The drive in theater is likely the one in Duarte, and the kid is filmed in Venice beach boardwalk, where they are dancing in that scene. It's not like they had to fake it! Great fun, this video, we LOOOOVE it!
Man Man Man.. This is song right here is one of the earliest christian songs I can remember. This album was fire. I gotta order this. Bless God. I'll bump this right now with no shame in my game. Big ups on the post.
Leon Patillo's Live Experience Album was my first Gospel album and next to Amy Grant, and Petra, later Farrell & Farrell was my lead in to Christian music, though I listen many things, these have always had a spot in my heart and still listen to.
Absolutly fantastic message! would love to see an updated version. I posted on my facebook page. Just open your heart, to God and the message will come ALIVE!!!
Yes, memory lane. Simple message of God trying to reach us thru Jesus Christ. What a loving God. I will say great message! Thanks Leon for trying to share this awsome message.
LOL! Yeah it was snagged off TV with a VCR and probably at lowest quality. (6 hours) Who knew THEN (years ago!) what it would/could be used for today?
I saw Patillo 4/14/82 in Texas, it was the day after I was saved. Yeah, this is really hokey looking now, but in 82 it wasn't. Time cannot take away the good Leon Patillo has done...innovative, sincere and joyful - he spread the gospel in a way the world really needed it-and still does! Thanks, Leon!!
I'm so excited to see this again! We lost the video in a move a few years ago. It looks pretty "campy" now but at the time I loved seeing Christians having fun and dancing and having music that I liked. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, do i remember this! Back then, I thought he was so strange, and many of my family members thought his music was not religious at all. I still love it!!! Thanks for posting.
I have The LP & CD.

I have literally been searching for this song for years. I could barely remember it from my childhood. I'm so glad you uploaded it!

It's obviously got talent. I.E. Tim and Eric Awesome Show in which the music tips towards a bit. Such a hidden legend.

The owner of this video is censoring posts, so be careful what you say
.
3:08 is stock footage that was aired millions of times during the 80s
.
And not very good. The singer is standing on a city street while the kid is in the middle of a treed park. Inconsistent much?

This is one of the lamest things I've ever seen. But I still loved it back in the day. And I guess I still kinda like it now.

My dad has the LP. I heard that once about a year ago...and that is definitely one of the more "interesting" songs on that particular release.
