Dude that whole Rage Against the Machine thing and the Kurt Kobain thing I was doing that and I just thought I was messing with my guitar I had no idea I had the mind of of great guitarist. Thanks!
@GuitarPadawan92 Look at some of the newer videos, I believe I show you what I am using in at least one of them...I believe the "tapping" one. It is a BOSS ME70, and I use mostly blues OD now with bass at 5, mid5 and treble6-7...gain at 3-4 along with sustain. For some metal OD turn your mid down to like 2-3, and bass and treble up to 6-7, and gain to 7.
Wow, 50,000 views! That is a ton for just no name guy like me, but I assure you I appreciate all your views! And this video is SOOOO OLD HAHA!!! But hey, I have moved on to cooking videos, please check them out, and hooray left-brainers, without us, right brainers would look nuts! Chow!
*Important to any new players watching this!* - The guy in this video uses a LOT of gain/overdrive/distortion so the guitar is very senisitive and if you play clean (no distortion etc) it will be a lot more difficult to achieve the sounds he does.
Also, some of the parts he plays, he uses delay which repeates what's been played a short time after this means it sounds like a lot more notes are being played than there actually are.
This is not a dig at the dude in the video. Just educating.
@jdogbig1 lol thats funny. i'v been playing for about 3 months with a acoustic and im going to be buying a squier telecaster soon. But i have problems. like if i want to try to make a solo i have trouble picking certaint strings fast and switching to the strings. can you give me tips on how to make it easier?
@corakanproductions yes, in fact. i like the way you answered because you didnt explode in anger like many others would do. i actually faound your answer quite intelligent, although i dont think the sofa comment was very nice or intelligent, just saying.
@corakanproductions It's just a throw blanket, my dad got it in West Germany when he was in the Army, so even though I wouldn't normally buy that, it has sentimental value. And your welcome for the explanation of why it is there.
@jdogbig1 ow wait jeah now i see the sofa is pretty nice dont like the tiger print but ofcourse i would keep something of sentimental value to, i dont know if your grand father fought and it isnt my buisness but technically your country saved our country from the germans so if he did, and even if he didnt fight i rspect him, thanx for the explanation and sorry for the misunderstanding i didnt mean to insult you
no actually you don't. I plan on doing another video that shows two hand tapping with a clean sound. Even with overdrive, a good string dampener is needed to quiet them behind where the notes are actually played. I like to use a bandana tied off right around the neck at the 1st fret. some people have even pulled a sock over the headstock to do the same thing.
well it shouldn't matter, I am actually performing that trick on a double locking tremelo system, and even with the locking nut, you can still do it...try using a bit more overdrive and see where that takes you
thnx god u are NOT just another looser who uploaded a guitar video :-D
good tips dude... u know... it would be nice if u make some tutorials about this techniques, i have problems mastering one or two. hope u comment me, u look like a nice dude. see you.
well which ones in particular are you looking for? The more I watch this video the more I can see where I could have explained more of the actual technique, and for a 9 min. video, I still left out a lot. TTYL !
well i have problems with the harmonics, i know they are easy to play in an exercise but during a fast track (metal style), i find it difficult. Also if you include some sweep picking exercises or tips it would be great!
I know i'm asking for too much but... also if you could make a video that gives us tips about live performance, like cool ways to stand up on a stage or how to do rockstar poses I would be very thanked.
well by definition of good should actually be narrowed down to dependability and playability. Even a low-end Ibanez won't disappoint. You need the guitar to hold it's tune and have a decent action with a good quality set of medium to light strings. This is all based upon if you want to play rock. I you prefer jazz guitar, then heavier strings will suit you better. Any Fender or Ibanez between 200-300 bill will get you started and you will probably keep it for life, even after you buy high end.
I would like to thank everyone who has watched and commented on this video. I know it is not the best video, but your support has been great, thank a bunch!
well it is an "S series" Ibanez, and I think I paid about 4-5 hundred $ for it. Then I covered it in Snoopy and Peanuts Gang stickers and cleared it over with Krylon. It is one of the best tremelos I have ever played.
well as for how the amp is set, Marshall 50watt valvestate, OD gain is one, vol. is usually at 4 inside my apt, but the bass is usually 7-8, mid is 3-4, and T is also 7-8. On my Boss ME70 I have blues OD on with 1/2 to 3/4 gain and B at 7 and T at 5-6. Add some delay and you are set
yeah I have some of their music, they are pretty good. it's a difference in taste and genre when it comes to rating music and bands. I listen to a lot of variety and pull things that I like and incorporate it into my style.
