Wow me and you must think alike because I called Att&t and Directv this morning and started slashing all types of shit off my bill. I looked at my At&t bill and I was paying a hundred dollars a month just for internet and phone. Found out I was paying $7 and $10 for equipment and wiring protection respectively. I was paying for unlimited long distance and the total package. I use my cell phone. The only reason I'm keeping the house phone is because my old business contacts have that number.

And the funny thing is I live in the country and we arent eligible for Comcast so we are forced to get either Direct Tv or Dish Network. We use to die for Comcast, but now my perspective has change lol.

Yeah...I hate that too. I do watch cable TV, but I watch the same 4 channels all the time in addition to my local stations. I wish I could just pay for my 4 channels forget the rest. I hate paying for stuff for I don't even use! It's like why not just pay $1 (or whatever) for my stations instead of $80 for stuff I don't even watch. And forget paying for local stations. That's crazy. Basic TV should be free. Period.

LOL I use to work for a cablevision(Cable for NY/NJ/CT) and they are a rip off. When I left I cut off my cable because I refuse to pay them 100+ for service. Its funny how when you tell these companies youre leaving to go to a competitor(Direct TV, Fios, Dish and etc) they jump up with the quickness to see what they can do for you. You should try that and speak to someone in the retention dept. Dont hang up until you get a deal.

@youngameryca1 I need to try this because I too have cablebvision too. Funny my area have direct tv, Fios, etc and I should be switching. Secondly, with cablevision their reboots itself like almost everyday so that means the internet and phone are interrupted too. Maybe I need to switch after I do some research on direct tv and Fios.

Wow me and you must think alike because I called Att&t and Directv this morning and started slashing all types of shit off my bill. I looked at my At&t bill and I was paying a hundred dollars a month just for internet and phone. Found out I was paying $7 and $10 for equipment and wiring protection respectively. I was paying for unlimited long distance and the total package. I use my cell phone. The only reason I'm keeping the house phone is because my old business contacts have that number.

ComTRASH has a lot of shit with them. I can't stand them but they are our only cable choice in this area. We check our bill closely each month bc there is usually some bogus bull we have to call to get removed.

@crit1227 Questions on Fios can you get internet, tv and phone on one plan and how much does it cost? I live in New York City and funny thing is that I'm just finding out about Fios. Currently, I have cablevision and is thinking about switching. Secondly, have you gotten any internet interruptions when you switched over to Fios? Thanks in advance.

@Greatersend No problem sis. I reside in NY as well Alright I have everything through Verizon. Just this month I ordered the movie channels I have them for free for 3 months (started last night) :-). My original plan I didn't have the movie channels. The package I started out with was the prime HD 64.99. Now I have triple play which includes everything 84.99 month. for me its perfect only issue I have lost 3 channels I really like. That's no biggy
