  • Stewart Lee is a truly over-rated comedian...and to top it all, as a person he is a complete cunt and i wish him nothing but a life full of agony, heartache and ultimately, a painful and prolonged death!

  • @irongoatball You've met him then, have you? He seems like a really decent chap from what I can gather. One of the few comedians that lives by the liberal values that he has on stage. Refusing to do adverts or overly commercial gigs, refusing to work with companies that are sponsored by Nesle and stuff. Most comedians are hypocrites in that respect.

  • @patchworkpants I met him, when I was younger, back in the days of 'fist of fun'. He was perfectly polite. Shy, even.

  • Did he say the 9th of November?

  • @ghspeedyg Yes. After all, it is 9/11.

  • It was an Alf!!!

  • Haha, the ninth of November!

  • Absolute shite !

who on this feckin planet could stay awake long enough to even raise a smile

    Boring drivel at it's worst

    Bring back Bernard Manning !

  • @MrAndysoul ....yeah, I agree, I totally would prefer a xenophobic cunt with the social conscience of the EDL's head of extracurricular activities.

  • @MrAndysoul Yes! lets dig up his rotten maggot infested corpse stick it up on a stage with a woodbine and a pint of bitter and chuckle at how fucking funny he looks cause he's coloured now..

  • @bobeagle007 Even that would be funnier than this tosser !

  • @MrAndysoul Yeah, it really sucks when you actually have to THINK about stuff doesn't it?

  • I love Stewart Lee when he takes the piss

  • NOOOOOOO!!!! Not the Queen of Hearts!

  • Did anyone notice that he said 9th of November?

A genuine mistake due to forgetting to convert the American date format (month/day/year) into the British date format (day/month/year) before quoting the 11th of September, or was it Stewart Lee mocking British people for quoting dates in the American way, or was he mocking the Americans for quoting the month before the day?

    What a mystery!

  • @OohTube It's part of his bit. You have to watch the entire stand up to understand.

  • @wakkarat

    Okay! I'll look into it.

  • @OohTube I don't think he was really mocking anyone, it was just a little joke...

  • @OohTube I would say a little of all but not a mistake and especially the last one.

  • i thought he was ok at the start but hes a tit now ok. imo

  • @tommy444able lots of ppl die everyday

  • @3tangle3 taste my beaver

  • I've just watched loads of videos of this guy on a friend's recommendation and I really don't find him that funny. His stories are painfully drawn out. This 'smug superiority complex' that some people have about his comedy is bullshit! What? Is this supposed to be the 'thinking man's' comedian? Give me Frankie Boyle any day!

  • @hexedkid - personally I think it's the obverse - Lee seems to bring out an inferiority complex in some people - I would suggest they look inside themselves to see why they've chosen to feel like victims... and then go seek out some kind of therapy

  • @futerko808 I'm not sure whether I agree with your point, however why use the word obverse? why not use inverse, converse or opposite? considering obverse means the same as counterpart, so the only reason I can think of that you used obverse is that you in fact wanted to feel superior by using an uncommon word, and you did this as you are a pretentious cunt.

  • @TateyTack as we're being pedantic, obverse is the other (face) side of the coin, and also can be defined as "Facing or turned toward the observer" - as is the case with your vulgarity which says a lot more about you than about me - oh, and btw, I DO feel superior to you - maybe try expanding your vocabulary - here's another word for you to search for "imbecile"

  • this guy is fucking genius . . .

  • Does Frankie Boyle do satire? This guy isn't popular because of an Emperor's new clothes effect, it's more that the clothes are satire, and some people are reared on empty, cheap humour like Boyle and can't recognise satire and it's importance in reviewing our society and actions. The humour is entertaining but it isn't always the end, sometimes the means. A lot of people have unnecessarily smug superiority complexes about stewart lee because they have recognised the satire.

  • ross oble enjoying the joke at 7:50

  • diana died on my 18th birthday ... got me the day off work so i was well pleased :)

  • diana was sacrificed by the illuminati. semiramis style. peace n good video

  • @ernieday lol silly you.

  • Funny how anytime anyone who posts on a Stewart Lee video something along the lines of "he thinks he's so clever", "he's so smug", "politically correct twaddle" , I look at their favourited videos and every time I see something akin to charlieissocoollike or ShaneDawson, Call of Duty no scope kill videos, "Charlie Sheen winning autotune dubstep remix" among other hilarious things.

  • @heyguy1231 he is shit though

  • Comment removed

  • @heyguy1231 Funny how insufferable lefty cunts such as yourself and the self-infatuated tossers who watch Lee vids, like Guardian readers, to feel more 'intelligent' than the average, knuckle dragging, right-wing philistines, seek immediate to discredit the people making the comments in ad hom instead of address the valid criticism. Says you with the Cadbury's Gorilla plays Nirvana. Like your comment has any relevance, just more evidence of being spiteful, hypocritical, arrogant dickheads.

  • @heyguy1231 I'm actually looking up the Charlie Sheen winning autotune dubstep remix, it sounds very intruiging!

  • @heyguy1231 Oh... that wasn't funny at all...

  • @heyguy1231

further more his attitude is part of his act and appeal

  • delivery is way too slow. 6 mins waiting for him to say i'd better go buy an inflatable E.T. so obvious.

  • @andyct5 Err... It guess you could argue that the comedy isn't about the incongruity of having an inflatable ET amongst the flowers at the gates of Kensington Palace but the "mind set" of the people who concern themselves with the lives of celebrities. The build up highlights the profundity ordinary people attach to the lives of celebrities and the gesture of the sending the ET highlights their irrational and immature mindset - "the over-emotional shrieking grief of twats".

  • @38dragoon38 So you could argue that it's mainly superiority theory then?

  • @thewhitegoldfish What is "superiority theory"? I've never heard of that one.

  • @38dragoon38 "Thomas Hobbes spelled out more clearly the idea that humor is an expression of superiority. In his 1651 Leviathan, he defined humor as the sudden glory arising from the sudden conception of some eminency in ourselves, by comparison with the infirmity of others."

just wrote my dissertation on stand-up comedy, was looking for a second opinion. superiority theory is normally used to explain why we supposedly laugh at clowns etc. i.e we laugh because we are better than them

  • @thewhitegoldfish interesting! And if we go back to the Roman coliseum, during the midday break blind people, or dwalves and women, were made to fight - all in the name of comedy. Also I seem to remember from somewhere that clowns (ill fitting clothes, unkempt, miserable) originated from from Germany and that they represented caricatures of eastern European refugees. So is laughing simply mockery? Or perhaps it is a form of relief? We empathise with the clowns position and are grateful...

  • @thewhitegoldfish we are not them - they are "other" and we have social standing. So is our "group identity" an element? This would also apply to "social discordance" comedy - Alan Partridge, David Brent, Smashy and Nicey etc. where the characters have a high opinion of themselves which is at odds with their abilities. We see - they don't. The same applies to X Factor which someone compared to the modern day equivalent of paying a shilling to go and laugh at the inmates of Bedlam prison.

  • @thewhitegoldfish. I think the superiority/ego theory stands up.That's why Blackadder and Fawlty Towers series are so revered,it's basically (with some farce thrown in) the superiority complex and the ego being punctured, and we love that even though we are using the same emotions while watching it.

  • @thewhitegoldfish Talking of characters whose egos are at odds with reality - I've just heard Jeffrey Archer today (18/05/11) at 10am on Radio 4's Woman's Hour. He's plugging a new book and "bigging himself up" - hilarious! You might need to download the BBC iplayer to listen to it: bbc. co. uk/programmes / b0112gv1

(close the gaps in the address). He's also got his own website.

  • @andyct5 I couldn't help but feel that this sketch highlights an incredible social phenomena - the alienation people feel in living in a modern consumer society. Perhaps all great comedy has a social message and the comedians who provide it will always be on the peripheries of popularity because the vast majority of people won't "get it" - if they were capable of understanding it then it wouldn't be a social phenomena in the first place.

  • @andyct5 that's the type of humor, it's self aware and manages to almost be a caricature of itself as well as being very dry, sadistic and pretty satirical. I think it's very subtle and clever, and the contrast between subtlety and outrageous and often obvious jokes and outbursts makes it funnier.

  • Comment removed

  • This is actually quite tragic

  • Not the Queen of Hearts!!!

  • This guy fuckin cracks me up

  • Princess Diana was a publicity courting idiot, the night she died I couldnt stop laughing, when all those mentally ill fucks were mourning outside the palace I thought we should have gassed them, they only drain on our society.

  • @fancythathat and a million times the human being that you'll ever be. There's a law about landmines now because of her, what have you done with your life to make a difference?

  • @hfdpayner I work as a nurse in a terminal ward in a very busy childrens hospital

  • @fancythathat worrying to think that someone with a fucked up mindset like yours is anywhere near children tbh let alone caring for them. No wonder our NHS is in such a shit state. It's fuckers like you that rob from old ladies in nursing homes isn't it?

  • @hfdpayner ''Princess Diana was a..... idiot, the night she died I couldnt stop laughing''. This kind of sums up the mindset of the modern BBC approved comedians and the fucking shameful, unpleasant wankers who idolize them. That left wing set that hound you like you're Nick Griffin for expressing disapproval over suicide bombers, lest you ''offend'' other Muslims but that are filled with a callous, offensive and vile hatred to most outside those special groups. I fear for those kids too.

  • @Underground906 Piss off and read the Daily Mail, oh wait, your inferiority complex dictates that you'd struggle with that.

People who like Lee don't feel smug about it, it just so happens that people who like Lee have seen many other comedians along the way (Lee is an aquired taste) and just so happen to be bored of the commonality of mainsteam comedy.

Your problem seems to be, that being right wing, you do not understand opposing views so you attack them with utter hate and not debate

  • @chalkus OK. you colossal fucking pillock, they don't feel smug. And the false dichotomy is yours and others Leftists alone. This 'anyone who criticizes Leftists is a DM reading, right-winger' instead of just an independent thinker. You won't find threads on his videos full to the brim of insufferable cunts doing exactly what you are doing? Making inferences about the level of intelligence because of criticism. I'm been snobby and smug before. Knew I was being a prick tho so stopped. Try it.
