I think it depends on the person. I personally know some trans-guys and only 1 of them has changed to being sexually attracted to males and the other 2 are still attracted to females.

I think that it is an attraction to males or females. I am gender queer and I am attracted only to females. If I ever would become male I would still only be attracted to females and I would become straight.

sexual orientation changes for few people but it is rare and certain chemicals have been known to cause it and one of those things is hormones you usually are not exposed to , when trans people get hormones some will change orientation from one to another example. straight changes to bi, or gay changes to asexual.

watched a few of your vids, came across this 1 an most trans guys i know who became attrackted to men after startin T, its hard to explane its more to do with media influences like looking at a mag seeing a buff man an finding them attractive when its really you wantin to look like them, if that makes any sence lol

Firstly I identify as gay....... purely because I hate having to say 'I'm A lesbian', 'I'm gay' is infinately easier to roll off the tongue!

Anyway.... My gut reaction is that my being gay is an attraction to females, no if's or but's.

I guess it's just because i'm not attracted to males at all, I can't imagine being attracted to them if I were male, hmmmm I can't imagine being male either!

I think some people have same sex attraction and some people have male or female attraction. thats why when some straight identified trans people transition they are attracted to the same sex because the have a new sex that fits their gender. then again a lot of trans people even after they transition they're still attracted to the sex they were attracted to before they transitioned.

so I think both are equally valid

I'm bi and FTM and I've noticed as I've gotten more comfortable with myself, that I've felt more open to the idea of being with another guy. Before, I leaned more towards women, but now I'm pretty much in the middle. I've been in relationships with guys before, but because of the "role" I was put into as a female, neither of them worked out.

I'm FTM and I've always been attracted to both males and females. Before I started to transition though I would deny/ignore the male attraction because in a relationship with a male (pre-transition) I would automatically be put into a female role. It wasn't that my attraction towards men increased, just my ability to feel respected as male. I think this is what a lot of trans people go through, not actually a shift in attraction.

Well I hear that transexuality is a whole different thing than being gay. So a straight person could be a transexual... Would that make a straight person still straight? I had that same question as you did when I heard about that... I kinda gave up on it lol. Maybe it just depends on the person.

depends. i think gays/lesbians are totally same sex attraction. then genderqueer, trans,etc are into males or females cause the dont identify as gay or lesbian.cause they dont identify with sex they are born into, so its not exactly same gender if you are trans or anything related to that. if you know what i mean,uh kinda hard to explain but hey what would i know im a bisexual so this doesnt apply to me.

well they say that people (any people, lgbtq or s) are attracted to others who are similar to themselves (same interests and also similar looks) which is why some couples (straight ones too) look alike. but i'd say i'm attracted to females, not "same-sex" because even though i am female i'm not that feminine and dont see myself as a "female" person.. (but then again, i'm a gay female who is also genderqueer so maybe that has an effect to?). anyway, good question, i love your vids and you :)

i think it depends on the person. some are attracted to the sex of an individual and others are more attracted to the gender.

Both could be true, but some people may be attracted to the same sex, whereas others may only be attracted to females (or males). I disagree with Mentalspud49: If being gay isn't a choice, then it must have something to do with our DNA, which is in fact an incredibly complicated thing. So I believe that some people are attracted to the same sex, whilst others are only attracted to females (or males).

for gay men and women it's attraction to the same sex, however it's their sexuality which determines this, not their gender/sex if you get me? So for a trans guy, his sexuality, in it's fluidity must have changed because this does not occur in all trans guys.

I don't think it's a same-sex attraction... I find it hard to believe that if a lesbian woman transitioned to male, then they would magically become attracted to men. It just can't work like that, also many transpeople on Youtube have stayed the same sexuality throughout their transition (so from a lesbian woman to a straight male) so... I don't think it is. Interesting (and confusing) question but yeah, people are just attracted to whoever, there's nothing behind it really.

Do you mean; is being a homosexual about being attracted to those that you identify with on a gender level and that association? And therefore if you transitioned and before hand were a lesbian girl, you're sexuality would change to a homosexual male?

Or is it that your gender and those that you are attracted to are two seperate things that don't influence one another?

maybe it just depends on the person? there is both...trans people who became attracted to their same sex after the transition, and trans people whose attraction didn't change... so perhaps it depends on the person in particular and how that person perceives him/herself.
