  • Well, rosarium, Gregory Peck just happened to be amazing as Atticus Finch that year. If it were another year, I think Jack Lemmon could have won.

    And as far as Lee Remick, it's a very tough call. Anne Bancroft and Bette Davis were tough competition. One the whole, I think 1962 was a great year for film.

  • One of my favorite dramatic movies. Jack Lemmon more than deserved an Oscar for this role, but back then with the Civil Rights movement on it's way Gregory Peck's performance was more in tune with the times and Hollywood politics. We miss you Jack! Rest in peace!

    He was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar but lost to Gregory Peck. That was a great year for excellent movies. 1962. I thought Lee Remick should have won

    for this role. She nearly stole the spotlight from Jack!
