I remember listening every Sunday night in the early 90s, the Z-ROCK 50 syndicated show on WHJY in Providence, Rhode Island. I was one of the many listeners around the country who were wondering who played this "munsters" theme song on the Z-ROCK 50 show. Finally, one time the dj of the show mentioned the name of the band (White Pigs), and that, cause many fans of the show wanted to know the artist.
I saw this band at a bar in New London Ct back in the early to mid 80s, I was about 14 and me and my friend Jim and I used an ID of a Israeli national named Seraphim Caszenko to get in. I paid and went in, got my hand stamped and then went outside and gave the ID to him and he did the same..this band was from Willimantic or Manchester Ct.. probably the first crossover band (DRI is credited with being first but i think it was this band) the pigs had a great red vinyl 45 that i still have
I wish Z Rock was still around. I remember rigging my cat sterero in the house with a battery and an antenna in the rafters just to get the Cleveland Z rock in Youngstown.
I just dug out my old box of cassette tapes, I know I recorded this song off of Z-ROCK . Found it. The program was called wounded radio, April 1994. I would sit there with my tape recorder, finger on the record button just waiting to hear that opening guitar riff.
@marobeym DITO DUDE I WAS WORKIN ON MY OLD MUSTANG LATE ONE NITE WITH A GOOD BEER BUZ AND HEARD THIS ON Z ROCK OUTA CHICAGO BACK IN 80 SOMTHING. AND I WAS SO PEED AT THE DJ CAUSE HE NEVER SAID WHO IT WAS. IF ID KNOWIN BACK THEN I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT.THANX JKN CHARLIE.
I remember hearing this on ZRock on Houston and the DJ accidently said White Zombie. White Zombie played that weekend. The first time they came through on La Sexorcisto, I met them and asked about this song and they looked at me like the dumb ass I was.
True, True. Z-Rock jumped all over the dial from 89.3 to 99.1 to 94.5. In June 1989 Z-Rock went off the air in DFW. I remember thinking why are they playing this lame music, but it was theEdge.
I used to pick up ZROCK all the way up in Milwaukee..then I moved to FL and a few months later ZROCK was rolling in my town...on AM (lame) but it still ruled.
This song used to be the opening theme for Joe Anthony's metal show late nights on 99.5 kiss here in san antonio,tx during the 1980s, I grew up never missing that show and loved this song.
@JKNCharlie-Long live Joe Anthony, bringing real metal to San Antonio!!!He turned me onto Budgie,Moxy,JP,Loudness,Legs Diamond and so many more!!!He's still DJaying where he's at!!
What do you know about the band White Pigs ?? It took me awhile to find the Ep of them after hearing their version of the Munsters Theme on Z rock many years ago. I think I found the ep in a Detroit record store
I remember that...it was one of those songs they never gave warning about before playing and it was short enough that trying to get it on tape was a lost cause. An ZROCK was the best hard rock/metal radio network (for those of use that didn't live in a good radio city like LA or NYC.
thanks for your answer. I was told that the White Pigs won a contest that was for whoever could do the BEST heavy metal version of the Muenster's Theme would win the chance to make an ep. Is this true ?
I remember when this was the opening for the Z-Rock 1000
