some of the best sounding instruments are those that dont sound quite the way they are supposed to. theres a video of imogen heap doing a live version of let go by herself. at the very beginning she does this little riff on the piano for an intro to the song. after the riff, she pauses and says something about how shes finding some odd sounds on the piano that she may have "fallen into" (I believe thats what she said). not all instruments show their potential when perfectly set up
