  • thats wrong mate. its not EADGBE, its DGCFAD. the tuning i mean (drop d)

  • Comment removed

  • @Vitilsky

    DADGBE is drop d

    so you are actually wrong

  • @123rockdrummer no it's not

  • you have got so many guitars i wish to have them all.

  • what tuning is that?

  • @worldunited1234 DGCFAD

  • the tuning is wrong, its actually a half step down in all the strings

  • This is the easiest song ever played...its everybodys first song learned

  • @locoawise No, mine was talk dirty to me.

  • @MrMichaelMaggot That was just a colocation man... What I mean is that this song is not exactly van halen

  • @locoawise lol

  • is this an epiphone or a gibson?

  • that fool forgot the most important thing: the tuning is one step down to Standard D

  • @jogginganzug You're the fool.

  • I can the start too :D But not more. Btw as child I though E-Gitarrs were leicht aber sind voll schwer VOODOO söhne von samedi

  • ACE!

  • yesterday i only knew the 1st four strums of this song....now today i watched this vid and learned this whole riff in a mere 10 min.

    GREAT LESSON!

  • what is the boss pedal for that???

  • chorus i think

  • i have an acuostic guitar and its easyer to use it bt i rlly dont get it am kinda new at this stuf f

  • thanks so much mate....i kept messing this damn riff up...and everyone had a different version....ive finally learnt it! just need some more practise...TO THE GUITAR!

  • isn't this song in a standard D tuning? or is it a standard D# tuning?

  • @quietcrowd d tuning isnt standard.. e is.

  • @toasterthrowdown of course e is standart, this song's original tuning is just called "standard d" because it's the standard tuning (not dropped or some shit) just one step lower

  • @toasterthrowdown of course e is standart, this song's original tuning is just called "standard d" because it's the standard tuning (not dropped or some shit) just one step lower

  • i cold play this song and im 10 but not most of it just the main riff

  • But you cannot spell...

  • this is the easiest Nirvana song to play and you need a chorus pedal to make it sound good

  • Something in the Way is easier than this one :d

  • parli italiano per favore

  • I can play this riff, but i cant figure out the tuning. how do u get the E to drop tp D?! I appreciate the help!!!!

  • Yankees, if your D string (third from the top) is tuned, you can pluck the low E and the D string at the same time, tune the E string down enough, 'till you can hear, that they sound alike.

You do the same thing with the A and the G string, tune the A down to a G.

Of course, you can just use a tuner, but the hearing method is a bit cooler, and when you get the hang of it, you can tune up and down within 5 seconds ;)

  • thank you!

  • en que tono esta afinada?

    por favor

  • no se cual es el tono ... pero por lo q e visto solo tiene un tono mas abajo la sexta cuerda osea.... seria asi : E B G D A C

  • you have to drop your guitar one step down...

  • u have to drop half step down if ur doing the acoustic version its standard if ur playing the electric version

  • man ty a lot

    it help me so much

  • OH I GET IT NOW!!!!!!! i was hitting the A string twice, instead of going back and forth.

  • exelent video thank you

  • thanks!! i got it!! not perfect but i completely understand now!!

  • Great video, very helpful. 5 stars!

  • chrz reli easy song because of u

  • AMAZING MAN THANKS

  • Thank you! I've found it very useful

  • why does it sound otherwise as the original? I think Nirvana has pitched the notes?

  • Kurt played in on dropped D with a little chorus effect.

  • i thought it was tuned down a step

  • its because kurt cobain uses a chorus pedal for the song

  • used^^

  • I'm pretty sure he still does.

  • how do you know he doesn't use them in his death?

  • o my god^^

  • @Freerideboy2007 jajajaja i picture you face whe you read that i imagine it was very funny

  • @dxter7 thats right

  • haha same with me. if you have to look at this tutorial to learn this siple riff, you shoukdn't even be allowed to own a guitar. haha

  • well your lookin at the tutorial

  • COBAIN!! dude it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that out

  • Except that it's tuned a step down...

  • slow down!!!!!!

  • oh, this isnt much help, i already figured this out on my on : /

  • u would have to specifically tune it in some way to make this song sound right, caz it doesnt sound right wen u have your guitar tuned the way it should be

  • Yo, seriously, it's "Cobain" not "Kobain" or "Korbain".

  • lol korbain

  • i never thought it would be so simple thanks

  • thanks

    helped me out a ton

    :)

  • wow thanks man! i was looking for a perfect tab subed

  • i can play that way easier on acoustic

  • I snore this melody in my sleep, in fact my snot becomes like guitar strings dangling from my nose, thats when the "Magical nose goblins"(think Ren and Stimpy) come and play nirvana all night!

  • (8) Comeee, as youu aree, as aaa frieeend (8)(8) :P

  • omg thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaancks

  • WOW!! i play nirvana!!

thx man ,now ill check the 2nd part..hope its easy too : )

  • OMG!

    thanks SOOOO much!!! :D

  • bcrichplayer88 - hey ya' gotta bc rich guitar cool! - this is easy to play - but a lot of great stuff isn't difficult to play - the genius is in coming with those cool riffs in the 1st place! - sometimes 'simple' is 'better'

  • Quick but concise lesson. To the point. Excellent !

  • penis secks

  • thats amazing and easy

  • ur a freakin awesome teacher

  • that riff isnt too hard to teach :P

  • so easy . . . ! ! !

  • this isnt hard to play. it can be done in less than 3 minutes. just play along as he is showing you then peice it together.

  • yeah i know

  • Thanks so much! This video is really helpful. Keep them coming!

  • when going from 2nd fret on A string to open E string to 1st fret E, I keep making a noise as I let go of the 2nd fret A string. any advice?

  • he said the cd name not the song name

  • and i know there's going to be people saying i dont knwo what im talking about so heres to you:

go watch/listen to someone on here or in person play a Kurt Cobain song or solo... then listen to Kurt Cobain play it... it sounds NOTHING the same...

that is why he is a pro and other people arent... the difference is obvious

  • only because he didnt tune a step down, although I cant believe he didnt mention that... other than that's he's right, though

  • i didn't say he was wrong,if you're referring to me... all i said was listen to Kurt Cobain play these songs then listen to anyone else on youtube and they sound nothing alike

  • well, he was wrong lol. but whatever

  • im sorry but noone can learn to "play" this song in minutes.

you have to be a trained guitar player to be able to play any song,no matter how easy or difficult,or have a natural ability to be able to play a song in a matter of mins...

it isnt as easy as it looks. and by play i dont mean just play the song, i mean play it right, the way its supposed to be strummed, timing and the sound...

so unless youre some kind of prodigy, i believe you're lying.

  • Hell yes, I'm one step closer to playing this song now!

  • thanks , total beginner me , this was nice and easy to pick up and my mates will think i'm some kind of expert now !

  • no they won't idiot

  • thanks bro

    learned this in 5 mins

  • tune down tow loset strings one step

  • Myn so good on the top string ut not on the second one

  • could u pls give me the sheet music for that

  • if u need sheet music for this youre a fucking moron and shouldnt be playing guitar

  • so true i learned this song the first day i started playing by just looking at my cousin play it, this song is so easy

  • k i get how where it is e string and stuff but then i got lost when he said go to open a and then go back to e and play that 2 times. Do i still hold the fretted figures down? someone answeer me

  • nice video dude!

  • who are you to say what to do? You ppl really think its drop d, awesome. =D Come as you are...

  • if you think come as you are is in drop D than u should play it in Drop D. I as a guitarist know its definitly not Drop D, its a

    full step down. So WTF?

  • who gives a fuck calm down okk

  • Drop D
