  • You poor scumbags cant catch a break anywhere can you? lmao already way more downs then ups on your attempt spin. Leave office leave now do not pass go. Hillary's already admitted you've lost the media war. So your only making yourself look dumber. Barrack Osama has never done anything for the US and never will . America is dumber for having ever heard any of his crap.

  • It's not what the President is saying, it's what is actually in the Bill and ALL of the UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES! That's not scare tactics, just plain reality. The fact is Doctors are quitting practice at an all time high. Keeping that in mind, how can those people keep their doctors when they are all quitting practice because of this law? Again, UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES, that's the main issue. Just facts, not speak

  • awsome fucking propaganda right here

watch in the first 1 min you see her take off her glasses and the camera zooms in

that is a classic move to create a sence of security like your mom/dad talking to you.

    awsome job guys awsome.

  • The People Need The Same, Health Care, As The People Thay Elect.......

  • Here is how you resolve the health care problem. 225 Million people x $40.00 a month = $9,000,000,000/month. Case Closed.

  • Healthcare should have been reformed when civil rights reform was being done WAY back in the 60's. Now GREED is the standard accepted attitude of Americans and your conglomerated industries RULE you. Too late. Healthcare for those that can afford it and zip for others.

  • politicians lie lady

  • hm hmm voll neu hier wer mag oder will mit mir chattn der meldet sich ja ;)

  • Yeah but if you dont have HC insurance in the USA, a waiting line means nothing to you, and you still go without care. Single-payer HC Insurance in Canada is in public hands, therefore you can redress issues to your elected officials etc..., and the Canadian ssytem is not perfect, but we have input into it

  • I don't think people understand the waiting lines. If a person has an injury and needs immediate care he/she will get it. If a person is in need of an MRI or CT scan then that is where the waiting lines come into play.

Number of devices per 1,000,000 people

United States: MRI- 27 CT- 34

    Canada: MRI- 7 CT- 12

    France: MRI- 5 CT- 10

United Kingdom: MRI- 7 CT- 8

  • Linda, let me teach you something.

you can't say something was "taken out of context" then use a DIFFERENT video from 6 years later to try and make your point.

That would be like saying guns kill then punching a man to death to prove a point.

    It makes no sense.

You fools got your asses kicked earlier this month and in 2012, you assholes wil lbe out of the White House, I can guarentee you that.

  • Why are there more thumbs down than up here? This is a perfectly good informative video.

  • @foxx312 That is because the video is propaganda providing false information in order to trivialize the dangers of universal health care coverage.

The American people have already been proposed two socialist health care systems. The first was by Harry S. Truman in 1946 and the second was by Bill Clinton in 1993. Both of these proposals were vehemently refused by the American people.

I really wish Democrats would stop trying to take over the health care industry and STOP GOVERNMENT SPENDING.

  • @EmperorProzen You mix socialism with communism, but not only that but socialism playing under the democratic rules, whic means, gov can change, like in developped countries norway, sweden, germany, france.. toni blair is considered according to those values as liberal socialist. liberal, because he let the market regulate itseves (doesn't always work / banks) and try to share wealth to give a sense of all that. I don' see how providing universal health care coverage, could do bad to people

  • @forfreedom5 Capitalism>socialism>communism. What separates them are the sizes of private vs. public sector or the amount of power government has. In France, which is VERY socialist, so if unions strike they damage the whole country's GDP because the economic industries are not insulated from each other.

If America switched to universal coverage then the government would also put fixed salaries for doctors. The reason people want to become doctors is to make money. It isn't fair to them either.

  • @EmperorProzen 1/ France is not socialist so far, Sarkozy (french president) is part of the french republican party, as was previous french president Chirac. But i do agree with it is very different from US said republican party, they didn't promote a war for bullshit. 2/ as a citizen i don't much care if doctors make money or not, but i do care of an efficient healthcare system. now on a side note, good doctors don't need money but challenges, success means they'll always have money they wan

  • @EmperorProzen Uhh... what the hell are you talking about. WHAT false information?

  • @foxx312 I am referring to ALL of the points that woman is making. Mainly about "how government expansion into the health care industry won't hurt private insurance". Obama himself was talking about eliminating private insurance and replacing them with universal health care.

There is a man named Milton Friedman who understands economics, check him out. :)

  • @EmperorProzen Uhh... WHEN THE HELL DID SHE SAY THAT QUOTE, OR ANYTHING LIKE IT?!?

  • @foxx312 At 0:16 you can read the text.

Understanding economics is important when dealing with politics.

Ever since progressives and socialists contaminated this country with their ideals the United States has drifted further away from capitalism. The left-wing policies implemented by these presidents: Woodrow Wilson (Prohibition), Herbert Hoover (practice of Keynesian economics), FDR (Social Security), as well as LBJ (Medicare and Medicaid) have all come back to haunt this country.

  • @EmperorProzen She basically didn't make that quote at all. She said that new legislation wouldn't eliminate it, not that it wouldn't affect it at all. The whole point of a public health care plan is so that it affects private health care companies. By the way, John Maynard Keynes. I love that guy.

  • @foxx312 Government involvement is what started the problems in the health care industry so why have more of it.

"The Great Depression, like most other periods of severe unemployment, was produced by government mismanagement rather than by any inherent instability of the private economy."

    Milton Friedman

"If you pay people not to work and tax them when they do, don't be surprised if you get unemployment."

The fact that you would admire someone like Keynes shows me that you do not know economics.

  • Yeah there coming here in thousands!!!

  • "dislike" votes being logged and reported to the FBI.

  • honestly, who the hell is this woman and why should I believe her?

  • Soviet Union bullshit going on here.

  • Dr. Donald Berwick, the man who will run your health care: "I cannot believe that the individual health care consumer can enforce through choice the proper configurations of a system as massive and complex as health care. That is for leaders to do. ... About 8% of GDP is plenty for 'best known' care. ... A progressive policy regime will control and rationalize financing—control supply."

  • Great information,

It is easy to find a lot of health insurance companies online.

What is not easy is to find genuine health insurance company.

They are reputable companies that offer many insurances and all of them are with free quotes.

    Check out there website.

  • Thanks Linda, for lying to us. The administration just announced that 51% of workers would need to change their health care plans.

    Thanks for nothing...

  • And this week even the Associated Press reports that if you like your plan, you may have to get it changed. Hello Linda Douglas. You are a pathetic liar.

  • you lie with a smile on your face!

  • what a fuckin liar

  • Well the "truth" was a huge lie you bastards. We hate you.

  • *an important tool, NOT A...and I know 2 languages. linda's a real catch ;)

  • @merveilleuxcameron

Wow a human made a mistake. Better get back to work detective, I hear you're in charge of the BP investigation.

  • @merveilleuxcameron I believe that 'captain kick-ass' was referring to HIMSELF.... (1:37) as being the "impOtent TOOL" ; that would 'discipline' those dastardly, profit oriented insurance companies.

  • @Goodnooz4U hahaha word.

  • It is said that "...science evolves from funeral to funeral."

The same may be said of Health Care Insurance Reform. As the laissez-faire mega-rich supporters of the status quo American "Health Care" System lose their political influence by dying off one by one, the quality of our health care industry can't help but improve for all. Greed and stodgy traditionalist stupidity is being replaced by cogent decisions backed up by effective actions made by the people FOR the people. Viva Obama

  • Thank you, Mr. President, for fighting to the end to keep one of your campaign the promises!!!

Thank you also, Linda, for keeping these lies in check!

It never seizes to amaze me that the folks who are calling Obama a liar are the same ones spreading all these lies like an epidemic. How about doing something constructive for the country you claim to love? Oh wait. Don't tell me. You are doing that by deceiving people in order to keep the status quo, right? GET A REAL JOB!!!

  • O'Bama's a LIAR and a FRAUD!His REAL name is Barry Sotoro,NEVER taught Constitutional law, was not a faculty member @ The U of C,DID NOT attend Columbia, and Michele O'Bama, at a gay/lesbian/trans-sexual convention, stated O'Bama's homeland is KENYA! These are reasons the FRAUD has SEALED his records! HEAR ME YouTubers! O'Bama is NOT your LEGAL pres., and is issuing ILLEGAL orders of war to U.S.Troops!The O'BamaCons are trying to stop the trial on schedule for May 14th, 2010 in New York City !

  • fuck you damn ass hole, thats bull because most americans hate the damn health care reform, and the gov. is ignoring it, so go fuck your self with the damn "disinformation", because thats bull shit, look at all the damn coments

  • It'll be interesting to see how many republicans will use the benefits of this bill, even when they have done everything they can to stop it...

I guess we'll see some more of that republican hypocrisy in the near future...

    Great video!

  • cough cough nazi...cough

  • @Goldsteinism MMhaaa mhaaaa, say in sheeple doublespeak maybee they'll get it then..

  • He LIED about bringing our troops home. Instead, he sent more. He LIED about transparency and allowing the public to see the process in it's entirety on C-SPAN. Instead, it was all done behind closed doors. He LIED about giving the people 5 days to review the legislation before the vote. Instead, it was concealed. I assure everyone with intelligence to understand, with this man's history, he has also surely LIED about health reform's benefits. LIES ALL!

  • this is bullshit.

  • great job on passing this bill, mr. president and the rest of the dems in the house/senate!

  • I hope the thing were all children need a chip was also disinfo, any comment on that ?

  • It scary how many of you are freaking morons...

  • On 3/15 the CBO announced that 9 million people will lose their health insurance coverage by 2019--so much for hope and change.

  • @ersatx210 What plan is paid for? I hope you don't mean Medicare and Medicaid because they have consumed many more trillions than the overseas wars.

Republicans don't want a socialist health care system. Britain and Germany are currently working towards privatizing theirs.

The United States is one of the only countries moving towards the left almost all of the rest are heading to the right.

High taxes, which is the backbone of socialism, is what prompted this country to secede from Britain.

  • @EmperorProzen I get that you appose the stimulus(all of them) and i do too but if all those big company's would have gone under that we have been a lot more people laid off so it wouldve made the recession worse. What do you think obama should have done as soon as he got into office to deal with the recession?

  • Yes to health care for all. No to run by the Government!! Government treats people like animals. Check the D M V!!

  • @yesilike101 can't have helth care for all with out the damn goverment

  • Who I am is not important, but I can tell you where to search for more death panel cases. Look at the hospice program. Follow the trails of how people got on the lists. The journey they took. The stress and frustration of dealing with bureaucracy. The delay of services month after months. IF you have cancer the last thing you want to hear is Im sorry; Ill call you when I get to your case, in 6 months? Time vs Cancer, cancer wins. Bureaucracy = No accountability! Your health. Your choice!

  • Pres. Obama, where is clunker for college tuition? Another empty speech?

  • Does it bother any Conservatives that "Government Run Healthcare" is a lie created by Frank Luntz ..

...before healthcare legislation had even been written?

The public option was removed by Conservatives, yet they still call the bill government run?

I know that is too much logic for many of you....try and reason on that and see if you support killing legislation with lies before the legislation is even written.

    Anyone? Anyone?

  • hey here's an idea! Let's create a giant hole and just toss all of our money in it. It's achieving the same purpose as the bill and its more fun to do! :) Why don't we just go ahead download our brains to a government database because its too expensive to keep us all alive in reality. The utopia that they speak of doesn't exist. Everyone will quit their jobs and drain the system until their is nothing left. We should answer to higher values and authority. Don't be fooled

  • I don't know why people keep saying Obama is trying to do all of these bad things.

I don't think he has any idea what he is doing.

  • I don't know why everybody thinks President Obama is try to do all of these bad things.

I don't think he has any idea what he is doing.

  • he calls himself the president, and he might be. Good thing he isn't England's prime minister. He had bad grammar 1:36 "I think is a important" so shameful.

  • The government simply needs to stop interfering with the market, and stop trying to "prop up" the economy. Let people cross state lines to buy healthcare insurance! Why not? Make healthcare insurance truly competitive, not gov't sponsored. Then the costs will drop, and dramatically so. This woman and the rest of these overpaid bureaucrats know this, but they only feel secure when they have a vicious stranglehold on whatever it is they are assigned to do.

  • @BeadStallcup Why Selling Health Insurance Across State Lines is Not the Answer: What insurance companies will do is set up shop in states where there is NO consumer protection/regulation. :) They will get away with murder.... business as usual.... more of the same.

  • Ok, I'm listening, what do you suggest?

  • @BeadStallcup - the govt has been manipulating markets since 1780. Please stop posting naive comments. Please recognize 2 facts.

Every one of our industrial peer covers basic health needs for ALL their population.

Every one of our industrial peers pays less for health care per person than the USA.

and: We have 46+ million Americans without care, AND have over 700,000 medical cost bankruptcies EVERY YEAR.

  • Naive? Ok, let's back up a few years and start with this fact. In 1945 a hospital room cost about $15.00/day. In 1975 a hospital room cost about $155.00/day. Today a hospital room costs more that $2500.00/day! Explain that? In 1963, my dad bought a house on a 1/2 area tract for $23,500.00. In 2003, the year he died, that house was valued at $190,000.00. That's over 8 times its original cost. Yet the house was 40 years older, and the amount of land around it is still 1/2 acre. Explain that?

  • Where does your information come from? Rather obvious -- from watching your TV. Idea for you. Turn off the TV and get to a good library. While there, actually do some real research on these issues, before coming in here and parrotting back some white-washed propaganda you heard on your bigscreen TV. You pin-heads and your bigscreen DopeTubes. Media companies are there to help sell something the gov't wants to sell us. If they refuse or gripe, the FCC has been known to revoke their license.

  • @forfreedom5 Bush got into office eight months before 9/11. It was Clinton's policy to cut military spending which is why Bush had to spend so much to get it ready to go overseas.

Also, the GOP supports oil because it is practical. Too many people oppose nuclear power, wind energy isn't sustainable enough to power vehicles, solar power has not yet been developed enough, and electricity needs to improve because of the power grid.

P.S. I am not a Republican; they are just the lesser of two evils.

  • @EmperorProzen i don't much care about republicans or democrats.. i am just happy there is still 2 parties to choose from. Other than that Bush should be on court, telling us the reasons US soldiers lost their life in iraq.. was about 9/11, then nuclear weapons.. all bullshit.. i hate bush 43 for this, making the wealthiest nation on earth looking the stupidest too :(

  • @forfreedom5 The purpose for being in Iraq was because Saddam was making threats of WMDs. Remember what happened with Hitler and his threats of mobilizing Germany? I am not saying that it would get anywhere near that bad. However, the world realized after that experience (WWII) threats must be taken seriously.

Now it is about turning Iraq into a stable government as well as trying to get rid of terrorism, not just in the U.S. but in the places plagued by it the most (Middle Eastern countries).

  • @EmperorProzen I don't much care about republicans or democrats, happy there is still 2 parties to choose from. Other then that i definitly hate Bush 43, leading a war for bullshit.. 9/11, no, WMD, no.. what sense do make all this.. he should be on court since he left the white house. Not only he didn't prevent 9/11, but he made the wealthiest nation on earth, looking the more stupide too. sorry all my sentiment about that disgusting person.

  • @forfreedom5 I agree COMPLETELY with you on taxes and freedom., but there is a little more to it with Bush. He should not have tried to appease the Democrats with spending and the prescription drug entitlement. He was trying to unify the country as one.

He was only in office 8 months before 9/11 and no one realized seriousness of terrorism until it was too late. When we did learn from it and Saddam talked about WMDs that is why we invaded Iraq.

Bush was not a bad economist but not a bad person.

  • @EmperorProzen yes he was on office since 8 months.. but French secret services produced nine reports between September 2000 and August 2001, look for bojinka on the web, air france flight 8969, look at clinton's book he warned bush of AQ, all the 'secret' world knew something could happen anytime, "except bush". You want the real truth, to know something was going on, was as easy as to walk in the street, and listen to conversations in arab. Do you mean US secret services couldn't do that !

  • @forfreedom5 What I don''t understand is how they all got on board with box cutters. I remember when I was little and used to go on airplanes every year or two. I had a toy gun (wasn't shaped like any real gun) buried way way deep at the bottom of my bag thoroughly packed full of toys and somehow they saw it. When they did they made a big deal out of it.

I take back what I said about no one realizing terrorism was a problem. I meant most people, including Bush, didn't realize how bad it was.

  • @EmperorProzen most reasonable fiscal conservatives support cuts to our bloated military and DoD budget.

  • @MrDevilBunny Exactly! Though pretty much anywhere the federal government is spending money you will find waste. It is almost a law of economics because government is inefficient.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan can be maintained if the pork barrel spending, special interest group (most notably unions), entitlement program fraud, and bailouts are addressed. However, most people do not understand that terrorism isn't caused by poverty but rather poverty in the Middle East is caused by terrorism.

  • @EmperorProzen saying that we could support by cutting other spending doesn't make them more moral or fiscally responsible. similarly, we could maintain a giant health care bureaucracy if we gutted DoD spending, and cuts to other entitlements. would that make it fiscally conservative. supporting small government doesn't go out the window just because the military is involved.

  • @MrDevilBunny It isn't just about spending. Our whole system diminishes success but rewards failure. Even if the government maintained a balanced budget while paying off the debt, the problem would not be solved. It is about waste and the demonization of achievement and efficiency. There are many unnecessary regulations out there but also taxes on production that drive up costs. Not to mention welfare programs and tax deductibles which cost tax payers enormous amounts of money while encouraging.

  • @MrDevilBunny If government programs are managed efficiently and turn over the left over money to the government then they will be given less money next year to maintain the program. It is not just the private sector which is punished for success. Being financial successful is a lot like being a criminal you are "evil and need to suffer for it" via persecution (taxes). This is why we should adopt the FairTax, which replaces all federal taxes with a tax on consumption, so all of this will change.

  • @MrDevilBunny When Ronald Reagan was an actor he reached a point where he paid 94% of his salary in taxes (mostly income tax)! He actually began to ask himself before starring in a movie whether or not it was worth it. He then said that if you have to stop and think about whether or not to work because of taxes it is wrong. If he didn't the other people working to make the film wouldn't have jobs and American Dream is diminished.

I could be wrong but didn't we used to say, "it's a free country?"

  • @EmperorProzen 94% is a bit of a stretch.

  • @JohnnyRock2000 Democrats bombarded people, most notably the rich, with tax increases to pay more World War II. What people don't seem to understand about higher tax rates, is that they: cost the government more money, create stagnated wages, slow economic growth, and increase tax evasion. This is not a one-time happenstance but rather economic law. Did people forget Maryland's tax hikes or the 77% reduction in the yacht industry?

    Source: The-tax-that-turned-Ronald-Reagan-right by Toomuchonline

  • @MrDevilBunny There is something that people should know about the concept of security for a Middle East country. Drive your car drive 15 minutes and you are surrounded by people who want to kill you! Now drive 30 minutes in another direction (not toward home) and arrive in an entirely new place. Here you are surrounded by different people who also want to kill you. Get back in your car, drive another 20 minutes and you are now in a third country. This time the whole country wants to kill you!

  • @EmperorProzen you realize that israel has normalized and peaceful relations with the countries it shares it's two longest borders with, right? and have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, taking a proactive role in the peace process where they ACTUALLY give up something (like say, keeping the west bank occupied and militarized) that they might strengthen their hand and get moderate arabs on their side? or do in fact think that arabs hate jews just because they're jews?

  • @MrDevilBunny Muslims (especially Iran) hate them because they are prosperous like us. Not just that but many Islamic factions have little or no tolerance for other Islamic sects let alone the Israelis and Palestinians. Only 10% of Muslims are radicals (Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al Qaeda, Al-Aqsa Brigades, Hamas, the Taliban etc...) and they are not just a threat to Israel, the United States, and Europe but also the other 90% of Muslims.

Do you remember what happened when the U.S. left Cambodia?

  • @MrDevilBunny Now drive 45 minutes, and you're in another country, and the people there want to kill you as well. Get back in your car and drive 6 hours. You've now driven through 3 more countries where everyone wants to kill you. That is what it's like to be a Jew and to live in Israel. That is what it means to be a Jew in the Middle East and their complete absence of security.

Imagine living in a state smaller than New Jersey, and everyone in Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware want you dead.

  • The said US "republicans" are no more then Oil money makers, they care of nothing except their purse, very few are republicans for real, since to lie (WMD) is not part of the republican values as i know, and there is the Dems, to give a sense to all of this.

  • @forfreedom5 Saddam Hussein bragged about having WMDs. Whenever threats like this are made you cannot ignore them (even if you later find out there aren't any). The European Allies tried to ignore Hitler when he mobilized and made statements of expansion.

As for the $1 trillion war spending, the Stimulus Package (which didn't work because Keynesian economics will never work) alone was $787 billion and the Democrats continue to say "this isn't nearly enough spending". They are the big spenders.

  • @EmperorProzen US secret service were not efficient enough to figure out, if WMD were rherotic or there was more.. most saddam weaponary been destroyed during gulf war. if you want to make an analogy, that would mean make a new war against germany, 10 years after WWII, while country is still in ruin, and starve for drug and food. $787 billion could have been of good use at time of financial crisis.

  • You want a proof of my point.. see Katrina (bush was busy playing golf at the time) and Haiti (Obama is concerned, like HE HIS concerned of US people), but as always, as long as the said 'republicans' will not make money with Obama reforms, they will undermine it, crush it by lack of fund or similar ways.

  • the good of the republican, for real.. good yes, for big money makers.. ever seen any wonder why the US spent one trillion in the war in iraq, looking for bullshit WMD.. very few did.. the good of the dems, take care of their own citizen.. make everyone have his share of a wealthy / rich nation.. is hard to name the said US "republicans", republicans, i'd better name them, greedy anarchist, sounds more accurate.

  • @forfreedom5 Many democrats are socialists who believe in using force while letting the government overreach its Constitutional boundaries.

Whenever you are committed to do good with someone else's money, you are committed to using force. How can you do good with someone else's money unless you take it away from them?

    Thoreau said:

Sincerity is a much overrated virtue. Heaven preserve us from the sincere reformer who knows what is best for you and will make you do it whether you like it or not.

  • @EmperorProzen nation offer goodies.. police, education, motorway and much more, they help make all the system work together (banks), it is the last resort in time of overwhelming crisis. You benefit from the system, hence you have to pay for it. Now you can say they can do better with your money. I think it is you right, if not your duty, to check out if you have enough for the money you give.

  • whatever Obama will do, like Clinton tried too.. republican will make it look stupid, either by lack of fund, or make the money go elsewhere.. hence everybody will turn republican by the end, telling all Dems did, didn't work, but the real thing, is the republicans will destroy core of the reform

  • I don't know much about american politics, but in all fairness, I feel like I should share this with you;

I'm from canada. We have healthcare. We're not dead or starving to death yet.

  • @Game

    I don't know much about Canadian politics, but in all fairness, I feel like I should share this with you;

I'm from America. We have healthcare. We're not dead or starving to death yet.

Our taxes are less than half of yours. We don't get ass raped in taxes to pay for fat slob smokers' health insurance. We don't let our government take control of 1/6th of our economy. We don;t have to wait 3 months for simple knee surgery.

  • @zalzankavol2 Um, you must not know too much about Canada then, because I've NEVER had to wait 3 months for ANYTHING. lol

Not to mention our health care has NOTHING to do with our insurance. We don't have to pay ANYTHING to ANYONE for ANY health care of Any sort besides drugs.

On top of that, we don't get "Ass raped" in taxes, as you put it. In fact, a lot of the time, we get taxes back. I got a check about a month ago, actually, for $60 from the government for half a year of taxes.

  • @GameFreak982928 Then why is it that so many CANADIANS TRAVEL to the UNITED STATES for treatment right away?

  • @EmperorProzen

Rarely happens. It must only people who are so rich they WANT to pay for their services, because under MCP, everything is paid for. That, or they have to see specialists or need different treatments not offered in Canada, which is also a rarity.

I LIVE here, I KNOW how my country's health care works. Answer this for me: How come a lot of Canadians living in the states come BACK to canada when they need surgery? Here's why: Because in canada, their surgery's covered under MCP.

  • @GameFreak982928 Sorry, I have been busy with college and lost track of time.

Socialism is not nearly as effective as capitalism because the government drains the resources within the private sector and then uses them where they are typically not needed; misallocation of resources.

Also, the whole concept of redistribution of wealth may be okay to you in Canada but it is unconstitutional to take

P.S. If Canada's health care is SO good, then why don't Americans go to Canada for free treatment?

  • @EmperorProzen I can answer that last question. Americans don't go to Canada for free treatment because, well, Americans CAN'T go to Canada for free treatment. You have to be a Canadian Citizen in order to get an MCP card.

You may complain about the whole concept of redistribution of wealth, but here's a fact; my ex in the USA knows someone who may NEVER walk again because she can't afford surgery to fix her leg. That sound fair to you?

P.S. S'okay, I respond to late comments all the time.

  • @GameFreak982928 The reason health care is expensive here is because of three things.

    1. We have two government entitlement programs which not only require tax payers to pay for their treatment but also takes business away from the private sector.

    2. Government regulation

    3. Absence of tort reform

There is a man named Milton Friedman who vividly describes the dangers of socialism. He won a Nobel Prize in Economics. You will like him.

P.S. Thanks for responding. I do the same whenever possible.

  • @EmperorProzen I'll have to look him up sometime. Even so, I still like our system, because people get treated weither they can afford it or not. It might not be the most economical idea ever, but it at least makes me feel better that people who need treatments aren't shown the door because they're too poor to afford it.

I admit I'm not a genius in the economic side of things, and it's nice debating with someone who knows at least what they're talking about. =)

  • @GameFreak982928 So if I'm in Canada for some reason and get hurt or sick then I won't be treated? Because I talked with someone who lived in a country with universal health care and he said they treat citizens and foreigners alike for free.

There was also a story of a U.S. celebrity who went to Canada and had to go back to America for care.

I don't agree with that system either way because everyone needs to be able to pay for his or her own treatment. Living off of others' money is freeloading.

  • @EmperorProzen Unfortunately you're right. My ex is American, and if he got sick, he would have had to pay for treatment here in Canada. Still, I don't mind paying a little bit extra in Tax money if it means that someday if I get extremely ill I won't lose my house because I can't pay for it. And it's only freeloading if you only take and don't give, which EVERY canadian citazen does. We all pay taxes, we all get healthcare.

  • @GameFreak982928 So treatment is provided. It is good to make foreigners pay for care because if it was "free" for everyone then people would go there for treatments and operations which would otherwise be expensive.

However, because the health care system is universal there are fewer options available due to the fact that some surgeries can be very costly and doctors are also paid a fixed salary, so there is no incentive for them to treat more patients than they are required to earn more money.

  • @EmperorProzen Perhaps so in the case of Family doctors, but as for Surgeons and doctors in the hospital, that's not the case. If someone is in need of emergency surgery or needs treatment right away, those doctors could lose their jobs easily if they were to turn them away. As for family doctors, I can tell you that most of them are up to their eyeballs in patients, at least here in Newfoundland.

Foreigners pay for healthcare because they don't pay taxes like we do. I agree with that too.

  • @GameFreak982928 I have heard of people dying while waiting in hospitals using national health care systems (like Cuba). Everyone I now who has been to a hospital at a socialist (or rather more socialist) country has said that it is like being at the DMV.

I still do not see it as ethical because people need to be able to support themselves. Progressive taxation (what the U.S. uses unfortunately) is not only unfair but it causes stagnated wages, slower economic growth, and penalizes productivity.

  • @EmperorProzen I've never heard of anyone having to wait for surgery until they die in Canada unless it was for something that couldn't be helped IE waiting for an organ donor or something like that. One time I hit my head really hard while skating, and as soon as I got to the hospital I was in being looked at by a doctor because I was at high risk for head trauma. I also got into the x-ray almost immedeately. The hospitals here treat people who really need it first so they're not waiting.

  • @EmperorProzen Clarke ex-chief counter-terrorism adviser, during the 9/11 crisis, many in the administration were distracted from efforts against Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda organization by a pre-occupation with Iraq and Saddam Hussein

  • @EmperorProzen

"P.S. If Canada's health care is SO good, then why don't Americans go to Canada for free treatment?.."

Rediculous argument I have no words to describe the stupidity.

You have no idea how the national health care works in other countries, do you?

And you are making argument over health care issue with that lack of knowledge?

  • @allgoo19 I know how the health care industry works, both privately and publicly run. I was pointing out that even though America's health care is costly (due to the government taking away business from the private sector as well as creating regulations) it is still effective and gives people care IMMEDIATELY.

In 1946, Truman submitted his health care proposal and people lined up to blast the proposal that Congress extended its hearings and then buried the plan (the same happened to Clinton).

  • @EmperorProzen

"it is still effective and gives people care IMMEDIATELY.."

It probably explains to other people who don't have national healthcare experience but I do.

We didn't have to wait more than ten minutes. If someone brought in for emergency care like injuries, he gets the priority over other people. We could chose any doctor.

I see many videos showing many Cacnadians are happy with their care.

Which part of Canada you live?

  • @allgoo19 I don't live in Canada and I am not a socialist. When people take about waiting times they are not usually referring to injuries, but rather medical preventive care which supposedly "does not take priority" (MRIs etc...). Some people have to wait up to six months after scheduling.

Canadians, for the most part, live healthier life styles and do not have a government which spends hundreds of billions every year on health care. If we go universal our debt crisis will be apocalyptic.

  • @EmperorProzen

    "I don't live in Canada .."

Which country you live in then?

Have you looked at other countries with national health care?

Do you know in US, people spends 17% of GDP(2008), compare to other countries 10% or less? And that 17% (estimated 20% by 2014)is increasing every year while steady in other countries.

What you think, the increasing care spending stops suddenly for no reason or the country goes bankrupt?

  • @allgoo19 I live in Richmond, Virginia as of December 18, 1999 where I moved from Louisville, Kentucky (I moved their in 1996 from Mount Laurel, New Jersey).

The reason why Americans spend 17% of GDP on health care is from overpriced insurance due to an absence of tort reform, unnecessary regulation, as well as hundreds of billions spent on Medicare and Medicaid by government.

Curious, do doctors in Canada have to purchase expensive malpractice insurance in case they get sued for $91 million?

  • @EmperorProzen

    "I live in Richmond, Virginia.."

You haven't answered this question yet.

"Do you have any numbers(Canadians come to US for the treatment) to prove that, instead of saying "I know many friends."?"

I don't live in Canada. I was born in Japan and spent quite a bit of my life there.

Ask any Japanese if they don't like their health care. It's like air, they don't even think about it.

Mal practice insurance seems to be US only thing. Then again, US is the only one w/o NHC.

  • @allgoo19 Current Japanese have never lived with the option of Private Health Care. Freedoms come with responsibilities and safeguards. When those entrusted to operate the safeguards are the ones pushing for bigger government, the system becomes corrupt.

  • @Alvin691

"Current Japanese have never lived with the option of Private Health Care..."

Have you ever lived in Japan?

My both parents were old enough, not to metion the eldery in the neighborhood, knew the situation before the current health care system had become effective. They all loved it.

And they spend half as much as US but covers everybody, just like other developed nations.

Taiwan, the newest comers to the system, spends 1/8 th the cost of US.

Who's paying you to be here?

  • @allgoo19 The best health care system is one in which everyone pays for his or herself and where the government plays a bare minimal role. Americans who have their own insurance are paying for themselves, seniors (Medicare), the poor (Medicaid), and even illegal immigrants. If people are paying for all those plus themselves that is how it becomes so expensive.

Now that Health Care Reform has been passed it will get MUCH worse with 16 million people being added to Medicaid, more regulation etc...

  • @EmperorProzen I think Jesus is fine with helping the poor and sick at the cost of the richest 2%

  • @Jesusisaliberal5150 Helping the poor is great! Jesus is said to be the founder of charity. However, charity is "freely giving". Giving via taxation is stealing. When politicians talk about government helping the poor they make it seem as though they are the ones giving and not the people they are taxing.

  • @EmperorProzen

You mean extremely rich Canadian celebrities that have the money to go to the one or two great but far too expensive hospitals in America? And that happens what? Twice a year. Maybe three times when you include specialized surgeries.

One fucking story breaks about Danny Williams(who is more than a millionaire, just like the rest of us average Canadians(that's a joke moron)) and you Republican sheep finally think you have the ammo you need.

You are not intelligent at all.

  • @Grungadin The reason health care is SO EXPENSIVE in the first place is because the government got involved via out of control spending programs (Medicare and Medicaid). If they are gone and tort reform is enforced, health care would be far cheaper but still retain its quality.

As for the "one or two great" hospitals. America's hospitals due a fantastic job taking care of people.

People talk about how great government run health care is, but how many people go to those places for treatment?

  • @EmperorProzen

Because socialized medicine is a farce. Even Britain finally realized it and is moving towards privatizing health insurance.

Lack of competition = lack of quality. Put on top of that the government running it and you have the Perfect Incompetence.

  • @Mal3volution Exactly! I knew that Germany was privatizing their health care system but I was unaware that Britain is too. Thanks for commenting. :)

  • @EmperorProzen

It's actually fairly new in the news - and by "news" I mean "foreign," since domestic "news" is really only an arm of the left... Glad to have helped!

  • Your sitting in a $600 Aeron Chair, how nice. Great demonstration of how you care about the American people. Frauds

  • oh one question (and PLEASE reply via private message please. I want to know the answer. a lack of response will pove to me the real answer).

will senators and people like yourself be forced to get the same insurance as the rest of America?

    if not, why?

  • soooo... you say it was taken out of context by showing a DIFFERENT video?

the original was from 2002, hile the second is from 2009.

How can you prove one video is false with a second video?

You, ma'am, are a lieing con artist.

that 2009 video is complete bull shit

I have read the bill and it says, straight up, that EVERYONE will have to buy insurance approved by the gov't (it's their own insurance.) and if you don't, you have to pay an extra $4500 a year.

    that's alot.

  • You can keep the insurance but will be fined if you don;t take the government plan....lol.....You people in Washington think we are that stupid?

  • lol....You mean scare people like saying if we pass this bailout unemployment will not go above 8%?

  • mandatory health insurance is tyrany!!

Obama lied. when he ran for office he said that he was against mandatory health insurance.

  • The fact they cannot dispute my comments is omission of guilt by silence. Its pretty scary concept I know, Americans that actually read the bills and will hold you accountable and to the chains of constitution.

  • I find it funny none of them want to talk about the facts. So here you go.

#1 In the bill current form you will be mandated to buy private healthcare by 2014, no choice you buy it or you get fined.

  • Comment removed

  • #2 In the bill current form they have increased Medicare however the increase isnt nearly enough, currently the poverty line is around 10,000 a year in this bill it makes Medicare cover those who make around 14,000 a year the problem is thats not even minim wage,

  • so the guy working at the fast food store will be forced on minim wage to buy healthcare or be fined

#3 This bill dose very little to help Americans and lot to help big corporations like phrama and aarp who will rake in billions once your forced to buy healthcare.

  • #4 I have yet to hear if there is a state opts out option, if not this would be a direct violation of the articles of the constitution specifically the 10th amendment.

#5 These democrats had to be bought off to vote this in many too pretty much what equate to bribes to secure their votes asking for hundreds of millions in fed money.

  • Good you tell obama too heed the 10th amendment, or their will be hell to pay if he doesnt, he doesnt want to share history with Lincoln. no no no the death part the civil war part. You have no authority to force the sovereign states to take this bill or the ability to take away the ultimate say from the people, it better have a state opt out option or you guys are in whole lot of trouble

  • Its pretty simple you rail roaded your healthcare plan though with a supermajority which was pointless the reds states dont have to accept it per the constitution. If you think states like SC and Kentucky are going to allow the feds to take away the sovereign rights away from the people and the states your pretty dam stupid.

  • Hillary Clinton is out there talking about everyone in America having a "right" to health care.

How does one have a right to a service that someone else provides?

  • fight it hard.

I fail to understand why health insurance can't be for everyone.

  • As NAFTA and Freetrade continue to screw the American Worker our healthcare woes will continue to increase.

Shut the door on China, we all go back to work at good paying jobs with healthcare coverage. Keep on making the Mall Owners rich and America will be on its knees for a single payer system in the future.

  • This lady is a fucking liar, as well as all the communists in the Oblahblah administration.

  • Let me clue Ms. Douglass in to a document that is misleading about health care and is confusing not only citizens, but also many members of Congress. Here's a hint: It's about 1,900 pages.

  • Here's a fact, We are ranked #37 in health care by the W.H.O! Just above a little country named Slovenia! LMFAO! Our Health care is a fucking joke!

  • No one is against healt care reform..

  • Actually there are people whom argue that this health care reform will add to the nation's deficit & that it will leave debt to our children, so I say to those who claim this, Are we not paying now the debt that the previous administration left us in? And what did we benefit out of that debt? A war with a country that has been raging for nearly 7 years with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. Yet now that the president wants to spend money on Americans for America The GOP opposes him!

  • What's your point? Because the govt got into debt for a war, then the gvt must get into a bigger debt for healtcare?
