Think about this bank scam. Remember when Mega banks were saying that by rounding up your credit card charges they would put that difference in your account? Well here is how it works. Imagine taking change from millions of people.
PT Barnum had a saying in order to get rich. BETTER A LOT OF FAST NICKELS THAN A FEW SLOW DIMES.
If you take a penny and double it every day you could be a millionaire in less than month.
Think about this. Banks pay you about 1.5 percent on your saving's account. They fee you to death. They make millions without providing you with one ounce of return based on the fact that they charge anywhere from 9% to 28% (If you are late on a payment) on your credit cards and loans.
What person in their right mind doesn't realize that investing in real estate is a hell of lot better than giving it to your banker who makes money on your money only for themselves.
it's sad. they could have bought a house worth 10M, and give the 30M to the hungry and sick. or help save stray dogs and cats? 'cos there are a loooooot suffering.
@machoburgers in all defense of angelina, she is on the top of the list of celebrity donations ... although, if i had 40 mill to blow on a vacation home, i would most likely think twice and probably do even more and buy a 1 mill vacation home instead... so i totally agree with ya!
@machoburgers stray dogs and cats??? really??? who are you? maybe start with STRAY CHILDREN FIRST! if you were blind, then you wouldn't give a fuck about lovable stray puppies you slut
Considering we now know this story is a BIG FAT LIE!!!! Angie told so in an interview...take this damn bullshit tabloid LIE off of YouTube...Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why people keep talking bout angelina.its just that simple they want the house..thats her money anyway she could spent it if she wanted too..shes rich now..
I think it is disgusting, and I wonder how people who flaunt their money like this sleep at night knowing that there are 2 billion people in the world that live in extreme poverty. An evolved human being would channel some of the obscene amounts of excess money towards eliminating this disparity.
If i was rich personally, i want to get Victorian castle gothic style house with gargoyles on it :D and maybe get a car, motorcycle or moped and a landscape that looks like wonderland! LOL What i love about Italy is that they have PIZZA!
How does Angelina Jolie have the nerve to ask the world to donate money to the Flood relief efforts in Pakistan and then buys this house (and publicises it)?
@flypaperforfreaks Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated millions of dollars to charity programs such as Doctors without Borders and Global Action for children to name a few. They have done their part, what exactly have you donated?!
@Castropher not that I need to justify my opinion to YOU, but plenty. I've volunteered my time working with orphans in Africa and India (been doing it for 15 years and not because it's the 'cool' thing to do but because it's the right thing to do). I also volunteer with and donate money to not-for-profit organizations (specifically homeless shelters and human rights agencies).
I honestly don't care for that house. It reminds me of an asylum. If I had money like that I'd BUILD the most customized and up to date huge house in a perfect location.
1. Brad and Angelina, are world famous. If they sell, they can sell for higher just because of their name.
2. Real Estate. Land will always appreciate in value. This is a much better way to make/save money than putting money in the bank. It's a good business decision.
They adopt impoverished children, give them a better life, They donate their resources and time to charity work worldwide, They worked hard to get to where they are at, let them enjoy their rewards if they earned them honestly.
@nowaynohow26 I'm not too sure that "being a movie star" is earning the money honestly. They provide a benefit to society through entertainment, but I don't think it's worth THAT much. Same with sports figures. In the capitalist system, it makes perfect sense, but logically, I don't know.
Man, if I had a home with fifteen bedrooms... I would fill them with books and then have friends, old acquaintences, high school classmates, family... I'd have them all over and just have ourselves a ball.
...maybe even an actual ball... or even rent rooms out to my favorite writers and celebrities.
if you can afford an extra home for $40mil you have got your money working for you, or you aren't paying your taxes lol. hopefully with all of the kids they have, they are watching their money and not leaving it totally up to advisers( who could take them for a ride).
If I had a house with that many bedrooms, I would invite crazy people to come stay with me, and let the house fall into a state of decay. It would be like living in a fancy insane asylum. I'd probably lock my door at night, though.
How BORING of a person do you have to be to have 40mil in your hand, and you can't think of anything better to do than buy a VACATION home that you'll only use max 4 months out of the year and you'll probably only use 30% of it's rooms? I consider myself a rather boring person, as I don't really have hobbies other than socializing and learning in general, but 40mil? Hell yeah I'm taking a trip around the world for the rest of my life, getting to know different languages and cultures.
@genie0390 - well, now we see what you're problem is. Cenk isn't socialist; he's progressive. And besides, there's nothing wrong with socialism - all it does is maintain a capitalist economy whilst using social programs. It's just ideas.

your Kool Aid soaked little brain translates that as Bush's fault?
Ah, that's ridiculous - but think of the awesome parties you could hold there! You could invite everybody you know, and everybody they know. My girlfriend & I are buying a house, it's old and run down and a little bigger than we absolutely need. But it's an authentic Prairie School design; we sit around and daydream about what we're going to do to make it into a showpiece. Kudos to Brad & Angie on their new palace!
Cars rarely gain value while house almost double in value in 2 years time so houses are good investment while cars will cost you more money to maintain
I can understand buying real estate from a business point of view. Maybe that's what they're doing, but I personally could not live in a house like that. It's just way to big. Maybe if I had a huge family which Brad and Angelina do have then maybe I would do it, but how many square feet is this place? I know 50 Cent bought a HUGE mansion in Connecticut, it even had nightclubs in it and he said he couldn't stay there anymore because it just wasn't homey. And that's exactly the problem.
What JR doesn't realize is the houses are purchased as investment properties and sometimes provide tax benefits. Plus rich and famous people share their houses and allow friends to vacation there.
Its pretty sad all the places you'd like to live are in the USA. Frankly it would be the last place I would choose to holiday. Italy on the other hand is beautiful :D
People need to understand that buying a home is AN INVESTMENT. It is certainly possible for real estate to earn a greater return than putting the money into a bank account or stocks. Buying cars is totally different, as cars generally DEPRECIATE in value.
@bluechipnl - I'm gonna google depreciation on houses. Because I see all this ego from house owners that they want to get 20k for profit on a aging house. Sounds fishy.
@bluechipnl Not true, some old cars values goes up over time, and cars values dont depreciate that heavily if you don't drive them. And you have to maintain these massive houses for their value to go up, which is much harder than maintaining cars.
actually Cenk, you are wrong about the cars and the houses. This is no different to putting the money in a back account except you get a much better interest rate and something cool to drive and somewhere cool to live.
PS Bill Gates has given most of his money to the Gates Foundation which is primarily a benevolant fund for humanitarian work in Africa.
Let's keep it real though, they earned the money working a few months out of the year and getting paid obscene amounts of cash for it. It's not like they worked in the slums of Calcutta for 30 years to get the scratch.
Of course it's their right to do what they want to with the cash, but it's hard to take them seriously when they pontificate about donating money to various charities.
I can honestly say that if I were rich, I would still live a relatively modest life. 40 mil is enough to feed, clothe, and educate a large amount of people. I prefer my money to go there. God would be pleased
For me even 2 houses are alot :D if i were a millionare i would have one luxury , huge and incredible house :D but for cars i would have like 3 or 4 and in different types 1: SUV 2: Sportscar 3: some old car 4: tuned up BMW or something like that :D:D
Wow. I have never cared about anything like this at all. Brad&Angie, if you care about the things you go on about, don't be fucking putting many millions of your money toward THIS. It's pathetic.
And you can spend your money as you like - I'll still think you're scum for it.
I would love a huge house because you can chage all the bedrooms into stuff you like, you can have a theater room a videogame room, an actual beedroom, a computer room, and a game room, stuff like that
@Xerxes4242 no, i'm serious. see, if u had all that money you'd probably waste it on shit as well, and soon u will be the type of person who cannot live without all the luxury and ur life will become meaningless.
@Xerxes4242 i was expecting this question. i would start off with a nice house, a nice car, than i would get anything my family needs. i would get all my family and bring them so we all live in the same city, San Diego. i would like to travel to my hometown in Herat, Afghanistan and help out there, and some of my more distance family. travel, use it on education and my familys education...and the list just goes on and on. i would use it selflessly.
@elmirasahar oh im just like you I totally don't have the taste for those things and I wouldnt buy a mansion I just wouldn't feel comfortable. I would buy a reasonable house
i wouldnt buy that ugly ass house. 1, its too big. 2, theres no beach in sight. if i had 40m dollars to spend on a house, it would be like something from the future.
@ooMONKEYoo that's what they are.I can't be jealous cos those homes just look "meh". you'll find better ones in Santa Clara.I get it that they don't want to give their money to the taxman so they gotta find a way to squander some of it.
True they bought it with their own(I hope)money, but what's the point of spending 40 milion $ on a house?
If the house was orbiting the EARTH,than yes I guess 40mil would be necesseary.
Anyway there are much more expensive houses than this.
If some1 gave me 40 mil.$ and at a gunpoint forced me to spent them on a house,I would buy something modern and extremely futuristic, with some traditional Japanese touches and a river going through my main bedroom.
My stance on Jayar's point is, if you can afford a $40 MILLION dollar home in Italy, I think you can spare a little bit of money to higher a crew to help keep it in shape when you aren't there. My jaw dropped and I had to pause the video just to admire that house. Absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't mind a sneak peak inside.
They are spending their money, and the money goes around... creates jobs, helps people, and they have earned these millions with their excellent work and draw to the theaters for their art.
@cba1067950 - Hell yeah. I know Brad and Angelina are charitable with their money (though there are more charitable famous people) but really. That $40 mil could have gone to better causes. If they bought an orphanage or school with that kind of money and then bought themselves a $20 million house (just using an example) I wouldn't complain as much.
Angelina recently said she's worried about the people in North Korea. Okay bitch, then how bout u buy a $1mil house and donate $39mil in food/aid to the starving folks in North Korea. Bunch of fucking Hollywood hypocrites trying to look like humanitarians by making these statements and donating their little $10K a year, then going off and splurging on $40mil homes in countries they don't even live/work in.
Thank you JAYAR for being reasonable. Cenk is really starting to fucking annoy me with this shit. The fuck am I gonna do with some $40mil castle in some country I don't even live/work in. Angelina recently said she's worried about the folks in North Korea..okay lady, how bout you buy a $1 mil home and donate $39mil in food/goods for the starving people there.
Cenk, of what value to the betterment of man does this story play? The stewardship of our lives to one another is betrayed every time any wasteful expenditure comes into play. Hey, look at America's deficit! it's founded on that same principle of insatiable greed at the expense of others. That's the American way? Wake up! The corrupt distribution of wealth is setting up man to extinction! Fuck the kings, the popes, the Imams, the televangelists. We're all being played the fool by Satan. Wake up!
Now they can tell people they live in a $40 million dollar home in Italy. That's all it's for, the PR value. Who needs a house like that? Waste of resources and money. I'd be embarrassed to have that.
@cba1067950 I agree with you completely, except that 40 million dollars will buy you FAR more than a 15 bedroom orphanage... For that kind of dough you could buy each of those kids their own mansion.. Its ridiculous the kind of money people spend on things such as homes. Now a yacht, thats something I could deffinately spend 40mil on... Sail around the world
Vacation houses are a waste! Awesome cars are worth it, and it would cost me more than a few million to own a Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Aston Martin, etc. At least rent the house if you are not there!
I'm with Jayar, I'd much rather have one glorious home and a huge car collection than several homes with only a few vehicles, but that's all a matter of personal preference. I don't like to travel too much, and I imagine that would only get worse as I get older, but I could never get sick of my own showroom of cars. But it really doesn't matter, as they're all just toys anyways.
I like Jayar's practical take on this. I'd love to have hundreds of millions of dollars, but I wouldn't have ten houses. What do I need them for? I would just have one nice home, probably worth a few million dollars, not far from where I'm living now. Same thing for the cars. I would only have one really nice car. It wouldn't even have to be an exotic car, just a nice brand new BMW from the local dealership. I'd also donate a lot of money to charitable causes.
Sure it's ok for em to buy a 40 mill home if they got the money, but shouldn't they be spending the money in the US economy instead of dumping that 40 mill in Italy?
@scoozzilou21214 Oh come on lol! I am going to Greece in September, who cares what his opinion is?? That won't stop millions from visiting that wonderful country!
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free. A lot of people can't handle the British accent in hip hop, but the beats are right, and it is spoken like a real story with real ups and downs, and every song builds with facts from the previous one. The ending also has a great monologue that isn't too preachy, just down to earth.
If I ever got insanely rich I'd build myself a castle. I've always just loved medieval architecture and would love it. I'd have a moat and everything.
the fuck are these tools babbling about...is the dude drunk, slurring? and the chick is just making bird noises

I'm amazed there was absolutely no comments on how those two have seen how horrifyingly desperate it is out there and then to do this.
Their eyes looked on those children, they knew the situation out there, and said: "Eh... 40 million dollar VACATION home."
We're obviously grateful for all that they've done, but the emotional disconnect is unreal.
And Cenk is a psychopath.

says it's OK for actors to make big bucks, but brokers and such with heavy duty education getting bonus money is evil?

@bluechipnl - I'm gonna google depreciation on houses. Because I see all this ego from house owners that they want to get 20k for profit on a aging house. Sounds fishy.
Chiszle 1 year ago

@elmirasahar Nah.. 40mil, 10mil would be in investments... rest for all the travelling and good food and good music I need.

@elmirasahar So what would you do with the money then? I probably wouldn't spend that on a house either, but I'd find a way to spend it well:)
Xerxes4242 1 year ago
@Xerxes4242 i was expecting this question. i would start off with a nice house, a nice car, than i would get anything my family needs. i would get all my family and bring them so we all live in the same city, San Diego. i would like to travel to my hometown in Herat, Afghanistan and help out there, and some of my more distance family. travel, use it on education and my familys education...and the list just goes on and on. i would use it selflessly.

SupremeGameslord 1 year ago
My stance on Jayar's point is, if you can afford a $40 MILLION dollar home in Italy, I think you can spare a little bit of money to higher a crew to help keep it in shape when you aren't there. My jaw dropped and I had to pause the video just to admire that house. Absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't mind a sneak peak inside.

Cocheese45 1 year ago 3
Thank you JAYAR for being reasonable. Cenk is really starting to fucking annoy me with this shit. The fuck am I gonna do with some $40mil castle in some country I don't even live/work in. Cocheese45 1 year ago

I don't even know what I'd put in the 15 bedrooms.
Plus you'd have to buy 15 beds for 15 rooms. if you wanted to sleep in each room you'd have to buy a bed and decorations for each room.
zaggers77 1 year ago
I like Jayar's practical take on this. I'd love to have hundreds of millions of dollars, but I wouldn't have ten houses. What do I need them for? I would just have one nice home, probably worth a few million dollars, not far from where I'm living now. Same thing for the cars. I would only have one really nice car. It wouldn't even have to be an exotic car, just a nice brand new BMW from the local dealership. I'd also donate a lot of money to charitable causes.
