  • One hundred indonesian punks rule!

  • imagine that. another punk rock song on youtube with people arguing about what is and isnt punk. some people says that mohawks make u punk, others say that punk isnt fashion it's a state of mind. every single video it's just a bunch of douchebags, who don't even know each other i might add, furiously typing away at whos right and whos wrong. your arguments are pointless and repetitive and no one wins. hey i got an idea! how about instead of internet arguing we actually LISTEN TO THE FUCKING SONG

  • @blackserenade24 I WILL NOT LISTEN TO THIS SONG AND THAT IS PUNK! NOT LISTENING TO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUDDHA WAS PUNK!!!!!!!!!

  • @andywarstarforever then why did you click on the link?

  • decaysvegan has a point shut up and listen to good music.

  • generation x werent really punk - they were also powerpop and glam as well as well as classic youth driven rock n roll with punk energy- regardless they wrote some great catchy energetic tunes and thats all that matters- too bad billy idol became a twat in the 80s

  • This song had to be invented by the very best billy fuckin idol.Screw offsprings cover this is better

  • love punk music hate punks

  • The band Mr Floppy had a song called "!00,000 Morrisseys".

What would happen if 100 punks met 100,000 Morrissey fans?!?

  • anybody know where i can download all there albums? ares didnt work

  • @SidEskorbuto i recommend buying it

  • hey you guys, arguing what is and isn't punk, is very unpunk

  • every comment on a video that has anything that could be related to punk rock in it, will contain massive amounts of people arguing over what punk is and isn't. who really cares, it's fucking music, most people that take it upon themselves to join a "punk scene" are usually just massive faggots desperate for attention that are even more hiveminded than your typical high school football team. secondly, NOBODY TALKS TO BILLY IDOL THAT WAY! (wedding singer reference)

  • Tony James the most underated man in punk rock!

  • talking about punk is so not punk

  • @jmckernin well you kinda did just by saying that

  • @Sallygirl2066 to be fair punk didnt start in the 70's it started in the mid to late 60's. As a musical genre Punk fits in any decade. As for your comment @Stryker37573 the term New Wave was used by band that werent exactly punk but hung out in the same scene eventually the term went on to replace the term punk. It made it more marketable to label a band New Wave than Punk. So because a suit or journalist decided to call bands New Wave does that make the musicians intent any less?

  • didnt offspring cover this i have to say gen x is a classic 70s punk band and the offspring cant ever be better than them

  • my love for this song never diminishes

  • Is this the meaning of the Rapture? Did 100 punks take over the US Senate?

  • honestly i'm not a fan of Generation X

  • @Stryker37573 well why are you watching lol

  • @sallygirl2066 i wanted to see who sung this originally, but its official the cover is better than the original, i hate Generation X...

  • @Stryker37573 what you hate them wow you must be deaf

  • @Stryker37573 Yeah, but you love "Mortal Kombat 9 (2011)"

What are people like you even doing on videos like these ???????????§

  • @sclapione this is not even fucking punk rock, this is New Wave, learn what REAL punk is....

  • @Stryker37573 I doubt oldschool punks care what an idiot that loves "Mortal Kombat 9 (2011)" thinks ?

Go to trashy videogame vids, you kitschy twat

  • @sclapione you stalked my profile for a lame comment? creeper??? your from Comoros thats an insult in itself, lmao and your really an ignorant cunt that needs to get a life, learn what punk is and ill think about talking to you

  • Was a great album , hot summer that year. sweaty basement clubs

  • Australian band Mr Floppy one had a song called "100,000 Morrisseys".

What would happen if 100 punks met 100,000 Morrissey fans?!?

  • i played this album to death brill

  • I love 17 and 18 year olds pontificating on the 1970's and 80's, it's unintentionally funny!!

  • @TwoPointsUp yeah but it is good fun winding them up

  • @MrSexpistols1 ha ha! true enough :o)

  • ass spring eat ASS!!!

  • ...and Jimmy's number 101!...

  • I haven't heard this album in years. It was my favorite back in the late '70s when I was a teenager :) Off to find a site that sells it now on the Internet...

  • @whitekuduone -how old r u??? It is actually ppl like YOU that put shame to the music world-Offspring-I love em-but-sorry-I was a teenager when GX were doing this -ffs-I have it on Vinyl--YOU cannot have a clue where proper punk or Billy Idol is concerned-Offspring-wanabeeeees...

  • Fuck you idiots who keep fighting give me the shits. Today it seems everyone, even those not born when it all began, are an expert on Punk. I am an old fart who has been a total fanatic of Punk since the mid 70's and still love it as much today. And I wouldn't for a second try to tell people what they should be doing or thinking.or listening to. Because all these stupid rules and divisions are only for idiots like you ! Just shut the fuck up and have some fun you brats !.

  • @decaysvegan exactuly there should be no rules in punk people should dress how they want and speak their mind not argue about bands and fight each other we should unite and restore our genre of music and our scenes to what they were when we started

  • @decaysvegan new generation are a bunch of pussies. used to be called slam-dancing ...not moshing. Bet you 100$ that none of these argumentative wimps never punched their best friend in the face to wake him up after being knocked out.

  • @decaysvegan RESPECT 4 ur comment... I think punk is about not giving a damn about other people's opinion. And i think punk is not dead, and don't care what other people say.

  • 110 punks rule!!!

  • 70's Punk, The Clash...exactly.

  • whos Jimmy?

  • @blinktom11guitar Always wondered that myself

  • @Flakatak76 i always thought it might have been the guitar player, cause then theres the solo. like WATCH HIM WATCH HIM GOOO *guitar solo*

  • @ChrisHatepunk yeah theoffspring are a different punk but it's not kiddie punk cause kiddie punk doesn't swear XD

  • Haha between this an the offspring's this is better theoffspring need to pick songs that will work for their sound not ones that are as good as can be and try to make them better

  • fuck the off spring

  • Offspring version is way better.

  • @larryanthony1

    Die.

  • @larryanthony1 Only because Offsprings version is a nowaday style music so they've made it in a nowaday mod :p

  • @MIDL78 I hear what your saying man but I still prefer it.

  • @larryanthony1 taste if different for all ppls ^^

But you can't say GX version is bad :D It rocks !

  • believe me im old enough to have been there this kicks the eighties well into touch the 80,s were depressing in the late seventies punk was about havin fun there was no po faced uniformity (mohawks studs and anarchy) it was crap metal dressed up as punk however we now have x factor as the arbiter of good taste so bring back punk in any form

  • @The2yung2 WRONG thers shit loads of happy hardore

  • naw, 80's HXC is much better! but classic is good too! PUNK RAWK!!!

  • @tabormather2787 Eh, it's a matter of opinion.Personally, I think that some 80s hardcore punk bands are good, but most are uncreative and sound too similar to each other. So I prefer 70s classic punk and 90s/early 00s pop punk.

  • nah, i stopped giggling to this one because it's the original song fron this great band

  • harmonic and still PUNK ROCK, class late 70s punk rock .,,,.. long live KING BILLY

  • i bought 100 studs and put em on the back of my jacket and spelled "100 punks rule"

  • @Boogieboy138 thats actually really cool haha.

  • @Boogieboy138 I have a tattoo on my neck that says that!!!

  • Great album...Heard it a thousand times and still love it...Offspring too political? Ahh...A ten year old can run against those clowns for office and hold more relevance and intellect...Cred given to 80's punk bands only? Guess you have been fortunate enough to have lived in a bombshelter your whole life and never heard of the popular sex pistols/ ramones...who started punk... debate b.s. ..Fuck credit but it's been given plenty to that decade. 70 80 90 2000's.Great bands in all of them...

  • @hecticcargo ou yeah this guy listens to real music listen to him!

  • its a shame that we done hear quality like this played on radio, instead they seem to feed us fodder.

  • aha punk is amazing all u need to do is go underground into the adicts and fruit eating bears or demon preacher... black flag . suicidal tendencies :D trust me ;) pm me and ill give u a list of great bands from the 70s to 90s :)

  • Brilliant first album. One of the first records I bought in '78.

  • pardon my french but this is fucking awesome

  • Love it...Im trying to find Truimph!!

  • great song,great album,great music time

  • no idea this was billy idol til like 2 seconds ago

    i knew of gen x

i knew he was in it

but i couldnt figure out this song was by til now!!!

  • brilliant that thanks for uploading

  • good punk i prefer 80 hardcore but still better than the offspring version......their best cover was oc life dunno why but nearly all their covers suck like agent orange's bloodstains....^^

  • I think offspring version ROCKS :D

They didn't change too much of the original style of the song, but made it a little more "up to time", so I think Offs did a great job on 100 punks.

  • guess so......if you say that..... i think the offspring used to be a kickass band but americana sucked and I wont ever forgive em their sellout but i have to admit their DI cover was great....i dont like their 100 punks cover though....no question generation x are an awesome band and i own their stuff but offspring....dunno, theyre kinda kiddypunk and i hate that..

  • ahahah why don't you like post-Americana Offspring?

I think they're still a great band, even if their best time was probably the age of Ignition or Ixnay on the Hombre.

They are "balanced"... I mean, not too underground to be known but not totally mainstream to keep making good music.

  • haha guess im just too ignorant and close minded to like em i mean i like a lot of punk bands but when all the fags at my school start liking them i usually say: screw it..... i was into offspring when i was 7...my parent were punks so i started very early now im into 70 punk, 80 hardcore n other underground stuff.....sorry for my ignorance but i know i aint gonna work on it. i just dont like em band are: DRI,Verbal Abuse,PIL,Sick Pleasure,TSOL,FILTH,BLatz n shitloads of others......hahaha^^

  • btw the bands listed there are meant to be my fav bands but youtube didnt post the word favourite for some reason :P

  • Nice, I've been "exploring" underground punk bands for a while since the time when I only listened to Offs and few other bands during the 90s.

Just in this days I'm going back to the origins of punk rock.. back in the 70s :)

    Good Bye Chris.

  • Offspring are too political, too middle class liberal. Fucking poseurs.

  • @whitekuduone its people like you that put shame to the music world... The Offspring are an awesome punk-rock band. and as for your remark about them being to political ya thats a huge pile of BULLSHIT! they have 2 maybe 3 songs max out of their NINE (10 after 2010) damn albums that take shots at the fucked up political systems of the world. Shit is Fucked Up being their most political song is still great. there too middle class... man thats a sad-ass reason to hate a band as well.

  • @semperfiman550 offspring wrote a album about bush dude! also rise and fall is completly political. "show me how to lie"?

  • @uberari ooo one album. I can't stand people who lash ou

  • @semperfiman550 rise and fall rage and grace was almost completly political! but thats why i like offspring! its funny! too bad your too young to get it.

  • @uberari wtf 0.o that comment was not even suppose to post i never hit post.. half of it was deleted 0.o and according to your profile you're 18... i'm 19 buddy.

  • @semperfiman550 yeah but i was raised listening to politics and reading the news paper. if offspring arent political in rise and fall, idk what it is.

  • @uberari Rise and Fall does have political content in it but that dose not make the whole album political. There are several different ways to look at a song.

  • @semperfiman550 a lot of the punks were just rich teenagers that were pissed off because there parents didn't let them do what they wanted to...

  • @Stryker37573 thats not completely true okey im a punk and im poor there thats proof

  • @sallygirl2066 well a large percent of punk rockers in the 80s were rich... there is proof

  • @Stryker37573 THIS WASNT IN THE 80S THIS WAS THE 70S

  • @sallygirl2066 ... punk was most relevant in the 80s...

  • @Stryker37573 yeah but punk started in the 70s and this band was a great band i love them they should have never broke up well some of that is a lie if they hadnt broke u there wouldnt be a billy FUCKING idol would there

  • @sallygirl2066 i don't really listen to Billy Idol...

  • @Stryker37573 well good for you i love him

  • @Stryker37573 Clueless.

  • @Stryker37573 Again.... "Punk was more 'relevant' in the 80's?!?!?" This is a silly statement coming from a 23-year old.... More "relevant"?!?!? What the hell does that even mean? I was in the middle of that scene - my father's friend brought me to the Metroplex in Atlanta to see Exploited and Motorhead when I was 12 in the mid-80's - but even we knew our roots. Some of you kids really haven't cut your "punk rock teeth" yet, and opinions like this are the proof.

  • @Stryker37573 "A large percentage of 80's punkers were rich?" hahahahaha I'm done here... You really need to sit down with your mom and dad and learn a bit more about the punk scene before you post any more of this nonsense... In the late 80's, most of the punks I knew were flopping in abandoned warehouses and in roach-infested apartments. I don't even know what you are trying to say here, but you are not making any sense.

  • @badluckhoppy Huntington Beach, California... Laguna Beach, California... VERY rich areas... based on statistics most of the residents were rich... and the ones living in abandoned homes were obviously runways..

  • @Stryker37573 All that tells me is that there were punkers in the suburbs as well.... Not every punk came from the few towns you listed. I knew plenty of punks who came from middle-class suburban homes, but I knew just as many if not more) gutter punks who came from the other side of the tracks.... And of the suburban kids who had parents with money, most of them came from abusive broken homes... I was there, and I can tell you that it certainly wasn't a "rich kid" scene.

  • @Stryker37573

Hey man, just name one and you win your case, right? Think about it.

  • @whitekuduone hahaha retard

  • @ChrisHatepunk

They most likely did a crappy job on the Bloodstains cover intentionally, after the whole lawsuit thing. I wouldn't be suprised anyway. Not a huge Offspring fan myself, although S/T and Ignition were pretty good.

  • @Capnsensible80

yeah man they did...Not a huge offspring fan too but as you said their first 2 and in my opinion also "smash" were great.....

  • punk is about taking risks, that's it .... so go out and do it -oh yeah if they don't get u.. tell them to read your finger and come back for the test

  • this is an anthem

  • i love this song... but i like the offspring version better

  • you gotta be kidding offspring suck

  • Don't hate. They have talent, and I like em. You have to respect music choice's, or else haters win.

  • i just think the original is good and find the offspring a bit annoying and whiny man. smash is actually a good album tho i just think they got too poppy

  • Blasphemer

  • @jennshado46 You didn't really say you like "Offspring's" cover better than this one, did you? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I can totally respect that, but placing an "offspring" cover above Generation X's original is relative to putting Brittney Spears' cover of "Satisfaction" above the Stones.....

  • i liked punk when it was raw like this and not noise.....*cough*exploited

  • OFFSPRING

  • I LOVE this song! I don't know how many times I've listened. It is still very cool!

  • no, i love this song...

  • Oi, oi, oi!

  • very good!

  • generation x is the BEST!

  • Loved the guitar solo in this tune way back. Pretty cool guitar work for a punk band.

  • most punk bands are capible of great guitar work go listen to dead kennedys song pull my stings i love the solo

  • Pull My Strings is a brilliant song and their best IMO.

  • Isn't there a slow version o this? By Gen X? Anyone know where to find it?

  • Slow version?

    oh, you mean record quality.

    Chek some mp3 sites

  • lol 70s punk bands rock! its strange though, people only give credit the 80s hardcore punk though. but in my opinion 70s classic is better!

  • @sandmanhater thats sooo true, i agree totaly

  • @sandmanhater yes 70s punk is better

  • @superemposed your a faggot if you think that

  • @super7fanboy do not put other people in the same class as yourself

  • @superemposed LOOK AT YOUR ICON its gay the 70s sucked 80s where WAY better fuck you i hope you die jonas bros fan

  • @super7fanboy Super, the 70's gave birth to the 80's, which was the better decade of the two, but respect.

  • @super7fanboy You are a friggin moron. It is always you kids who weren't even there who have the strongest opinions about punk rock. Calling people "faggots" for listening to 70's punk? Where in the hell do you think 80's punk came from? You think Black Flag, Subhumans, Dead Kennedys, UK Subs, etc. were born in a vacuum? Had it not been for bands like The Stooges, The Clash, The Ramones, Generation X, Velevet Underground, etc., you would have never had 80's punk/hardcore.

  • @badluckhoppy Right on- I'm totally with you on all your posts here. I was only 13 in '78. It was through Blondie that I fell head over heels in love with punk/new wave the following year. Haven't been the same since!

  • @super7fanboy Funny that you would say that people who love 70's punk/post-punk are "faggots" when you have Joy Division wallpaper on your page. Guess what era Joy Division came from? I'll give ya a hint, kid.... It was before the 80's. I can't stand elitist punks who dictate who can and cannot listen to punk, but to be in your early 20's and have such strong opinions about "faggots" who prefer 77 punk to 80's hardcore, maybe you should read a book or something.

  • @badluckhoppy I know why would someone be a faggot if they love this music.I am 12 and love all punk does that make me a fag? NO that makes the person who said you were is.

  • @sallygirl2066 Right on, Sallygirl..... Your taste in music certainly doesn't dictate your sexual preference... It merely means that you are a person who knows great music and can appreciate the roots of great music.

  • @badluckhoppy Just call me cc and thanks

  • @super7fanboy not all of us are like him....... please dont associate us with this douche.

  • @uberari gay zombies from venus

  • @sandmanhater but in our opinion

  • @sandmanhater 80s kills and rapes 70s punk

  • @super7fanboy Oh god, you are one of those douchebags who act like their opinions are facts.

  • @sandmanhater totally dude.my favorite punk is original 60's american punk like mc5 and the stooges though.i really couldnt give a flying fuck about british hardcore...they cant rock like the californians!

  • @sandmanhater wtf? By the 80's punk was completely dead. All the "punk" bands from the 80's onwards suck.

  • So was there a Band that had a guy that looked like Billy Idol? because I herd there was, and I dont mean Gen X I know he was in Gen X.

  • I bought this on the day it came out on my college rag day. It's a great album, I played it to death. I have some great shots of them live in 79. Not sure who the other band are with a lookalike although I seem to remember the singer in Slaughter and the dogs had similar hair when I saw them live. It was 30 years ago mind you.

  • you mean Chelsea! with James Stevenson and Gene October.

  • (James Stevenson.?....I meant Tony James)

  • does anybody know the name of the album? i totally didn't even know billy idol was in Generation X til today! i was listening to Kiss Me Deadly and say him and was like "Holy CRAP!"

  • the song is on the 1st generation x album self called generation x(cover is as above on video ) its class

  • Generation X rocks man!! :)

  • AAHHH. :)

  • This was one of the best songs from a fantastic first album by Generation X. Unfortunately, they seemed to lose their way after this.

  • Awesome that I found my OTHER favorite song from Generation X! X3 Shame he decided to go solo, they could've been so much bigger.

  • GREAT!!!

  • whoah this is great

  • I love this band!

  • masterpiece
