I have to correct you, it is NOT a Led Zeppelin cover. Yes, Led Zeppelin also made this song, but the original is this:
""When the Levee Breaks" is a blues song written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The song is in reaction to the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927."
Actually at this tour it was just maynard and Billys Howerdells falsetto voice...No recorded over dubs...I am actualy quite happy that maynard took the octave down for this tour...it almost made me cry how much more emotional it was than the record, which I love anyhow...Pure Genius...
i love how they went after this one. if they went bigger it woulda seemed like a weak cover. they brought it down and made it hardcore. makes me wanna drink a beer and shoot some pool whilst bopping my head. peace.
This was an amazing tour and this was one of my favorites. I was so glad he sang this differently than he did on the studio album. He has such an emotionally powerful voice, this was a great example of it. "When The Levee Breaks" is actually an old blues song that Zeppelin covered. The writer is usually credited as Memphis Minnie.
hes not a whiner he just wants it to be about the art and the music not about him or what he does in his personal life if he hated his fans he wouldnt have come in and hung out before the show at the wine tasting
Ive always been a Tool and APC Fan I love Maynard But seriously, he's a whiner. Alway whining about having a private life, whining about fans wanting autographs, just everything. He chose the life he has, If you choose to be in the spotlight being in Tool and APC, you better be prepared to deal with everything that comes with being a celebrity. If all he's gonna do is cry about it, why do it?. Stop whining. If you don't like it, QUIT! Instead of telling your fans to piss off.

I love how these guys can make a song sound sooo different from the original. They also always turn it into themselves. Wonderful.
