Why are you using 4 Skiploom if you have Rare Candy? With all the search power for Jumpluff you have you could just go with like a 4-2-3 / 4-2-4 line (keeping 2 in case the opp is using like Vileplume lock or something), and then you have 2 spaces to put in more trainers or something. I'm hardly a tcg expert but it just seems like a bit of a waste of deck space to me.

He figured you might have a catcher and decided that risking the stun spore missing was a better option than dropping a single basic and having you catcher it out, losing his chance to set something up on the bench. I don't know the retreat costs of what he tossed down offhand, though, so I could be totally wrong.
