  • is there a old video showing mathew playing guitar i seem to remmember a show were he did that

  • In an earlier Post someone mentioned Nell's high kick. She actually did it twice at 1:30 and 1:37. Man she was a fabulous all around entertainer!!

  • @ 2:16 look real closely at the window u will see joey run past.

  • Yeah, you go Nell Carter!

    Shake it, baby.

  • nell is always rockin heels and her dress is gorgeous. i love this show. (:

  • I love the way Nell looked on the third season after she lost weight. Good looking big girl.

  • Where's Al Bundy?

  • Man the 80's. Flashdance and donkey Kong. Nell was rockin that blue dress. Whatever happened to Joey Lawrence?

  • he was a cute little boy back then, now he has that "Uncle Fester" thing going on.

  • I had a big crush on Julie (GOD only knows WHY! What a dork! But she had the funniest lines after Samantha) And my favorite character was Simpson and I always wanted to be him! LOL! I think I was big into DORKS when I was a kid! Everyone else liked Katie!

  • @Mysterycat74

I do think that Julie was a dork at all! I grew up having a huge crush on her! I especially liked the way that she looked in designer boot! Oh baby!

  • this is a 2part episode isnt it

  • awwwwwwwwwwwww Joe is sooo friggin adorable!!!

  • I just LOVE this theme song!!! (got no uploads to do for awhile so I'm gonna watch lots of 80s comedy shows ROFL! hahahaha)

  • I love Gimme a break Nell Carter was soooo funny!

  • Go on Nell, work it! Did anybody notice that HIGH kick in there while she's dancing? She may have been a bigger gal but she sure as hell was flexible! I personally thought Nell looked very right for her body type at this point. She just was never designed to be a size 8. She worked that blue dress. My FAVORITE scene EVER out of the entire series!

  • @Dexie78

I agree that Nell did look very nice in that blue dress!

  • @Smartboy8877 Girlfriend was workin' her slimmed down self overtime for sure! I've just always believed that everyone has an ideal size for their body/bone structure and I don't think Nell would have looked good or right if she had gotten down to 120 lbs. Consider Oprah: she looks great at about 165-175 lbs. At 135, IMO, she don't look too good. Delta Burke is one of the few women I can think of who can look good both very thin or heavy.

  • @Dexie78

That is some very interesting food for thought!

  • @Dexie78 Roseanne Barr looked kinda doable when she slimmed a few pounds, too. I just didn't want her to talk.

  • @averypack13 Roseanne is not bad looking-but yeah, her voice-UGHH.Nell Carter's voice on the other hand had that smooth Southern sound, very Cool to listen too

  • brieannas21 do you have the episode brotherly love with joey lawerance

  • @jimbob5599 No, Sorry.

  • @Brieannas21 Do you have the "Herbie" episode? I've been wanting to see that one for years.

  • @jimbob5599 someone uploaded the episode with nell on brotherly love

  • @jimbob5599 try finash6 or dpstrish they have uploads of most brotherly love episodes though on some the sound is a little off

  • "i think i'm in love"

ME TOO!! WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU JOEY LAWRENCE!!

  • LMAO gettem nell!!!

  • Skinny ass bitch in tights lmao9

  • Has anyone noticed that this is the exact same set as "All in the family" and " The Cosby Show?"

  • I use to love this show......

  • aww. joey before blossom and brotherly love :)

  • @meiranisa2 Type in Johnny Carson Show #4

  • I was in love with this woman....I miss her so much...GREAT COMEDY 4 me :-)!!

  • what an adorable little con artist...he's sooooo hot later on

  • She's the female Re Run!

  • I wish that they post that Sam's little girl episod.

  • Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooah

  • that's a great outfit she had on, even for the 80's. of course, she had the body to make it work!

  • the songs good.. when she dances :D at the start: :P

  • @hottis13

It's from the movie "Flashdance"... I totally remember this episode. Songs from both "Footloose" and "Flashdance" popped up EVERYWHERE around this time!

  • cant believe thats joey and that even before blossom!!!!

  • I would LOVED to see Katie's pants have a "trap door"!

  • Aw, Joey Lawrence~ You look NOTHING like you do now.

  • First we start off with a black housekeeper taking care of a white widowed father and his three girls encompassing every stereotype:pretty sexpot, brainy nerd, and a tomboy. Now we move to ANOTHER typical sitcom cleeshay where the sitcom family adopts an orphan like child soooooooooooo typical...

  • you can see that in the opening credits for seasons 3 and 4 I believe.

  • Nell was looking yummy in this episode! LOL Take her to the bedroom with me! Yeah buddy!

  • LMBO!!

  • Do you remember the episode "The Mayor" from the third season also, Nell hated when the Mayor hit on her, I believe she would have hated it now, I remember a line she said to him when he was going to touch her, "You make a move and I do more than bat my eyes". @Boogers4dinner

  • yeah she's at her best here, but i don't know if i would go that far...then again if she had on a thong that might motivate me.

  • I wanna know when "Maniac" became "jazz"?

  • Jazz was the name of the dance style, not the music type.

  • kill joy kiddjng..heee

  • oh my gosh i forgot how much i use to love this show!

  • Does anyone else think Joey looks just like his brother Andy when he was that age?

  • Yeah, if you compare Andy while he was on Brotherly love with Joey on this show, they look exactly like each other.

  • @KstnAnQt except andy had much bigger eyes

  • @KstnAnQt Yes he was so cute :-)

  • All of those Lawrence boys looked JUST alike! Like twins of different ages.

  • @KstnAnQt he also has a brother named matthew lawrence right

  • @KstnAnQt yeah he does look like his bro

  • I agree!!

  • Nell Carter was the Monique of the 80s

  • Oh, HELL yeah...

  • can you please put on the second part of this episode i want to see what happens when nell takes joey home with her.

  • Nell Carter was better than Monique and beside Nell came first, and her career was more challenging than Monique. In the sense things were not handed to her.@keonta81

  • Does anyone have the episode Joey meets Matthew or can tell me where I can find it or pictures of it?

  • Nell looked so much better and was actually glamorous after she lost 84 lbs. I don't know why she didn't just stay there, she was not thin, but really looked much better. May she rest in peace

  • This show was the first time I ever saw about 2-3 minutes without the intro then the intro comes on lol. Gimme A Break.... show wouldn't be nothing without Mrs. Nell Carter

  • That's called the teaser, before the intro comes on, I learning to write scripts for my own sitcom and learned the different parts.@tonshaad1230

  • Dolph Sweet passed away in 1985. Remember NBC did a tribute to him on one of the episodes. I think he succumbed to cancer.

  • 6:45

  • What an adorable little munchkin! By his face, I could just tell he'd grow up to be super hot. ^^

  • I agree with you :)

  • Hey...is that Samantha or Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls????

  • and sadly this was Dolph Sweet's last season.

  • Nope, it wasn't. This was part of the 1983 season. Dolph went into the 1984 season & then died afterwards.

  • how'd you figure that?

  • aw come on, that's just mean...

  • She was a great lady, truly missed. Love You Nell/RIP...

  • wow.. a whole lotta woman.

  • OMG, SO 80s! I LOVE ITTT!

  • Especially, Katie's moves from 1:10-1:18!! So DELICIOUSLY '80s.... :-D

  • I love this video too but what happened to the one with nell, lynne thigpen and telma hopkins singing the girl group songs? Now that was my fave!!

  • This was my favorite season of Gimie A Break! Nell had a just lost a bunch of weight and was really taking control of her life. It looked as is she was in a new place in her life. Even more beautiful and confident than she ever was. The arrival of Joey signaled changes ahead as the girls were practically all grown up and didn't need Nell as much.

  • I've seen parts 1, 2, and 3 of this episode on here...but are there any videos of the next episode which is actually the continuation of the Joey story?

  • when are they going to put the other seasons on dvd?

  • Katie looked so HOT in that dance costume... Plus, I loved her moves! SO incredibly '80s... :)

  • ...did I mention she herself was hot? :)

  • haha, BIG TIME 80's! I loved it!

  • Hell yeah! B)

  • Thank you sooo much for uploading this sit-com..It was my fav.. Please add more episodes if u have..

  • Now you know why that scene where Nell danced & gone backwards at the sight of the chief, became the last clip in the intro before Dolph's passing.

  • No offense, but Samantha looks like a boy...

  • thats what i thought too but thats 80s fashion sense

  • This episode is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • I totally agree, this is great. I wanted to see this. Especially the one where Joey meets Matt. Thanks Brieannas21.

  • Could you please tell me the name of the episode where Joey meets Matt?

  • Below Sea Level and Joey Meets Matthew.

  • GREAT EPISODE KEEP EM COMING

  • Thanks so much for this :D
