  • youtube.com/watch?v=DcaOr1TBA1w for example,

  • @HomasterX im just saying wc has effective ground fighting, and can counter a takedown but the techniques used are not alloud in a ring or cage.

i'm not even taking about pressure points, but a simple chop to the neck can KO a guy or in a takedown attempt sinking elbow to the head, neck or spine, could be used but are agenst the rules, you can mix WC in with other styles to fill the gaps that rules create,WC allone is a style for self defence

  • @mantels85 yes, but that is all to do with timing, do you think a chop to the neck or sinking elbow is going to work when your base is taken away from you? everything here is about timing, none of the attacks using your arms will have any effect if your base is taken away, anyone can swing arms but once your base is taken away then your arms and elbows won't really do alot, I've already thought about these things, but wouldn't it just be more practical to just sprawl?

  • dude learn all of wc first, it does have ground fighting. it can counter takedown, tan or fak sau to the neck and arteries.or elbow to the top of the head or spine,to name a few

but you cant do this in a competition or you could kill the guy,not saying wc or mma is better, they are both good in what they are created for, and wc is made for short fights on the street; when a guy takes a swing at you, you can take him out quick. never try to use WC in a ring fight, ah well the discussion continues

  • @mantels85 that's funny, I did learn all of wing chun, sil nim tau, chum kiu, bil jee, 116 wooden dummy, and I don't recall any of those taught to me and me teaching to others last 5 years as a striking style in the MMA system that it protects "effectively" against take downs, stop kidding yourself and open your eyes, never try WC in a ring fight? why not? because people shit at it gets owned that posts it on the internet? WC is a valid striking style, it always has been

  • @mantels85 in a MMA environment if you have sufficient wrestling skills + black belt in no-gi Jiu Jitsu, there's no reason why a person using wing chun as striking cannot go toe to toe with someone else

  • @mantels85 well that goes for any striking style when you talk about pressure point strikes, but how accuratly can you say that you have a high % of hitting them in order to stop a takedown? if we're putting in practicality in mind, wouldn't the simple sprawl, and underhooks do a better job and more efficient?

  • @mantels85 it's good we're keeping it all PC, I'd like both MMA and wing chun people to participate, I do MMA but wing chun is one of my striking styles, and I do MMA as a system not a sport, I can teach it for sport on request.
