An older buddy had one of these when I was a kid - sitting in the front, looking out over that hood was a magical experience - you felt like a king. Great car.
Always wondered how easy it was to live with those door handles. I remember telling my next door neighbor (whos father had a '69) that they looked weird; he said he thought they were "groovy". That was the last time I heard that word used seriously. They're probably better than those "fingertip" door pulls that were standard in the '80s and '90s.
GP'S were 1 of my favs. Olds Cutlass line-442's, SX, "S". Only problem all these years and I couldn't tell you which car is my favorite. If asked about the Monte Carlo, Chevelles, Chargers, etc. they were all nice cars I don't care if they were faster I knew what I had was plenty fast enough. So after owning the GP and the 71 Cutlass "S" I couldn't really say except possibly I like them both equally. The one you are showing here would make it difficult for me to stand up without embarrasment
@365degrees I just watched this video evidently for the 2nd time cause I commented on it 2 months ago but my last sentence went over my head for a second--lol--Beautiful car, paint, etc.

Sweet! I owned this model from 1976 to 1979. I lived in CT then. I bought it damaged, the front-end had been damaged in an accient. I paid $600 for it and a friend & I bought a new nose and put it back together, repainted it. I gave my friend my 1967 Mustang 2+2 for all his work in putting this car back together for me. It cost me $150 to repaint it. The origninal motor was destroyed from snow being jamed everywere, through the air cleaner, carb and even the block from the Blizzard of 78
@satchboogyfan Thank you just delivered to a lady that her Husband bought it for her "Just Because" It was like her FIRST CAR.. She is Extremley happy and i will never find a Better GP i know I sold it $4,000 to $6,000 to cheap but oh well make sure and look at my other videos
