  • Can you please tell me how you made the disc spin with out the case ? I have made a custom platform with no case and the disc wont spin, so im sure there is something ( a contact) or something that will allow me to operate it outside of the gray case, any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • the laser is ksm-440adm

so...the playstation unit model is an scph 5001,5501 or 7001 :D!

  • @Naitoraven951 or 5551

  • can anyone play mr. driller?

  • Wow! This concole was $400 bucks?????

  • Thumbs up if you still playing PS3 or X-box 360

  • I didnt know they spin that slow

  • @ultramegachicken1001 PS1 has a 2x cd-rom drive, it was pretty fast back in 1994, faster ones were very expensive. Probably as expensive as triple-layer blu-ray burners will be.

  • you have a nice ps3

  • I have the same problem dude

  • I still have mine from way back, most reliable console i've ever owned, Modern day consoles don't last shit against these rocks :)

  • No better way to examine how a machine really works than to rip the external shell off and kick it on, right? Just be careful with that particular game, it's pretty rare these days.

  • It's alive! it's alive! :P

  • how did you take that apart

  • @Taking1n1 You kidding? you just unscrew all the screws on the bottom, lift the top case, put a disc on the reader, and start it up.

  • @MMOchAForPrez alright but now (in an attempt to mod it) it won't turn on. HLP PLZ??

  • @Taking1n1 well first of all i need to know how you tried to mod it (if it was like something that you needed to solder or sumthin...) the only things i think you should check is if you broke anything while tightening screws, check to see if the power cable (from the plug, to the PS1) is in all the way, check to see if the cable from the power supply (thingy that you plug the power cable into) to the motherboard in in on both sides, or check the fuse thats next to the power input area.

  • @MMOchAForPrez alright. thx alot btw I was trying to mod it by putting tape over the black thing so it would run whilst the lid is open

  • @Taking1n1 That wouldn't work for me so i just ripped it off and completed the connections with good ol' wires. What you are talking about is hardly a mod. Only when you start getting into soldering, or sometimes even gluing instead of soldering, points to each other may you have the right terminology to use the word "hack" (also commonly referred to as modding which could be considered as such). Anyways, I'm glad to help! Just hoping you get your PSX working again, because it's an antique.

  • @MMOchAForPrez Well I've tried everything you've said and its not going back to life. (btw its one of those white ps1)

  • my dad used to work with a guy that thought (and nothing could convince him otherwise) that a cd was read the same way as a cassette, by haveing the laser actually pressing against the skin. what a fucking retard

  • I still got this one,,, NOW I'm trying to burn a CD to play with it... I Really Missed old time.. !!

  • i wanna hear it load the cd! *crunch crunch zip*

  • Thats real safe :DDD

  • Thumb up if you still playing on PSX

  • guys i got working scph-102! and dualshock with mem card but no games

  • @goktug123123 102 or 1002?

  • @bacovia2004 its 102 new model

  • You spin me right 'round baby right 'round like a record baby right 'round 'round 'round 'round

  • memory spin disc XD

  • Who still owns a PS1??? (thumbs up if you do)

  • @Spikestuff95 me,and i have 3 :D

  • @Spikestuff95 I have 2 PSOne and 1 PSX (the original PSX was bought in 1998-7502 Model and the two PSOne I found in Flea Market) ;)

  • @1979starscream I have 6 PSone consoles (4 original in order:9002 my first one needs resoldering the modchip,7502 needs orange ribbon cable connector replace from a broken 9002 i have[i have a 9002 without sound and 7502 uses it's power supply]1002 (had used an 9002 drive cutted [HARDLY]at the botom after orange ribbbon cable, another 9002[lol]that was the 1002's donor, replaced with a cd player drive :)) then the last ones are:PSone white (the one came when PS2 released,2000)and another PSone.

  • @Spikestuff95 mine died in a tragic accident.

  • @RPtwinz How?

  • @Spikestuff95 My not so smart younger brother hammered it.... :/

  • @Spikestuff95 Yep, last night i played a lil Metal Gear Solid =)

  • @Spikestuff95 Me,and it's a 1002!(+some leds and a modchip :) )

  • Why are people pissed of? The title explains what the video is about. Why did you click it

  • being a 16 year old born in 1994

All i have to say is that the PLAYSTATION 1 is a hell of alot funner than todays consoles like those stupid console wars going on.

I miss playing wwf smackdown and being able to do my finishers 5 times in a row, NOW thats what you call gaming!!!

  • My cousin got still one, sometime gonna play there, not far from my home =3

  • PSU on the left and Motherboard on the right.

  • @JamieBugajski erm, no, it'll only damage your eye if you basically touch your eye to the lense, however, the CD doesn't spin fast enough to hurt you.

  • @funkymunky65 “Lense” or “Lens”

  • MAGIC OF PLAYSTATON. Blue-Ray and Cell killed it in PS3. However this sound has Playstation Portable 1000 series.

    Good video. Congratulations!

  • You spin me right round, baby

right round like a record, baby

    Right round round round! :D

  • 43,801 views for this?!! O_o I clicked because i thought this couldn't be all there was to this video but i'm wrong. Why do i put any effort into my vids?

  • It would look incredibly awesome if the psx had a transparent box... then you could always see how the disk is spinning :D

  • cool thumb up

  • can u show me how to fix my ps1? the disk on the ps1 dose not spin.

  • Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • i bet you can put linux on there

  • So stupid comments here, the video does what it is titled for, what did you expect? An exploding elephant??

  • i still have a playstation and theyre awesome except one day i saved some data onto a memory card which playstation was slim and then i put the memory card into the grey playstation and then i load the memcard data i select anything like free ride italian job or challenge but it stays on the loading screen

  • I love the P logo sound when a game starts :D Too bad the laser in the disc drive in mine is fucked

  • i had 1 of those but i peed on it not only that but the beggining music was alot better on ps1 then ps2 ir ps3

  • I had gotten one at some random place for $15.

It was my first playstation... Now I have that and a modded PSP.

  • when i was little that sound had me paranoid

  • by the looks of hose liiiitle tiny wires i would say some one has a mod chip hehe me too wanna hook up sometime and chat about the games we got

  • Oh how I miss that sound. It reminds me of my childhood.

  • @traskderk I know exactly what you mean. I just got a PSone on ebay. I can't wait for it to arrive! Ohhh, the nostalgia.

  • i hooked up one of these bad boys for the first time in years last night. =)

  • WE (i) 2 poeple thats why...juwst got a ps fixed loland (WE) bought a new game SPIDERMAN! yesterday it rocks that sound in the beginning mkes (US) feel calm

  • how cute :)

  • @jordannewcastle Sadly not :( They made small PSone models up to about 2003 though, for around £50.

  • @MaxB1195

i dont get hy they made a ps one with a built in screen and speakers but they couldnt for the xbox and ps3/ps2. the xbox has a TV accessory that clips on but it needs its own power source.

  • Actually the PSone screen is a 7" LCD that's sold seperately and is rahter rare - it clips onto the back of the PSone. Doesn't work with the larger modles though...

But then again you might mean a PSP :P

  • Do they still make ps1's?

  • that spinning sound, brings back memories :)

  • may be even madarada shatingan

  • i wish my ds and game boy tuck cd's

  • @Nopiw You can get one off bidding and buying websites 2nd hand SO cheap!!!!!! EXTREMELY CHEAP.

  • @Nopiw I Do Too. I Can't Play Mine Cause The lens Are Busted :-(

  • @Nopiw

We all miss that sound -> but in graphic terms = fuck it.

  • @mathias921 PS1 was best in graphics in those times.PS3 graphics will suck too after 10 years.

  • @samvcool

Indeed -> that's why you buy an PC,

then you only have to upgrade one part at a time -> saving money.

  • @mathias921 I agree with u buying an PC

but i dont understand the 'saving money' thing.

  • @samvcool

Let's put it this way -> games are harder to ''crack'' on consoles than PCs.

  • @mathias921 OH Yeah! Now i agree with ya

  • @samvcool

lol - I also have some good memories from the countless hours I've spent in front of my

old monitor and Playstation-One, but eventually you've to move on [IMO].

  • @mathias921 Ya I played PS1 so much that eventually the discs became unreadable.but still PS2 and PS3 are just not like PS1

  • ................

  • i j ust have one question... why?

  • @Phraseblaster Hahaha, indeed, man. Some people...

  • ive done this with my busted PSP the UMD drive still works i think but i have this family guy disk that the PSP tries to mount but it cant, i just have the little cd inside and it came like that i did not take it apart i need a new screen for my psp the psp slim PSP-2001
