As far as WW2 is concerned, no country survived to the german Blitzkrieg, the Russians luckily had the land mass to be able to retreat to the Urals. During WW1 more French soldiers were killed 1.3 million of them which is actually more than the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Italy combined we didn't want this war

Nowadays we are UNO and NATO member and as such we have the compromise (budget) to have a modern army to accomplish international missions since many years (Lebanon, Chad, Bosnia Afghanistan, kosovo....). Our military tradition is one of the oldest of the world and our current Marine infantry was founded 500 years ago (the oldest in activity of the world). @iarusso Actualmente ronda el puesto 14/15, y piensa que esto es así a pesar de no pretender armarse. Es el octavo país mas rico del mundo, para españa sería muy facil armarse hasta tener uno de los ejercitos mas poderosos del mundo... pero no es lo que pretende.
Tiene un ejercito con mas alcance que el turco, por ejemplo... por no hablar de una marina en la que hasta las fragatas son consideradas acorazados, o la mejor versión del leopard en propiedad (patente compartida con alemania).

¿y cuando españa o inglaterra nos ganaron alguna guerra? xd, solo podemos decir batallas, pero a los ingleses les dimos autenticas palizas ,pero solo recuerdan gibraltar y la armada invencible (que fué un uracán), pero no dicen nada de que después de gibraltar fueron a por el resto de andalucía y con los pocos que havian defendiendo como por ejemplo la batalla de Cádiz, les pegamos una paliza.
