I had the same problem as you guys; open up quickinstall, go to tools, then click device management, go to your apps... click preware and package manager service, click unistall.... Then go to the down arrow until you go back to the apps and go back to preware and package manager service, click both at the same time and download em at the same time, then install them. After they are installed restart your phone

ok to everyone who is having problems, you might be missing one MAIN part to start this whole operation, you need to put your device in developer mode, to do this. go to your main screen in your palm and make sucre no apps are open. then type in, webos20090606 tap on developer mode, tap on, tap restart.......and try it again :-)  if anyone has any questions about the program or computers just send an email.

I did this and it worked. But hen i noticed the battery didnt last as long so i used webOS doctor to fix my phone and restore it to factory settings. Cause the Pre is amazing without all of this!

2. open quick install and connect your palm pre to the computer, then on your palm pre type:

2) The installation showed a step where you have to choose the network operator of your Pre, i.e. Sprint in this case. My Pre will be on the UK network O2. Will O2 be supported in this installation process?
