OMG I wish the family would stfu... so what if the children didn't want to take over? Can you imagine the pressure they must have been under? I don't think Sooty is the same as the good old days for sure, but that's no reason to pressure people into taking over a huge franchise like that just for the sake of "keeping it in the family".
I think Mathews' uncle and aunt we right. I think Harry wld hav been VERY disappointed if he wld've found out that Sooty was now out of the family. I know if Mathew was 2 read this comment, it might make him feel slightly guilty, or this might sound like I'm emotional blackmailing, but I act as if things r worse than they r, but they Mathews' aunt said it, it made me feel like Mathew had done the equivalent of putting Sooty up 4 adoption!
Well that is blackmail because you would be forcing Sooty onto one of Matthew's family... they have their own lives to lead and can do what the hell they want to!!! Obviously they DIDN'T want to follow in their fathers footsteps... so you should respect them for it. If your Dad said YOU HAVE TO DO MY JOB ... would you????? I wouldn't or i would at least like the choice!!!
I think the bitterness of Matthew's uncle and aunt is because of the feud that started when Matthew took over from Harry, it didnt mean to cause a row but did. I think the family have had lots of things happen to them so it was bound to happen. They seem like a very respectable family though and are very private, but great insight to how it all started for them all.
Well, given the bitterness the handover caused in the 1980s - and the fact that Matthew sacrificed his own independance to support a father who wanted to hold control - I think MC's million-pound deal was the BEST thing for the Corbett family. Matthew has a serious condition and couldn't have carried on much longer.
It just makes me cry about how Sooty just captured a lot of hearts

Very good. I somehow doubt it will go another 50 years, though (sadly)
