  • Just like Canal street. But it hasnt ever gotten this bad. Luckly they are doing construction adn they added a drainage system

  • and now this road is getting redone with storm drains but it is ONE LANE CONSTRUCTION.... sucks bad

  • ha typical canal street, this douche with the camera is clearly not from around hear,

  • the most danger carlsbad ever got :p

  • Carlsbad still looks as shitty as ever LoL

  • who wants to go tubing?

  • i live ther and that is real fun trust me at home we always either swim in the alley or have splash fights

  • ive lived here all my life youll be fine

  • this isnt a lot of rain... this is the outcome of shitty drainage and shitty mayors like mr. forrest

  • It's like this every time it rains here in Carlsbad.

  • Ha! This is the norm in Houston, TX. This really isn't high water. No need to be scared, unless there is a Bayou, Lake, or Ocean you can be swept into.

  • yeah thats why they call it canal street

  • ya i was there, not the worst flood

  • haha Canal street literally becomes a canal when it rains in Carlsbad. I've lived in Carlsbad my entire life.

  • @ranchodressing23LOL i was thinking the same thing when watching this!!!

  • were the fuck was i when this shit happened it never rains in c-bad

  • i love how when it rains in carlsbad, canal street becomes a canal

  • haha wow, i live in Carlsbad, And this was one day before my Birthday. It rained hella hard on my party.

  • As it's been stated above..their drainage system is practically non-existent, and that's being generous with the practically in there.

Anytime there's a good amount of rain, the roads get like that. Can only recall one time there was a 'flooding', that was a few years back when the 'beach' overflowed with so much rain.

  • I lived in Carlsbad for about a year and a half from the years of 97, and 99. I have to say that even though I come from the city, it had to be one of the coolest, most laid-back places I have ever been to. Very relaxing. I miss the annonymity and the peace and quiet of this place alot. And the park by the "lake" beats out any park in my city by far...

  • ha yeah theres no drainage system over there. i love driving through there when theres a ton of water :D tehe especially to splash the other cars :O

  • I lived in Carlsbad for about three years and anytime it rains in Carlsbad the streets do this.....it really isnt that big of a deal or that scary.

  • Not to mention that most people in Carlsbad drive trucks. I never worried at all when this would happen. It usually happens like 2 or 3 times a year.

I live in TN now where it rains all the time and the streets are never flooded. Its a lot more relaxing in Carlsbad, but theres also no shortage of boredome there either.

  • the only thing you have to worry about is Hydroplanning but if you drive carefully it is no big deal at all.

  • That was no flash flood you idiot. That is slow moving water. The only thing it does is stall out cars. I had a business one block away for years and there never has been a flash flood on Canal Street, and lived in Carlsbad all my life. YOU just trying to over dramatize your video. Yes and why did you drive back through it again then? Why are the wakes moving both directions so slowly then if it is a flash flood?

  • you were on canal street right i lived in c-bad for two years now im in vegas

  • yeah that was canal

  • Question Andrew...If you felt like you "shouldn't be going through it" like it was said in the video, then WHY did you go thru it TWICE?!?

The first segment you are headed SOUTH, with McDonalds on your right and Wendys on your LEFT!

At 0:26 it changes and you are headed NORTH, and our ONLY Wendy's is on the RIGHT.

    hmmmmm....

  • That street ALWAYS has water, because it is running from the left to the right, into the Pecos River. Carlsbad has NO drainage system, just V shaped indentions that run down the roads to guide the water to the river.

Being from Tulsa, that schitzed me out too, the first time I drove down Canal in a heavy rain...when WE see water like that in Oklahoma, it's not good! BTW~ that water in that area isn't moving fast enuff to move anything. It was high, but you were safe.

  • It almost looks like that everytime it rains in this town! I hate Carlsbad's roads! I don't drive when it rains.. my car is too low to the ground

  • I have lived in Carlsbad for 18 years, that looks like a slightly above average rain storm. The drainage system is almost non existent

  • Nothing will stop people from getting to thier destination.
