It's 70's. 1976 to be exact, when Destroyer was released with Beth on it. And the song was written by Peter Criss. It was originally supposed to be called Beck. But Gene told him to change it so not to be confused with Jeff Beck at the time. Beck was Peter's girlfriend.
I have some studio equipment I just bought and plan to start recording. Could you please tell me what equipment you have that is helping you harmonize and tell me where I could get it/the cost please...
I'm such a sucker for vocal harmony.. My sons & I use to do it the old fashion way, we'd all three sing.. But these harmonizers, still fascinate me... I have an old style, Cassette tape, four track.. I'm as sure as I can be, I'd have a ball, using the harmonizer & 4 track, together... This video, is simply FABULOUS !!! What you're playing with here, could easily be compared to, a kid in a candy store, for me...
@DanLBoun glad that you like it. I will try and do some more examples for you, but I think you get the idea of how the unit works. It is pretty cool- even for the amateur singer..
The first song is an old one from when I was a kid called "Beth" . It was performed by KISS at that time. Written by Peter Chris the drummer I believe.
Is it possible to get a vocal harmonizer like from Audacity as I'm interested in creating sound effects with these type of effect? I've had a look but maybe it's something I don't recognize.
@Agui007 You've got to duplicate your track (once or any times you want) and change the pitch of each track the way, for example to get a minor chord you rise one track 3 semitones up and the other 7 semitones. You could add a short echo to get a similar effect to the one on the video. I tried it and it worked, but not as good as the thing DanLBoun is using.
The newest version works with guitar- so if you had prerecorded guitar part you could run that recording, lets' say from your mp3 playing into the unit to recognize the chords. Otherwise, with this unit which is midi based, you could use a laptop or midiplayer, download your Kar or mid song and output the keyboard track to the harmonizer. I have done this last option- works great and you can just worry about the singing and not play anything.. hope this helps..
would I be able to use this Harmonizer live without an instrument plugged into it? ... I do a show with me singing to karaoke backing tracks, would this work for me?
