  • need a little help here: when applying foundation/powder/base face makeup do you apply it to your eyelids as well? If you're gonna be packing on the eye makeup later will the foundation on the lids run and render your eye primer useless, making the shadows smudge? please help, thanks. (:

  • @boeeey If you're not planning on wearing eye shadow then it's a good idea to also make sure your eyelids match your face! However, if you are going to be covering the area with eye primer and then eye shadow anyway, then you don't need to apply foundation to the eye lid before the eye primer. =] (I know you posted this comment 8 months ago but hopefully this will still be helpful? LOL)

  • Do you have to use concealer of the hidden agenda palette if you only conceal your under eye circles?

  • great tutorials!! thanks for the tips =)

  • Hi xteeener- A question! Can Powder-Bronzer also be used as a setting powder? Although the texture is a bit more 'tough'? Thank you!

  • thats why she soaked it in water

  • hence the reason she soaked it in water first, it does not absorb as much product, and there are many methods for makeup app!!!

  • Thanx alot for the tips ;)

  • How you use the fake eyelashes? I try but I just cant

  • ur hot :]

  • ur eyes makeup lookd very natural. i like that look for normal days. what and how do you apply it?

  • id have to say, all your tutorials iv watched are very helpful. thanks :)

  • thanks for the video! its really helpful!

  • What would be a good drug store setting powder?

    :] need a suggestion

  • revlon's pressed powder is pretty good.

i heard lots of good stuff on the nyc loose powder too:)

  • thanks! :]

  • you are AMAZING. this helped a LOT. thank you!!

  • oh thanks so much. When I was applying my setting powder, I was bluffing it in, there for undoing everything I just did (foundation + concealer)! Thanks so much for the tip!

  • ur prettty

  • this helped a lot - I'm going back to the store to return my makeup because I can't seem to get the right shade, but we're almost the same tone, so I'll go with what you have. [: thanks for the advice.

  • gorgeous!

  • u dont need make up

    ur beautiful!

  • i loooove your nail's color!... which nail polish are you using?

  • I have a problem with my foundation turning red on my face after I have it on for awhile. Looks like I have been holding my breath for awhile. When I put on the foundation it looks fine, I even have it a shade lighter than my face. I'm just not sure what is causing my foundation to turn colors!

  • Oxidation? Which brand are you using?

Or it may just be that the foundation was wearing off and showing the colour of your skin underneath. Our skin colour tends to get darker during the day as well.

  • You can re-use a wedge 2-3 times before you have to throw it out. Just make sure you wash the foundation completely off of it.

  • I've used ColorStay and I'd recommend a brush. If you use a sponge it might be a little cakey. If it is, try wetting the sponge and squeezing the excess water out. For a brush, I'd recommend spraying it with water so that its a little bit damp. That way the application looks more natural and less cakey. And never reuse a sponge unless there's still a clean side to it. If it's completely dirty, throw it out and use a new clean one. Hope this helped :)

  • OMG U HAV GOT LYK PERFECT FREAKING SKIN!!! NOT FAIR LMAO

    XoX

  • I have the Revlon ColorStay, but it is EXTREMELY hard to take off, I use Aveeno cleaning pads to take them off and I see NO color on the pads, please help !!

I'm thinking about returning it. >:O

  • aww I love ColorStay (:

I highly recommend buying eye makeup remover and using that... idk if your supposed to use it on your face but after using it witha cotton pad I wash my face anyways ! gets rid of everything

    ^ - ^

(oh don't bother spending alot on one a cheap generic one will work just as well)

  • Use

    Eye makeup remover

Or Pounds Cold cream Or baby oil/ olive oil with a cotton pad

  • you are awesome,...thans

  • i thought u were wearing the foundation already lol. Your pretty.

  • my foundation already has SPF on it, but i was wondering, will it be a good idea to mix it wit neutrogena sunscreen? (both are the same brand) will that cause a bad effect on my skin??

  • if you're going out in the sun, then yes. ALWAYS wear a sunscreen, even if your makeup has SPF already. or you can even apply the sunscreen before foundation, which is what i do. and i use oil-free sunscreen on my face so it won't clog my pores or make my skin look super shiny and oily.

  • Yeah, I would recommend applying your sunscreen after your moisturizer and then allow it a few minutes to settle into your skin. Then go ahead with your foundation; it's extremely important to protect your skin and particularly your face from UVA and UVB rays, so go you for being aware!

  • ur skin is perfect

  • I am really pale with bright red cheeks. Do you have any tips to even out my red skin??

  • usually green coloured foundation (usually theres green concealer...not foundation) covers and mitigates the redness.

  • Pretty sure she knows that ; )

  • I have a question... instead of using foundation, can i used a tinted moisturizer over the concealer instead??

  • you really look like a geisha here...

  • You look like a geisha (: great job

  • what do you do with the excess foundation that was in the bowl?

  • ur skin is perfect

  • thanks for sharing so much.

  • You're a hottie.

  • i know what is your name???

  • WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

  • if you're having dry skin always apply foundation with a moisturizer. mix them up. and prime your face with a primer/base before applying foundation.

  • xteener, i use bare minerals and i always get these blotchy patches from the foundation because of my dry skin. is there any way to make it look "satiny" w/o purchasing the primer?

  • you should definitely keep your hair up more often.

    looks good :D

  • hi xteeener =]! do you have to use powder to set it? can you just leave it alone after applying the liquid foundation? cause i dont want to put any powder =[ thanks!

  • in mac, are u an nc35?

  • can you please

do a tutorial on maybelline super stay silky 16 hour foundation

    as soon as you can

    xoxox

  • can anyone recommend where you can get those sponges to apply your liquid foundation???

  • you can get it at walmart or target ..pretty much anywhere where they sell makeup :)

  • i get them at the dollar store:)

  • tnx

  • omg... ur skin is literally flawless and so smooth... omg... I'm so jealous! :) o btw, ur skin is not that yellow, a bit peachy, but how did the golden beige do? did it match ur asian skin, and are there any things you like it to be (darker, lighter, etc)

  • gorgeous (:

do you like have to re-apply your make-up during the day ? or does it just stay..

  • thank u hawaii8087, now i used the MAC primer, since i tried on my hand the sephora felt so greasy and i heard the negative thing, so i tried the MAC.

anyway, where is ULTA? i never heard of it, now i just use the nude and natural beige of revlon, i just use it even still not match my skintone, but i'm too shy to return it twice.

  • i L.O.V.E your lips! :D

  • and 2nd question, this revlon really doesnt stay on my skin whole day, after 5-6 hours, my skin looks very shiny, especially T-zone, and after another hour, my cheeks started looks shiny also, do u have any idea for other foundation that full coverage (i have large pores and blakhead ONLY, but my skin pretty clean, no blemishes, just a tiny few acne, i dont have dark circle under eye), only big pores, so what other foundation that pretty heavy coverage and good for oily skin, and "revlon price"

  • same here...

im in need of the same info

  • Max Factor Miracle Touch is a good cream foundation with an even finish, it can be set with powder for a good coverage all day.

  • To make anything last longer - use a primer. I hear Sephora and Sally Hansen by Carmindy has a good one. I use Smashbox PhotoFinish

And continue to blot and apply powder throughout the day to absorb the oil that is melting ur makeup.

From all the makeup gurus. Revlon is the best for fuller coverage. Here, she uses mineral foundation to adjust the color. I suggest trying sample from Everyday minerals - FREE! Or Go to Ulta and the ladies there are a great help for color matching. They helped me

  • thanks :)

  • i really have to ask u XTEENER, i'm using Revlon colorstay foundation softlex, and i'm asian too, but ur skin tone looks whiter than me, and u use golden beige tone, and I tried the golden beige also, and it's too dark for me, so i change to nude and natural beige, and it's little bit too light for me, and it seems not natural at all on me, it shows i really USE foundie, so i'm really confused, what color should i choose? i also mix the golden beige + true beige, and natural beige+nude, help pls

  • Only replying because Xteener may not - she does have 50,000+ subscribers

But really, advice over the internet can only do so much. I suggest Ulta because they have drugstore and higher end brands available. Plus, they are so sweet and helpful.

They matched me for my Revlon color

  • is there a liquid foundation that lasts but doesn't make you break out? b/c i use powder but it doesn't always hide my redness, but i feel like liquid would make me break out.

  • and ur eye shadow color is really nice too ^___^

  • hey what's your nail color? it's really pretty i want to try it too! thanks hon!

  • beautiful thanks

  • amazing!

  • what nail polish color/brand r u using?

  • you are beautiful

  • oh wow, you're great !

this vid really helped, thanks love !

  • What do you mean by "set your foundation" and "set your concealer"?

  • Setting it as in, if you put on liquid foundation, to 'set' it with a powder. It's slightly hard to explain, but it's to finish it off. To help dry it and keep it on all day, per say.

  • where you buy this foundation bcoz i could not find golden beige in drug store

  • You may want to try L'oreal Golden Beige liquid foundation. It's G3 as far as I remember

  • Thanks so much!

I know how to put makeup on now xD

    haha

  • .-. i don't think it's necessary to stipple powder on. that's only for foundation.

  • Do you ever have the problem with the flat top kabuki? The flat top kabuki always cakes on the foundation or any powder for me. HELP!

  • get mac fix +. helps with cakiness.

  • i have that. it does help but not enough. thanks =/ any other suggestions?

  • wow! this was very very helpful! thank you! you have beautiful glowing skin!

  • lol wtf... to

    tayc2006... anyway i love ur tutorials =]

  • realy exspiring and helped me apply my own foundation:]

  • the problem that i have with powder afterwards is that sometimes it makes my skin really dry! even if i put moisturizer on.

Oh and btw Love your nails, the shape of them and the colour xx

  • wow you have beautiful skin and you did a great job, thanks!

  • i love that foundation :)

    its the kind i use.

I have baddddd blemishes and scars from that, and the color stay keeps them in hiding all day :D

  • You've got great skin:) Wish I was so lucky:P

  • it's quite helpful. thanks for this informative tips.

  • powder reduces shine, right?

  • WTF AW

  • Comment removed

  • Is there a foundation that doesn't need a setting powder? Something that's all in one...

  • I just bought the Studio Tech foundation by MAC. The lady told me it's supposed to go on creamy and dry with a matte finish. I've used it without a setting powder and it seems to cover up shine okay.

  • You are naturally beautiful already but that is great that you are able to be helpful...geesh I need all the advice I can get..LOL

    Thanks

  • superb m trying like u.........................

  • great vid. i suggest dabbing your foundation around the areas were you've added concealer. never blend or rub. that will only wipe away the concealer you've just put on. if you find that it rubbed off anyways than you can do touch ups. your skin looks great anyways. you don't really need much =D

  • hey,

i can imagine the foundation becomes more transparent when you mix it with water (if you use a damp sponge)... doesn't that happen? :/

  • thank you so much for your videos!

    you're really pretty

  • oOoOo!~ Very helpful!

    I love your tutorials!

I'm glad that I pretty much have the same process.

Except I didn't know about green canceling out red!

    Thank you so much. C:

  • question: can u use the damp sponge with powder foundation?

  • xteeener, you should try maybelline liquid mousse foundation, it really gives my skin an airbrushed look and kind of a glow. I LOVE mine! And also revlon custom creations, you can change it's color so u can make it lighter to work for undereye concealer too! ♥

  • i just bought the revlon foundation in medium beige. i wanted the one you got but i don't think my store had a big selection of shades.

and i don't think you need foundation. your skin is pretty much flawless already.

  • ur very pretty

  • yes, this was super helpful. THANKS=)

  • oh cool. You've totally sold me on that Sonia Kashuk concealer palette. Now I know what to do with each color!

  • your face is so white-ish.. :-s

  • You should try sheer cover mineral makeup it would look great on ur skin and it's all natural.

    I love it, works great!

  • you should apply concealer after liquid foundation =)

  • great tutorial.i'm always having to cover up my dark spots left after acne :'(

i'll definitely follow this for this coming weekend!hehe.Thank You!!^_^

  • just a tip, if you have acne you should try a mineral powder foundation. It really works for me.

  • Thank you^_^ I'll definitely try in getting a good one. all i've been using was concealer becuase i thought if i used minimal make up, it would help my acne..but i dont see any difference.lol. but yeah, thanks for the tip.have any for acne???haha

  • I dont think there is a speciall for ance. :P

But when you go and buy a new foundation, then ask those who work in the make-up store which one that is best for a person with acne. :)

  • hahaha..

    Thank you ;) will do

  • Great tutorial!~

  • is that really the normal way you put and mix your foundation?

  • wow. i love your vids! and yeah you do have pretty good skin at least way better than mine!

  • can u do a makeup collection

  • I sometimes blend my foundation with water, so it gives you a nice silky blend while you apply the foundation to your face. It works pretty well! Great vid!

  • Wow. You have great skin already but the techniques do give it a more polished porcelain finish. I'll definitely be doing this for times when there are going to be photos taken. I was disappointed to find out NYX don't ship to UK but then I visited a TKMaxx store (TJMaxx in US) and they had loads of NYX makeup bags with a few makeup items in each for £9.99 ($14.50). I got a white/grey/black eyeshadow trio, mascara and black jumbo eye pencil. Saved about £5 ($7). Bargain.

  • i love your make up videos.

  • girl your skin is so perfect and flawless you dont need foundation! great video though :)

  • You have GORGEOUS skin. Seriously, don't ruin it by using foundation. Soooo envious!!

  • hey you should try the LASH STILETTO by maybelline its really good i love it :]

  • im soo excited because i just went to but the concealer from target i cant wait till i use it. thanks so much for doing a tut on it or else i wouldn't know what to use. I have big eyes and my brown circles are very very noticeable. thanks girl!

  • thank you for this tutorial, very very helpful, we have the same very pale yellow tone skin and oily t-zone, twice already i've seen you use revlon's colorstay foundation for oily combination with soft flex, thank you for making me rethink that foundation.

  • I had no idea you could mix foundation with other products!LOL

    thanks for that :D

  • what's your nail polish? i love this shade and im looking for something like this! thx~

  • I love your new camera! :D

please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everytime that i put foundation on my face i breakout a lot .I have combination skin and i hope you can have any tips to solve my problem!!!!!!!!thanks for you help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe you need to try a different brand of foundation.

  • If you live in the Uk And Your Pale like me , Also if you have dry/nomral skin i reckomed.

No7 Inteligent Balance - mousse Foundation

(: its £10 a pot but it lasts me about 7 months , i got my frist pot at the start off 2008 and now in feb 2009 its starting to run out , i'm so proud of this.

  • Have you tried the MSF Natural just by itself? It's great as an everyday natural foundation since you definitely seem to be going to for natural look since you're diluting and all that. :D I use it everyday and it's gives such a nice natural look.

  • These guides are really useful - I don't have a concealer wheel yet though... hmm, maybe I'll get one. Your face looks really great at the end of it! And also, your new camera is awesome, it's so clear and I can actually tell this time. :D

  • I can't put powder on after applying foundation.....It looks super dry..... Dunno why....maybe I didn't mix my foundation with mousturizer????

  • try using MACs Fix+ after applying your powder. It really makes the powder seep into the skin naturally and also makes your face makeup lastt longer :)

  • Thx alot :-*

  • you look like a mixture of pursebuzz and michellephan.

    nice video.

  • You have gorgeous skin! I've seen your other videos, and you look like you really don't need much foundation at all. Lucky you. I've got skin problems galore. =(

  • Good job! Great tutorial. I wanted to let everyone know though with the sponges in case you dont realize if you have a latex allergy like I do make sure if you use these sponges make sure they are latex free I learned the hard way. LOL Great job though in explaining and showing. :)

  • hi!

okay, explain what the setting powder is for again, please? i think i might have one from mac but im not sure.

  • Just any type of powder to set the foundation. So your foundation doesn't run or smudge.

  • thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! :) This is truly helpful! :)
