  • powder is effective in some areas,

personally I would have used a wet chemical exthinguisher on oil, as it seals the area, and prevents the oil from reigniting.

Co2 is best used on eletrical fires and surfice fires.

  • @plt86 Wet Chemical is for cooking oil, not the petroleum oil in this tray, for which powder is best for rapid knock down, followed by foam for cooling and to prevent reignition

  • I've always regarded Dry Powder as crap. It's not fun to use like CO2 nor is it any good really like foam

  • Cool!

  • Dry chemical extinguishers are effective, only in limited applications AND when used properly. The person operating the extinguisher barely applied the agent, instead of discharging the entire contents in a sweeping motion. The instructions are printed on each extinguisher. Lol. But yes, foam is much more effective.

  • it is enifextive, but in the video just now, i seams to provide a temporary means of escape, to die it down alot

  • Good series of videos, thanks for posting.

In my experience, foam is nearly always a better option on a fuel fire, especially so in a hot metal container as here. however, powder's excellent in the case of a "running fuel" fire, or one where liquid is falling from a high level to a low one, where movement destroys the afff seal.
