My thoughts and prayers go out to the Big Man's family as it must be very hard to hear this very popular Springsteen Christmas song repeatedly over a 3-4 week span. So many memories, never to forget him!
I cannot believe nine years has past since I attended this concert with, Jen, the woman I was dating at the time. I had taken her to Paris and London six weeks earlier. She bought the tickets to this as her thank you gift. Immediately after this song a snow storm began in Pittsburgh.
This concert was a christmas gift from the woman I was dating at the time. I had taken her to Paris and London six weeks earlier. She this was her thank you gift.
trying to find the version where before he starts singing he asks the audience if they've been good, apparently not many raised their hands & he says "that's not many, that's not many, you guys are in trouble out there!" Thanks!!
This is absolutely amazing to see this video on YouTube. I shot this video over 7 years ago as a senior at Bucknell Univ.. Drove to and from Pittburgh for the show that same day/night w/ w buddy and vividly recall the land-speed record drive back to school!
To note: Shut offcaamera for Thunder Road (thinking concert was over- did not want riks getting busted) but turned back on for this special song.

I was with Bruce at the Stone Pony that night...we was drinking whiskey and talkin' Politrix. That was an imposter performing with the E-Street Band! A phony, a fake! Bruce is like 4 inches shorter than that guy.

This version of this song is on my list of worst Christmas songs. Especially that old pukey version where he makes himself laugh while he's singing. Puh.
I saw The Boss last year (almost to date) at the Palace in Detroit, and it was unlike anything else. You can just tell that he's having a great time up there.
I was at the same show, I was up in the Pit, AMAZING SHOW! I wouldn't mind a few more of the hits added in on a show though.......Glory Days or Born in the USA would be awesome additions! Bruce Rocks though!
I was there with my girlfriend at the time. I took to Paris for her 30th birthday, two months earlier, she took me to see Bruce for my Christmas gift. I got the better deal.
Hey I was just checking out shows I was at - thats my santa hat on the Big Man's Head - we were in the Pitt that night - wow haven't seen that thing in a few years - had to get a new one!
I was at this show, too. People in the first couple of rows all had Santa hats which they later threw on stage for the band to wear. Very cool....thanks for sharing.
I was at this show 12/4/02 and I can't tell you how exciting it was to see him do this live. I was hoping he would sing this during th entire concert... You really had to be there.
Hey Jazzman. Since your name is "Jazzman", you obviously don't have a rockin' bone in your body and therefore are tone deaf as well. He is one of the greatest icons of our time and just one more thing - DON'T HATE!!
Acually I do listen to rock music a lot but being a rocker isn't an apology for a professional musician not to hit one single tone in his performance.
This may not be his best performance ever, but i echo what everyone else says, it's not always about having the nicest voice. He's probably one of the biggest rock icons ever. Here in New Jersey, even bigger than Elvis. It's about the writing and the awesome live performances. Go Bruce!
Also keep in mind that this video was probably taken by someone's camcorder so yes the sound's going to be off no matter what.

Yes I guess we "does", lol. And I think Springsteen is famous more for his songwriting, long shows, and soulful performances (his band being much responsible for this) than anything else. People complained about Dylan's voice, too, but got beyond it. I am not a big fan either, but that is how it went.
santa caluse as we know him today was created by coca cola. he was arround before that but he wore green!?!? coke just made him red and made billions out of it!

santa has nothing to do with the birth of jesus christ - one is an ancient pagan celebration the other is a christian holy day - though one could say that both are based on myths of one kind or another but let's not get into that...
Actually Santa Claus was a saint from Turkey. There his name was Saint Nicholas, then it moved up through europe gradually changing his name, and "picking up" some pagan traits, until he got the name Sinter Klaas in the Netherlands. Since many from the Netherlands migrated to America, it has become a stable tradition there
i love it! he was i n oslo spektrum yesterday, andi was there. he played this song for around 10 minutes and it was FANTASTIC!!! ROCK!! The E Street Band too!
