You can see that at one time these cars were rolling pieces of ART. I like the new cars, and they are much more fuel efficient and safe. However, new cars don't have anywhere near the style of these old cars had.
None of these old cars should ever be crushed. These days anything can be restored with the right amount of time and patience. If not, there is always someone looking for parts. It's just a total waste to lose such beautifully sculpted art like that forever.
the one at 2:04 isnt that bad, i would love to see it restored, but not turned into a hot rod that car should look almost the same when it was brand new
Its one off those kind of places people used to take their old beloved cars to die after many years of use usually in a really nice area or perhaps an overhang with an amazing view.
Cool pics!! I hate to see all that old iron sitting and going to waste! Around here we try and talk people out of that stuff and try to drag the stuff home!
there is a guy in the US> dont know his name who trys to save these abandoned vehicles.. sadly to say those on private property, he hears alot of "well i plan on restoring it SOME DAY with both parties knowing full well the owner has no intention of doing anything with it except letting the car continue to rust in the woods.
Gas mileage under 10 miles per gallon, and home to dozens of rats and rotting leaves. Still, clean them out and give them away to some people who will clean them up, limit one per person.
I've been to places like this. Most of these cars would be unrestorable, at least at a reasonable cost. It sucks, but alot of sheetmetal is so rusted and paper thin. Where fenders and doors bolt on the connection point is rotten. Frames are toast, and have about the same stability of toast. Most cars like this are only good for stainless parts.
some look restorable but others are for sight seeing but they are nice, shame but its nice to find an old car or cars rusting in some place out in the middle of nowhere.
Where ever you found all these, those cars, would be HEAVEN for me. :D I don't care if the thing is running or not, to buy one like that, or find one like that, is practically my dream. XD :D
Develper,s are the single most selfish, not liked, greedy, raping, rapists of Historical Homes & sites and just as bad Vintage cars over the last 40 years or so,ruthless they are for the lining of their deep pockets, what a disgrace and a horrible legacy they have left behind.
It appears these days if you want a piece of second hand rusty steel you are either NUTS or the item is worth a FORTUNE ??nothing has changed except the destruction of our solid past onto this Plastic fucked up world.fuk!!
Great pics but sad, all the collections like that here in Central NY went a few summers ago when scrap was up over $400 a ton, others have been cleaned out as city people buy land next door cheap and then force a cleanup so they can maximize their profits subdividing land.
there are still a lot of selfish people who would rather let these cars die than give them to someone who will put all their heart and sweat in to them...
@obeeshotrod hell yea i live in maryland there some good cars rust free my friend has 13 1930-1970 cars on his property he had 4 1954 studbaker pickups
damn this brought me into the old times...have you noticed all the bullet holes in the cars? xD ...imagine how much stories can those cars tell..who knows how many gangsters have used them to rob banks and stuff in like the 1920-1930's ...this is the atmousphere that i love the most...old gangster stories, suits hats and cars...my favourite :)
I need old ford mustang 1967 for restoration. But the problem is, that i am from europe (Slovenia). Can enione tell me how to get old car from american junkyards to evrope.(the cheapest way)
You would need to have someone bring the car to a shipping port on the East Coast which would run up to $1500.00 US depending on where the car is located in the states. Then it would be put in a container and taken by ship to a nearby port. I have shipped a car to France before and Bulgaria. It was about $3000.00 altogether not including the price of the car.
I believe some of these fall under the catagory of ABANDONED VEHICLES, I would love to get some of these vehicles out of there and get them adopted into good homes. We should all band together and start an organization to stop auto abuse like this
i bet i could restore a few of the but the one i couldnt i would clean up the part as best as i could a hang them up as a reminder of what a good car was
My buddy obee made this video he has made classic cars his life he had countless old cars till recently when they were stolen from his storage place he has been un able to do any work he has been in & out of the hospital cars that he lost were a model T, Fraiser, 50 Chevy, 41 plymouth and many more bad luck lately for him i feel very bad he is only 47 yrs old now and his health is so bad he wants only to be able to restore his own cars but its very hard for him anymore check out his other videos
most, if not all of the pictures are very old, some look like they were taken in the 1970's or 1980's but some within the last few years, latest one I saw was one dated 2001. these cars could have been crushed, bought and restored, or who knows what. maybe even stolen and fixed up, as that happens with old "abandoned" cars all the time. Or, they can just be sitting there, still.
My screen name should tell you that I love these cars. However, that one at 2:06 just cannot be helped. It looks like it was used in a bank robbery, shot at several times by the cops and then abandoned or something. And then, picked for parts. Just let it rest in piece, that is it's grave. R.I.P.
You can see that at one time these cars were rolling pieces of ART. I like the new cars, and they are much more fuel efficient and safe. However, new cars don't have anywhere near the style of these old cars had.
