Im not sure the logic of your argument is straight. Sure the production of plastic and other synthetic material takes energy and contributes to pollution. But thats the case with nearly all materials. The point of this particular product is to not directly torture and slaughter animals for clothing, not to be without carbon footprint. And because of this I doubt that purchasing real leather rather than faux leather is at all better, particularly for the animals.
