  • Hello,

Yes, I think you can. You'd be better off with a Giant Sequoia than a Coast Redwood. You're probably in zone 5b-6, I would think. I'm in zone 5b here in Western, NY and my Giant Sequoia is about 6 feet now.

You will need to keep it protected and mulched the first couple of winters until it's established.

  • nice

  • I don't have Redwoods growing, but I am growing Giant Sequoias in Western, NY. I have a Giant Sequoia that is not about 5 feet tall.

  • hope you prove they can grow in the eastern coast too,so to expand their natural habitat!

  • @whughey42 do you think i would be able to plant a redwood/sequoia at my house? i live in central PA. please respond.

  • I have one of these--one tree planted about '65 on my property in Wa State. I am in the Western part of the state in a supberb of Seattle Wa.

It stands alone and is stressed by littel space and no fog or ocean breeze. it is gorgeous with the telltale bark. It took many years to determine it's exact name.!!

It cannot be cut down, thank goodness for it's trunk is enormous. It is about 70 feet tall.

The previous owner of this home planted it.

  • Dude, check out the video length? Coincidence?

    Smoke trees erryday.

  • Not yet: They plan to develop an Android - we hope soon! Until then you can take a geo-located photo with your Android phone or camera out in the forest, then upload the photo directly to the website when you get back home.

  • Is there an Android app?
