@jasons87t love your car got a rosewood t-type my self with pretty much the same mods as your car except all my turbo stuff is from garret. Now you said you lost power from the turbo headers and gained when you put the turbo manifolds back on? explain please or maybe im just misunderstanding you. thanks.
@kingstea1 For a stock engine, the headers were just a tad to big so it was lazy on the bottom end, but gained about 2 mph on the top end. When I put my stock headers back on, i got my low end torque back. The Ebay headers started to come apart after 20 passes. We tuned it from a 13.0 off the trailer to a 11.14 in a day.
@Jasons87T hey man thanks so much for the response i had forgot to mention that i have injectors, fuel pump and 93 octane chip the headers i have are custom made from this exhaust shop in chicago. the engine is all stock except for a mild cam. Now with the cam i cant notice the difference in power before or after any suggestions for the car whether it be for power or ride or reliability? again thanks for taking the time to respond and Buick for life.
Saw this car at cruisin the coast. The video doesnt do the car justice. Probably my favorite buick I've seen. I pulled next to you guys in traffic I was in the red honda accord unfortunatly.... lol and you guys were right those mustangs didnt want any! BUICKS ROCK!
sweet their one for sale an 87 buick limited light blue on blue around were i stay at but it has bolt on like turbo down pipe 42 injectors methanol but it has 207k on the bottom end new timing chain an head spring do u think this engine will take much whit those miles?? thanks!
are the N/A 3.8 the same blocks as the Turbo 3.8 Block in this one and could I hook a turbo up eventually to the N/A block like your buick or am I mistaken? im thinking of swapping a 4.3 Chevy V6 or a Buick 3.8 into a 1974 Chevy Vega but don't know? any ideas?
You need to find a Turbo Block which is called a "109" block. They are stonger and have a turbo oil drain return already in the front of the block. That is on the 86-87 year blocks. the 84-85 blocks do not have this but are just as strong. NA blocks from 80-87 are ok to use, but try to find a 109 block or a 4.1 block.
color is awful! The seats and the gear shift lever are just wrong

none of them come with stock turbos in them do they?
Jbarnswell 3 years ago
Yes they do, come with a Garrett .43mm turbo but people upgrade to a TA.49 or TE.44 as soon as possible.
Jasons87T 3 years ago
when upgrading to a bigger turbo do you need to upgrade anything else?
