He is truly an amazing performer. Although he has been around 4 yrs., i just started listening to him cause of The Rising. I lost someone last year, and my friend burnt me a copy. Now i want 2 c him LIVE. Sorry it took something sad to turn me on to his music. LOL Lots 2 listen 2
This song reminds me of my 40th birthday party - turn it up, turn it up, turn it up! Life begins at 40 - until then you are just practising. My gorgeous man is taking me to see Bruce in two weeks time. Aren't I the lucky one - thank you gorgeous. XXXXXXXXX
Jhill - Actually, there is a great sense of loss in this song. I hear it as a person coping with the loss of a loved one, trying to rediscover the sense of community and friendship again in the face of his loss. There's a dichotomy - he's among friends, but still struggling to feel a part of everything in the wake of his loss.
if you've even remotely listened to The Rising, you will see that all the songs offer Americans hope, strength, and love. And most are upbeat, uplifting, and very touching.
I agree on Sunny Day being a happy song. The Rising doesn't really make me feel happy compared to other songs. Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street is another happy song, Growin' Up, too.
danni federici and clarence clemons, rest in peace. Both of you did a good job.

This is why he is the "boss". A musical genius to pair "Monkey Time's "are you ready" with Mary's Place.

Roy Bittan is a great musician. His piano playing makes these songs go from really good to really great.

well, in my oppinion "waitin' on a sunny day" is a happy song as well. At least it makes me happy listening to it.
Also the rising is quite a positive song.
But I guess it's always depending on what you define as "happy" and also on your current mute.
