  • Lord Buckley -early comic genius

  • The fact that I listened to this over and over as an impressionable youngster goes a long way toward explaining my --ahem-- Bent worldview.

  • Spoken Word!

  • I hope I'm not ruining this for anyone, but only now do I realize the reference to Nazareth.

  • @mattybock Yea, that's what I always thought too.

  • if they can't straighten it they know a cat who knows a cat that's gonna get it straight

  • thank you, Tom Waits and PaganBodhisatva

  • The Genius of him, such a pity no one inherited that talent.

  • @buttership It's out there, we just can't hear it. :-)

  • do you dig it!!!the hippest exquiste cat that ever breathed every time i saw him do his thing was joyous for days

  • He kinda sounds like Wolfman Jack.

  • 1 dislike? blasphemy!

  • GRAND, JUST GRAND. : )

  • keepy it cool and smooth babies with Lord Buckley laying down his riffs like Bird Lord Buckley LIVES!!!!!!!

  • One person couldn't see through The Nazz's eyes.

  • Climax starts at 7:45.

  • the NAZZarine, baby!

  • Nazz had them pretty eyes! He wanted everyone to see through his eyes so they could see how pretty it was!

  • This awesome but it differs from Rap... it's an earlier form of spoken word... but most will compare it to rap out of lack of exposure...

  • Sounds like that haggler creature from Star Wars.

  • Would it embarrass you very much if I were to tell you that I love you?

Well, it's a kick anyway, isn't it? What a great thing it is to be alive!

Lord Buckley lives as long as The Nazz reverberates. Redig The Nazz!

  • OMG after 32 yhears I finally understand the song The Naz by The Word and now it's even better, this guy was a genius!

  • Rap has nothing on this guy...

  • SWINGIN'!!

  • If you love this stuff -- check Iceberg Slim. Same era, slightly different style. But all in that same realm. Both have gone to their rewards. Fathers of rap no doubt. "The jingle-jangle morning" line in "Mr Tambourine Man" was borrowed by Mr. Dylan from Mr. Buckley. Probably the only beat generation-hipster who could be aligned with the rap generation and slam poetry. Both men were Originals....capital O.

  • @lastrada52 Dylan stole from everyone

  • here com the Nazz...

  • Listening to this bit of vintage vinyl (thanks for the upload!) reminds me of when I first heard his splendid voice: when he was the voice of Go Man Van Gogh on Beany and Cecil. 'Come on Babies! Let's Go On Down The Road!"

  • he was the the Nazz, with god given ass. he took it all to far but boy could he play guitar

  • dig it :)

  • i've never heard anything like it before. love it

  • Hahaha awesome, Can you dig Infinity?!?!

  • Dig Infinity!

  • thanks 2 u fer posting this on teh youtubes

  • come on babies ...

  • Thanks so much for posting!!!!

  • The Nazz= Jesus of Nazareth

  • carzy coonass heroin junky funny dood!

  • He influenced so many, but in particular his phrasing and low register stuff was enthusiastically adapted by Beefheart - Big Time i reckon!

  • Lord Buckley rules

  • if anyone knows the WWF's Ultimate Warrior, i'm sure he was diggin on this stuff with all his fast talk mind trip stuff, he's got little warriors floating in his veins. i love this beat imagination man, top notch.

  • When Lord Buckley laid it down, it stayed down!
