  • They shot this film to promote Lady maddona. They decided not to waste time in the studio and recorded Hey Bulldog. The video went out with the Lady M soundtrack.

Agree with Dan 1963....both songs stand out.

  • um this is not rare. on yellow submarine

  • ATTENTION ALL JOHN LENNON FANS

On October 9th we will all watch "Imagine" in honor of the greatest singer ever's birthday. Let's give him the best birthday present ever: the highest viewed video on YouTube!! Let's give him what he deserves and what Justin Bieber does not deserve to have!

Copy and paste to all John lennon/beatles videos and all music videos let's get this noticed quickly!

    THUMBS THIS UP

    LET'S GET THIS NOTICED

    Lets help John lennon

  • this is my fav one to do in rock band love it

  • 2:52 George: My friends are messed up...

  • @Gilmch37 XD

  • rare?

  • Thank you!!!!!! Love to see J & P singing together on the same mike, reading the lyrics. Oh so sweet.

  • Thank you!!!!!!

  • 2:43 - Whenever John laughs past that point... it kind of scares me. He sounds like a maniac. But I still love him! :P

  • The Beatles, Feb. 1968...

One of the last really "fun" times in the studio...before India...before "The White Album"...before Yoko at every session...before EVERYTHING changed...

One of their very best and certainly way overlooked !

    John's "state of consciousness" lyrics; Paul's thumping bass and sweet harmonies;

    George's killer guitar solo; Ringo's rock-steady drumming...

The Beatles in the studio...it doesn't get any better than this !

  • @gtrDan1963 I agree

  • @gtrDan1963 totally agree,before chaos...

  • @gtrDan1963

Dig it,I agree 100% with everything exept beieve it or not that is John playing the lead solo on Hey Bulldog.(Look it up in any Beatles recording sessions books, and there are many) John only played lead on just a few Beatles cuts.Like 'One after 909' on rooftop in Let it Be Movie, and a very few early Beatles cuts, also on the album version of Let it Be.George played lead on the single(45) version of Let it Be, and a few others john played lead on.Not many.

  • @frankty67 According to Mark Lewisohn's "Beatles' Recording Sessions", John's solos over the years are on: "You Can't Do That", "Every Little Thing", duet with George on "And Your Bird...", "Revolution", in unison with George on "Hey Bulldog" (John's low, George is high), "Yer Blues" (1st solo), both versions of "Get Back", "Come Together" and "I Want You"

When the "Let It Be" LP solo is recorded on January 4,1970, John had left the band.

Still...a great tune no matter what !

  • @gtrDan1963 Hey you may be right about George and John soloing on Hey Bulldog.I got Both Marc Lewinsons books "The recording sessions and The Complete Beatle Files. So I have to look that up.Either way Hey Bulldog is the Most Killer Underated Beatle song. Its just manic. That double lead 12string solo that John and George do on "Bird can Sing" is my all time favorite.I remember George saying that his son asked him how that solo was done. was.rock on!!!

  • Look at Paul at 1:01, 1:11 and him and John at 1:14-1:16. They look so into it, like they're having so much fun.

  • I love you John and Paul. <3 They're having so much fun in this video -- I love when they bark. lol

  • Really good video. When you watch old videos of these guys in their prime, they looked like they were having the time of their life. Can you imagine what it must of felt like to be them during the time?

  • half of that is lady madonna!

  • They invented the music video as we know it.

  • suchh a turn on!!!!the beatles are talented gorgeous and amazing! loovee uu all!!

  • Cheers to all you people who have taken the time to upload these Beatles rarities, regardless of whether they are rare or not. Beleive it or not ther'e are people out there who have'nt heard some of this shit. I even came across a version of Norwegian Wood that had previously been unknown to me...keep up the good work lads.

  • Love this song...and the BEATLES! Thanks for sharing it..."If you're lonely you can talk to me..."

    Can't get better than this!

  • This looks like one of the films they would send to the Ed Sullivan Show. When they could no longer be on the show for whatever reason, they would send videos. This is one reason why they are given credit for pioneering music videos.

  • The footage was originally used for Lady Madonna, and then re-used for Hey Bulldog(which is, of course, what they are producing in the footage)

  • Great John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're AWSOME!! Thank you for uploading this!! :D <3

  • Wow, WHAT a cool song! Why the hell did I not hear this before. Wow. Its so different... I LOVE John Lennon's voice here. lol and near the end... wow... umm... they were going a bit high there, weren't they?? eheh. LOL and now I finally get to see what Paul meant in an interview about barking/howling and John's approval. XD XD XD
