Was under the bridge a year earlier (July 2006) to start a hike upstream. The river was lower than I'd ever seen it. You could walk a mile or more on the sandbars before you had to cross water, and it was never more than waist deep.
I remember - me and a friend stopped to take photos on our way into OK that same month (actually, a year to the date). We were eager to see the effect all the rains this year had left on the river, but I didn't expect what's in the video. Have you been through there recently?...
I'll be doing a float trip Sept. 30-Oct. 8 starting at the Hwy 81 bridge and with the Taovoyas as the take-out point (if all goes well). I'll have a vidcam with me and if possible I'll post a short clip.
