  • 3:15-3:23 sounded kinda like steve vai

  • Excellent, and well n kindly explained. Thanku, nice one

  • Dude that whole Rage Against the Machine thing and the Kurt Kobain thing I was doing that and I just thought I was messing with my guitar I had no idea I had the mind of of great guitarist. Thanks!

  • the intro to Testify by Rage Against The Machine is a slide harmonic

  • nice guitar and reverb man! what effects? and do you have your mid turned up at all?

  • @GuitarPadawan92 Look at some of the newer videos, I believe I show you what I am using in at least one of them...I believe the "tapping" one. It is a BOSS ME70, and I use mostly blues OD now with bass at 5, mid5 and treble6-7...gain at 3-4 along with sustain. For some metal OD turn your mid down to like 2-3, and bass and treble up to 6-7, and gain to 7.

  • this guy has arms like popeye

  • Wow, 50,000 views! That is a ton for just no name guy like me, but I assure you I appreciate all your views! And this video is SOOOO OLD HAHA!!! But hey, I have moved on to cooking videos, please check them out, and hooray left-brainers, without us, right brainers would look nuts! Chow!

  • @jdogbig1 oh come on man, im sure your an awesome cook but please still do guitar stuff. you rock.

  • @jdogbig1 thanks.

  • @Mrfunkymonkey109 ROTFLMFAO!!! The best comment ever! Thanks for watching!

  • i like your guitar!

  • *Important to any new players watching this!* - The guy in this video uses a LOT of gain/overdrive/distortion so the guitar is very senisitive and if you play clean (no distortion etc) it will be a lot more difficult to achieve the sounds he does.

Also, some of the parts he plays, he uses delay which repeates what's been played a short time after this means it sounds like a lot more notes are being played than there actually are.

This is not a dig at the dude in the video. Just educating.

  • Hahaha Jdog, used to call my dad that all the time, then he punched me :D

  • LOL you look a little like michael j fox xD

  • is that a ibanez ;DDD

  • Thats a Satch model isn't it? if not its a prestige. Most of the basic IBZ's have the sharpened horns.

  • nice hair...

  • Really nice guitar!

  • Thanks helped alot. And also, you have freaken huge ass arms

  • i dont like yor sofa

  • @corakanproductions I don't think you'll be sitting on it anytime soon, so I don't really care

  • @jdogbig1 nice

  • @jdogbig1 lol thats funny. i'v been playing for about 3 months with a acoustic and im going to be buying a squier telecaster soon. But i have problems. like if i want to try to make a solo i have trouble picking certaint strings fast and switching to the strings. can you give me tips on how to make it easier?

  • @corakanproductions its not about the sofa bitch its about the badass guitar riffs! get a life!

  • @Mrfunkymonkey109 i know i liked the tricks alot just randomly mentioned that i did not really like the sofa, dont get all up in you arse

  • @corakanproductions your comment actually made me laugh.

  • @Mrfunkymonkey109 in a good way?

  • @corakanproductions yes, in fact. i like the way you answered because you didnt explode in anger like many others would do. i actually faound your answer quite intelligent, although i dont think the sofa comment was very nice or intelligent, just saying.

  • @Mrfunkymonkey109 thnx, i just dont really like tiger prints

  • @corakanproductions It's just a throw blanket, my dad got it in West Germany when he was in the Army, so even though I wouldn't normally buy that, it has sentimental value. And your welcome for the explanation of why it is there.

  • @jdogbig1 ow wait jeah now i see the sofa is pretty nice dont like the tiger print but ofcourse i would keep something of sentimental value to, i dont know if your grand father fought and it isnt my buisness but technically your country saved our country from the germans so if he did, and even if he didnt fight i rspect him, thanx for the explanation and sorry for the misunderstanding i didnt mean to insult you

  • @jdogbig1 Ah no offense taken, thanks for watching my videos though :)

  • What guitar is that

  • Nice...

  • you look like elvis

  • haha ur a man with a kids face..not an insult but it is funny...GROW A BEARD!!!!

  • Nice video! hopefully one day I'll be able to do what you showed me here today, just gotta keep practicing. Thanks for posting.

  • you keep trying to show off your biceps

  • basically everything you hear after the first 2 seconds of entering your local guitar center... lol

  • that statement is funny because it's true!

  • that and Funk 49

  • great video man, helped me a lot...im thinking of getting active pickups...the icing on the cake for the screaming LOL

  • dude you look great, but the most important thing.. you play awesome ^^

  • nice guitar nd u r an awesome player

  • Dude u look like the son of Elvis and Lou Ferrigno...!! KEWL

  • sounds gay but I think I can find a compliment in there somewhere ;^)

  • tapping is fucking easy, try sweeping for a challenge, or even better, learn some scales

  • Great guitar and btw i am working a lot for this muscles

  • awesome guitar

  • thanks!

  • i bet it cost alot. but looks cool. i like the colors.

  • It was about $450, and I did a lot of things to it before I eventually settled on pasting it with Snoopy/Peanuts stickers

  • snoopy? awesome!!!!!

  • this guy is a mint teacher... :) awsome!

  • These are always fun when you get bored;

I like to play with the harmonics and tapping, Gets the dogs to chime in!

  • my favorite guitar trick is guitar taping

  • what about pinch harmonics?

  • good question, I can prob cover that in my next vid

  • do you need an effect to be able to do the tapping?

  • no actually you don't. I plan on doing another video that shows two hand tapping with a clean sound. Even with overdrive, a good string dampener is needed to quiet them behind where the notes are actually played. I like to use a bandana tied off right around the neck at the 1st fret. some people have even pulled a sock over the headstock to do the same thing.

  • please refer to 2:33 in my "Guitar improv and equip test" video...at least until I make a video specifically for this!

  • Effect? no.

    You need your hands :)

  • i tried the kurt cobain trick but it didn't work for my guitar. Is it because I have a les paul or is it something else? anyway good video.

  • well it shouldn't matter, I am actually performing that trick on a double locking tremelo system, and even with the locking nut, you can still do it...try using a bit more overdrive and see where that takes you

  • thnx god u are NOT just another looser who uploaded a guitar video :-D

good tips dude... u know... it would be nice if u make some tutorials about this techniques, i have problems mastering one or two. hope u comment me, u look like a nice dude. see you.

  • well which ones in particular are you looking for? The more I watch this video the more I can see where I could have explained more of the actual technique, and for a 9 min. video, I still left out a lot. TTYL !

  • well i have problems with the harmonics, i know they are easy to play in an exercise but during a fast track (metal style), i find it difficult. Also if you include some sweep picking exercises or tips it would be great!

I know i'm asking for too much but... also if you could make a video that gives us tips about live performance, like cool ways to stand up on a stage or how to do rockstar poses I would be very thanked.

    Happy new year!

  • we need a really good guitar like urs to do it huh

  • well by definition of good should actually be narrowed down to dependability and playability. Even a low-end Ibanez won't disappoint. You need the guitar to hold it's tune and have a decent action with a good quality set of medium to light strings. This is all based upon if you want to play rock. I you prefer jazz guitar, then heavier strings will suit you better. Any Fender or Ibanez between 200-300 bill will get you started and you will probably keep it for life, even after you buy high end.

  • cute guitar haha i like it

  • first guitar i got i thought the whammy wasent supposed to drop down and move so i tigthened it so much it snapped hahaha

  • live and learn I suppose ;)

  • u too?!?!

  • hey thats the sound that they use on the song white wedding.

  • yep, harmonic slide

  • i have a strat but the whammy bar broke when i was taking it out

  • how did you manage to do that?!?

    good job dude!!!

  • The best video of guitar tricks,

    god job :D

  • good lessons

  • neat guitar man how musch it cost?

  • well it is an "S series" Ibanez, and I think I paid about 4-5 hundred $ for it. Then I covered it in Snoopy and Peanuts Gang stickers and cleared it over with Krylon. It is one of the best tremelos I have ever played.

  • k thnx for replying

  • Lol u sorta remind me of johny bravo

    Great lesson btw 5*

  • hammer ons, pull offs, so I got tongue tied, sue me ;)

  • great vid :D

  • nice vid that was cool

  • thanks for watching!

  • Dude, can you please tell me what amp settings you are using there?

  • well as for how the amp is set, Marshall 50watt valvestate, OD gain is one, vol. is usually at 4 inside my apt, but the bass is usually 7-8, mid is 3-4, and T is also 7-8. On my Boss ME70 I have blues OD on with 1/2 to 3/4 gain and B at 7 and T at 5-6. Add some delay and you are set

  • Thanks man

  • huge biceps. lol.

  • haha your a great guitar player

  • great tricks haha try the pacman noise

  • yeah that's a good one too! I like the "machine gun" sound in Billy Idols "White Wedding" as well

  • you look like ahh i forgot his name :D

  • Do you like KoRn??

  • yeah I have some of their music, they are pretty good. it's a difference in taste and genre when it comes to rating music and bands. I listen to a lot of variety and pull things that I like and incorporate it into my style.

  • I think your the buffest guitar player I've ever seen.

  • lol... thats true.

  • have you seen petrucci? he's literally a bear!

  • Ooooooooooooh.. damn.!

    I can really use that...

And by the way, i bet a punch of your fist in my face can bring my ass straight to hell.

I'll go to the gym, damn!

  • well that is a bit odd, I would not chose to do such a thing . Music is harmony and harmony is life...so why punch someone?!?

  • I was just saying... Have you heard "The grindhouse blues"? I really like that song, I really like it, but I'm not good enough to play it by ear.

  • wow, he is great, an awesome acoustic guy, thanks for the tip!

  • You must be a magician.

I have an electric guitar in the garage.

I'll try to imitate you tonight.

  • Haha, no I am no magician, I am just a humble guitarist that paid plenty of attention to my favorite guitarists and figured out one way or another how they did things and created unique sounds. But thanks for the compliment!!

  • nice guitar!cannav it?:s

  • thanks bro..

  • very nice.. lot of informative tips.. tnx brother!

  • 2:15 is used on Billy Idol - White wedding :)

  • really nice

  • your volume tutorial is up now

  • that is a sweet guitar

  • why did i think of melody make when i saw that

  • not sure why you did, but this is my original video and not a copy of any one elses, in case that is what you are implying

  • What guitar is that?

  • Ibanez S series

  • Well I found out that all the stuff i found out were already discovered before, but still you didn't went too far with it, and I still have extra cool stuff... I'm surprise you didn't even mentioned FEEDBACK, that's a big importance about the guitar...

  • well mate I am limited to 10 mins of video and I don't want to bore or go over the limit of video length...but you are right, and Hendrix, Satriani, and Vai and wonderful examples of fedback. Thanks for watching, cheers!

  • actually the maximum you can go is 10:59 and sometimes (I don't know why) they accept 11:00...

  • Me thinks this guy gets his teaching abilities from his old man

  • oo.o

  • ohai.

  • Yo.

  • cool dude

  • omg an ibanez

  • That guitar looks like the JS Ibanez you have.

  • it's an S series Ibanez that I covered with Peanuts Gang stickers and cleared it. My Satriani Ibanez is the JS100 model.
