Why shouldn't they have? The team wants to improve, they need an effective player like Newton playing for them. How is it a waste of his ability? He's already had a record-breaking rookie season, and the Panthers are looking up, not down. @NFLization Cam Newton is already better than Vick was throughout years of him being in the league. Vick was a beast a year ago and he absolutely dominated except that his size is a problem but he can be dominate as he has shown. Cam comes in his rookie year he's expected to be a runner and instead he sits back in the pocket, surveys the field, and shows his amazing ability as a passer and has one of the best rookie seasons of all time while doing it. He's special.

They have performed well however, they played most of the season without a monstrous game-changing RT named Jeff Otah and a very good guard in Geoff Schwartz, yet they still managed to do a pretty decent job. So to summarize, yes their O Line is stable and with some very good players coming off an 18-players IR list they will be even better.

Yes. I did shoot a lot of the video myself. The footage recorded directly from the sidelines as well in the locker room were either recorded by me (on a Panasonic HDC) or someone I worked with. I am current student at Auburn and I work for Auburn University Athletics. I have the full videos on my hard drive right now including shots of me recording in it.

For years they have needed legit receivers to compliment Smith and have made nothing but half hearted efforts to get the receiver and QB help together. Always either one or the other.

They have performed well however, they played most of the season without a monstrous game-changing RT named Jeff Otah and a very good guard in Geoff Schwartz, yet they still managed to do a pretty decent job. So to summarize, yes their O Line is stable and with some very good players coming off an 18-players IR list they will be even better.

I think what you all fail to mention is the heart of this young man. People compare him to Jamarcus and Vince Young. But just look at how he carries himself and how he works at his craft. Same thing with the Brady 6. No one pried this guy's chest open to see his heart, what makes him tick, what drives him. This guy just absolutely hates to lose. about half of his int come from unlucky tip passes. he should have about 10 realistically instead of 17. if you watch all his games you would know that.
cam is going to be the greatest dual qb of all time and might be number one overall qb its all said and done. he is a different breed of scramble qb because he is big and durable but also fast and elusive. ive seen newton throw darts to his wr, that was not even looking yet, in stride. he can throw deep touch passes or thread the needle.
