It IS 400 cubic inches for 65. In 1964, when it first came out, it stood for 4-spd, 4 barrel and dual exhaust. In 65, the automatic became available and so the designation changed as well. I owned a 2-dr sedan just like this one with the exception that it was black and had a 4 spd. muncie. Bench seats and all. 4:56 gears in the back. Great car--fast too!
