  • 16 years later this would still eat those whiny little brats alive at warped tour other similar music fests

  • SHIT!! I was a junior in HS at this time!! And I loved every minute of it!! Saw them live during this tour. Look up MSG performance it was epic too!!

  • What an amazing idea to play Bowie's 'Art Decade' 0:00 - 0:37 before a NIN gig!

  • @indruchova Ive read "Low" is one of Trent's fav albums.

  • This was the best show I have ever seen...PERIOD!!!! It opend with a kick in the chest, pure power and aggression. Seen Rage, Tool, Manson, Ministry, FLA to name a few. Good friends with Martin Steek from 102.1 so I saw tonnes for free.....

  • oh my fuck!

  • Fuckin badass Industrial Rockin NIN AT ITS BEST!!!

  • the 90's were so amazing

  • NINJA 09 was great too

  • @Squirrel247

yeah it was just to bad JA was headlining

  • Wish i coulda been there. With an eight ball on the side.

  • Oh man, I would seriously sacrifice my left nut just to see a few gigs from the Self-Destruct Tour... Everything on it appears to be just amazing.

  • hehe it kinda looks like a school talent show in the beginning

  • Wow...Pinion sounds awesome live. I wish it was longer and louder like this on the Broken CD. I have to find some CD version of this version of Pinion.

  • i really love the howl at the end.

this was fifteen years ago, yesterday. wish i could've been there.

  • i wanna get to the point where i can make people crazy like this again

  • good luck

  • it'll be easy i'll just throw drugs into the crowd.

  • This is the same thing they opened with when i saw them only a few years ago. Awesome!

  • It makes me cry to think I was only 2 when this happened!

  • I was born in '70 and there are some rock and roll moments that took place before I was born that I'm still upset that I missed, so you're not alone. Good thing about your age is, you can see everything you missed right here on YouTube. The stuff I missed out on is a little harder to track down. :)

  • you missed the beatles lol

  • Hmm200: I was 14... but I still got to see them in Houston (on Halloween, no less). I had to sneak out of the house and rode with some of my friends from school... lol my Mom had the police looking for me and I was busily getting kicked in the head by people dressed as vampires and dominatrices!!! :D Too bad Trent seems to be finally hanging up his mic... :(

  • Same here. NEED TIME MACHINE.

  • i was 6 :(

  • weak. i was still in uterus!

  • moshing before they've even started- love it!

  • I've seen NIN live six times and this was by far the best opener. For a while, Trent was opening with Terrible Lies. I like the song but it just gets the show off to a lethargic, anti-climactic start. Mr. Self-Destruct on the other hand gets things on the destructive pace necessary for a NIN concert!

  • Interesting and I agree. Although Terrible Lie on AATCHB is still a tremendous opening, I think maybe this would have fitted better. This song definitely sets the tone.

  • how the hell you can open a concert with this song???

    can't wait to see NIN...

  • How CAN'T you? I'm praying they open with this or Now I'm Nothing this summer.

  • I saw Now I'm Nothing on 05/09/09. Radness.

  • easy for nin u just do< 3

  • YEAH TRENT!

  • PINION!

  • Beautiful...love the screams

  • Reznor evolves as an artist, if he were to go back to the roots (as said below) he would be selling himself short because of the progress made, PHM is classic and one of my favs but I appreciate the later albums too, No one is on his level.

  • well there are a few artists that do that trents not original in that aspect look at bowie, cooper, and manson for instance they change there albums alot like trent does but he should go back to the sound of NIN during the 90's. artists usually go back to the sound that made them popular with their newfound experiance they have and then they usually make a kick ass album, that makes ppl who say"he sucks now" shit their pants.

  • I disagree (respectively) Manson was Reznor's protege'. Correct me if I am wrong but his first was "Portrait" it was heavy and raw, then if u want to get technical, Smells/Children and then AntiChrist (Portrait and Antichrist was produced by Reznor) followed by several more lesser know albums then, Eat Me Drink Me. From Portrait to Eat me... there is an obvious evolution of the music, but to question your post; Where did he "go back to the sound that made him popular?" I don't see or hear it man

  • Oh...and I forgot Mechanical Animals, sorry.

  • plus reznor kicked him out of nothing studio to work on the soundtrack for lost highway, but to get to your question about the music, hes like a modern day david bowie his music is wierd and different with every album theme, the most current one was least favorite of his fans.

  • ok...producer, executive porducer. (My bad) you still didn't answer the question I proposed from your oringinal reply.

  • which one was that, the one i posted 3 days ago?

  • just got it trhu email...you kinda answered it. I always enjoy talking music w someone who seems to know what they are talking about. Cheers.

  • no problem, me too.

  • btw not to sound like a sick fuck or anything but is there a way to find a better quality version of the original gave up music video at all? not the one with manson on guitar, the one , you know thats bloody.

  • I have looked for it; but have not found it, if u do let me know. I sent you a friend request so we can keep in touch about NIN and put people in their place that don't know wtf they are talking about, like that idiot jimbob guy who has commented on your page.

  • You'll probably never find a better quality vid, considering that A. it's never been released, and B. It was ripped from an old VHS. Unless Trent decides to actually release that thing, not much is gonna happen when it comes to quality.

  • Its meant to look like a snuff film, so even the master is probably shit.

  • actually reznor only produced mansons first album, he was executive producer with Antichrist, which if u look it up on wiki, ep's in the music industry are in charge of the marketing aspects of the album such as promotion and shipping, reznor didn;y really do anything producction wise for antichrist except play piano on the final track and guitar for deformography, the album was made soly by manson twiggy, and sean beavan who was the actual co producer.

  • cams back in the day were huge. its totally hidden in a bag with a hole in it ,no? i applaud you if so

  • PHM was totally not his best work, TDS or The Fragile was his greatest achievements

  • Classic ol' school NIN at its most visceral era in the 90's!!!!

  • @Redzombie13 You`re right... Powerfull "song"!

  • Year Zero was actually pretty damn good. With Teeth was alright, but Pretty Hate Machine is nowhere near their best work. Sorry, you fail. We're not in the 80s anymore with Skinny Puppy.

  • Manson and Jim Rose, where Manson took over, like Trent did Jane's at Lolloapoloza.

  • NIN from 90s is classic - today's stuff if ok, but nothing as awesome or unique as back then!

Wish NIN could get back to the same roots it started! Please, please, please, pretty please!

  • totally agree. My first time seeing them will be the 26 of Nov. but i wish i could've seen them in this era, or The fragile era

  • i was about 1 and a half months old...strange

  • nice.

  • Wow, and to think I was born just a week later.

    . . . Why, mom, WHY?!!!

  • Too bad that background guitar from 5:09-5:45 isn't on the CD track I love that. Priceless vid thanks!

  • I think you guys are missing the big picture. Would you still want Bowie to be Ziggy Stardust? Artists who are always the same are never as good.

  • I remember being at this show (ya I'm old). still have the full show on video somewhere. Manson and the Jim Rose Circus opened for him

  • Oh and one more thing I forgot to add to that was that Trent was more crazed out in his performances during the Spiral days. He's still pretty good now but nothing beats the old school Trent.

  • Fuck Yeah!! Now thats a true NIN show! Trent with the long hair, dress up in all industrial crazy mode, smoke, lights on stage, breaking the instruments. Today's NIN show isn't as crazy, loud, smokey, and industrial as before. Today's NIN is just medium dark lights Trent standing on stage with his muscles and very short hair singing, good. But nothing as good as before. I wish I've got to see them then but hey at least I got to see them last year during the year zero tour so I can't conplain.

  • 5:53 - 5:55 = lollll amazing

  • saw him on jan 95

to this day, still the loudest

i ever heard( at convacation center in cleveland)

  • Could anything have been better than this?

  • Man... I was almost 10 when they played this show. I totally could have handled floor seats.

  • i was almost 3, i should be on trents shoulders for the show.

i was a pretty hardcore baby

  • Ha, I was 5! I could've been holding his hand. And I lived in Toronto at the time.

  • imageine being at that

  • GOT GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER ME

  • i was 2 and a half when he was singing "you let me do this to you"...God i wish i was there...

  • god i love the sound of that guitar

  • i was born in this fucking year...

  • Your one twist kid then.

  • Good for you.

  • I live in this fucking city...

  • I feel old because of this, but I'm way too young : (

  • your a yunging, no foul language!!

  • Good show, but his voice seems to be lacking at this concert.

  • Wow this is intense, even on youtube. I can't imagine what it felt like being there.

  • visceral

  • AMAZING!!!

  • cool

  • Does anyone know what is being played before the lights go out right at the very beginning of this?

  • ... i new this.... i think its now im nothing...

  • art decade, by david bowie of off the low album.

  • I seriously got chills watching this. God I need to see them live again right fucking now. Ugh.

  • This is awesome to see but man...everything about the 2006/2007 version of this song is so much better...faster drums, a step lower (so it's heavier by default), REAL bass and Aaron doing all that feedback noise during the breakdown and outro on his guitar.

    NIN 2007 > NIN 1994.

  • No. Fucking. Way.

  • Did you actually see the "Self-Destruct" Tour? Because if you did there's no way you could say that what you just said and actually believe it.

  • I saw them performing this song live in 2007, and am sorry to say that it was just too clean.

  • lol, my sentiments exactly knifymoloko.....this is prolly one of my fave heavy songs ever...though i do prefer closer or big man with a gun lol, but this song pwns hardcore!!!!!

  • Damn wish I was born a decade earlier so I could've experienced this...

  • So do I man. I saw them in 2006 but this is up there with the Use Your Illusion tour that I also never saw.

  • Same Here. SELF DESTRUCT ROCKED HARDER THAN ANYTHING ELSE NIN HAVE EVER DONE.

  • Yay!MR SELF DESTRUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OH MY GOD!!!

  • love it! :D

  • The drummer they have now can't hold a candle to Chris Vrenna when it comes to this song.

  • F*cking right! I've been saying this since Vrenna left in '98. The Finck/Vrenna combo was lethal.

  • True. But Freese is still a good fuckin drummer.

  • that is amazing

  • Wow...

  • Holy shit.

  • Absolutelly awesome self destruction video.

I saw MrSD in Munich 2007 show and that was as good as Self Destruction era MrSDs. But awesome too.

    Once again: Perfect.

  • thanks man been waiting for this \m/
