Great, Bravo! I'm brazilian and I have the partiture for this piece, so like someone has said, it sounds brazilian. Really, the melodic line played by flute is the same for voice. Maybe the author, Heitor Villa-Lobos, could has in mind a compass a bit more slow, but this don't make this presentation less beautiful. Very well done. 5 stars!

Nice bel canto sound on the flute. The guitarist is sitting in a position that does not allow for more power in the right hand when needed...so the guitar sound is a little flat (I don't mean as in pitch) and not as expressive as it could be.

Nice interplay between them.

The original is for eight cellos and vioce. This transcription is done by Villa-lobos himself. Max Eschig prints all the Villa-Lobos scores. Just make your own transcription, I bet you can play directly from the guitar score.

I absolutely love Bachianas Brasileiras, but I also dislike opera. So, the usual vocal that accompanies this tune I find offensive. It's VERY hard to find instrumental versions of this great piece. Your version was wonderful. I would much rather hear a flute playing the lead on this piece rather than the annoying wailings of some disgusting overweight soprano. Thank you again for a lovely rendition!

I agree in a way; most vocalists really maul this piece, overdoing it. But Salli Terri sang it very well with Laurendo Almieda way back 30 years ago. The music was reissed on CD and is well worth finding as the whole album was good.
