I think this is the same photoplayer that Robert Israel and Gaylord Carter used to create some silent movie scores for video cassette releases in the 1980s and '90s.
Naturally, it sounds so good because Joe keeps it in A-1 shape, since it is also used for professional purposes, rather than for personal amusement only.
