  • Hey I love your videos there very informative and good quality. I wanted to know since you work on the 6.0 and 6.4 which would you prefer if you were planning on bullet proofing what ever you got?

  • @irongiant101

Thanks for the great comments! If I would build a 6.0 over a 6.4, the bottom end of the 6.0 is far stronger and capable of running it hard!

  • Why was this in the shop? I would think it would be years before it needed this kind of work.

  • @LazyJack5

This engine had a lifter fail and bent a push rod. I had to remove the head to replace the lifter. These 6.4lit have not been as tough as the 6.0lit!

  • why dont you hot tank it instead? o.0

  • @edwardx2011

Hot tanking does work, but it take a while and you still need to clean the surface. This works quick and it does a great job!

  • What is that song called?

  • @MrMotorcycleLover

The music is from the Matrix movie sound track as the theme song.

  • What about oil and coolant passages? Also what is your opinion on scotch brite pads for block surface prep?

  • @savage217

I clean the oil and coolant galleys with rags and brake clean. Scotch Bright Pads on a sanding block would be good to use. Don’t use the circular scotch disc, they are too abrasive and definitely not recommended, especially with multi-layer gaskets.

  • why do you use the bar stock instead of the roloc discs? And what is the part number for the cleaner

  • @ModularMadMan Great comment and you are so right!!!

  • What caused the valve seats to wear out like that?

  • @PWRSTR0KER2008 From everything I found, The low pressure turbo failed and leaking oil into intake. The oil causing the high pressure turbo to fail. That combination caused the valve failure. I did find the front engine cover also has cavitation and will be replaced.

  • So why did you have to remove the head? Were you replacing the head gasket?

  • @grasscutter88

The cylinder head was removed for loss of compression on cylinder 1. Both the intake and exhaust valve seats were completely worn into the head causing the valves to stick, and pushrods to bend. This head was removed for inspection and all passed for reassembly.
