However this is misleading..we pay with our taxes, government comes in and says "Your too stupid to know what you want, you need health care..so i'm going to take your hard earned money and buy health care for you."

Dear Canadians, please stop taking credit for the war of 1812. It wasn't your success, as you were a British colony at that point. You were a British proxy fighting a war with (to your credit) Canadian soldiers, but British support, money, hardware, etc. You did not win that war on your own.
