Enjoying watching all these wonderful clips I didn't know existed! Love my "Isis Unveiled" CD - you have a powerful voice Jaki - and the Court of Miracles is awesome too. Hugs from Susan x
brilliant Jaki, I have a 45 single of yours, the B side is superb, a tune called But which way do I Go.... I spin it often in my dj persona. I also have a very old tape of your self & John Cartright that Den Ray left me, do you have copies of that stuff?
Saw Jaki in '73 at Newcastle city hall, I was blown away! immediately went out an bought 'Raw but tender' and wore the grooves off it! Great to see the lady is still working and performing. Nice one Jaki.
nice one jaki?ive been wondering where you were, last saw you a 100 yrs ago in southampton wearing cowgirl boots.and i bought THE LP after the concert and ive still got it,and made a few copies from it onto cd,for friends, hope you dont mind.i saw in internet that its now available in cd format.but i suppose they have got rid of that lovely crackling noise of the old vinyl.s so i think i will carry on listening to my vinyl cd copy ? take care and god bless (whoever he or she may be,stephen
I've got your new cd and i like it specialy rock and roll gypsies and the parisienne i love your voice it would be wonderfull with an orchestra, and i'd like to play trombone in your new album !!!
So pleased to hear this wonderful music and your new CD at long last. Saw you in Glasgow supporting the Mahavishnu Orchestra(!)in Glasgow all those years ago and never forgot what a gifted artist you are. "Court of Miracles" is a fantastic album. I urge everyone to seek it out and your records with John Cartwright, "International Times" and "Rhythm Hymn". One question: Why such a low profile? I and I'm sure many others would go out of our way to hear you perform in Britain. Please!!
hi jaki,we met you years ago,so glad your still writing and singing,we still often listen to raw but tender, its one of the very few albams that are truely timeless, love and peace, god bless.tony and sandy, from plymouth
The Raw but Tender album is phenomenal - vocally, lyrically and musically - some of the best acoustic guitar work you will ever hear. I lost it a long time ago and am OVERJOYED that it's been released on CD (which I have just ordered). Thank god that music-lovers don't forget! Get it - you'll love it!
(Just ordered Isis Unveiled too because the above is just awesome - the world needs this music -- food for your soul!)
I saw Jaki when I was 17 and she was 19 in a hall near Birmingham sat there with her guitar singing these beautiful songs. "Give her the Day" had been recently released and when she sang it and the whole room started singing the chorus, she looked up incredulous that everyone knew her song and tears rolled down her cheeks. It's one of those moments that stays with you forever (as it has with me these 35 years!).
Album came today Jaki, 'give her the day' & 'but which way do I go' made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, memories flood back!! Thank you so much. Peace. Dave.
Where the HELL are MOJO magasine when it matters!?This performance marks the subtle and vital return of one of the greatest female soul vocalists of all time. This track is from the long long awaited follow up album to Jaki's 1973 'Raw But Tender' album ..2007 'Isis Unveiled' available now from Amazon uk ( go via her my space website link ) and anyone with ANY sense or real heart in the happening music press should alert the world to Jaki's sublime new album. Stunning!
